Daniel Dae Kim at the premiere of the final season of Lost

Last night‘s mind-blowing Lost almost killed me – note, I‘m putting up both Gawker‘s and Pajiba‘s recaps. I don‘t want to spoil anything, but why does Lost hate Asian people all of a sudden? I know Naveen Andrews is playing an Iraqi, but he’s an British-Indian actor, and I consider him one of my Asian peeps and now… SAYID!!!!!! [Gawker] [Pajiba]

I loved last night’s episode. It was very sad but I loved it. It’s episode like that that makes me wish this wasn’t Lost’s last season. Then I remember the writing in a couple of seasons and think it’s time.

  2. Jessie says:

WTF?! When it’s widely been reported that more and more characters are going to be killed off in Lost, your headline is hardly opaque. Why not consider not spoiling things for non-Americans who haven’t had the chance to watch it yet?

  3. Snarf says:

Ladies – SPOLIER tags are your friends. Use them!

  4. KeeKee says:

    CONTAINS SPOILERS!!

I was so stunned about what happened with Jin and Sun. Finally after all that time separated, they reunite only to die. I have been shocked by the death of characters on this show before, but never like this. I wonder if the writers where watching Titanic when they wrote their fate for Jin and Sun. It was a little to Jack and Rose from Titanic for my liking. Jin and Sun are two of my favorites and I really thought that in the end they would be the two that would make it off the island. The writers could have totally killed Kate off instead of Jin, Sun, or Sayid or even Frank. I have disliked Kate since season one. I truly hope Kate doesn’t make it off the island!

  5. Kolby says:

I’ve decided that no one will survive. It really helps me get through the inevitable deaths, and then I’ll be so happy if anyone actually *does* make it.

  6. nena says:

    I just watch Lost…..and i’m still crying!!!

  7. Naye in VA says:

    aughhhh aughhhh aughhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!
Is what i felt watching last night. I was so BLOWN that they killed off Jin and Sun, I was like “wont they let one of them live for the baby”

but yea Kolby, i now firmly belive everyone is going to die, nobody is off-limits. Like when JK Rowling killed Dumbledore lol

  8. snowball says:

I’m sort of thanking god I don’t watch network television anymore. It was actually the X-Files, Millennium, Profitt and in a little way, when Goren left L&O Criminal Intent that did me in. Everyone I like, every series I like, turns to turds or gets canceled, so I just quit watching and getting emotionally involved.

Oh, and they murdered Farscape too, when they turned it into a mushy lovefest between Crichton and Aeryn. Then the killing off beloved characters began. I don’t even know why I kept watching after that, it was a total trainwreck.

    Great, now I’m depressed.

Um, I like the guy who plays Locke? He was kick-ass in Millennium.

  9. Harmony says:

    *SPOILER*

the moment they all got on the sub i KNEW they were going to let most of them escape but kill off jin and sun. I just had a feeling…they didnt make their reunion as beautiful as i would have hoped and it lasted like 2 seconds. if they cared at all about them they should have at least had sun say “no go for our daughter”- but no. And i thought Jin would be the chosen candidate to rule the island.

UGH. sometimes i think lost IS racist. that was ridic.

  10. Iggles says:

    *SPOILER*

Harmony – I agree. Three POC character killed in 1 episode, while Kate survives being shot in the freaking CHEST!!! wtf??

I really hope they kill off Kate. She’s obviously a Mary Sue character that most viewers hate! If they finally get rid of her so many ppl would be cheering!!

  11. Leek says:

Why does it have to be a race thing? I hated to see them go but if it had been Jack, Sawyer, and Kate that died last night I would not have cried like I did. I found it to be much more compelling and they were well written characters.

  12. Leek says:

Do you think Phil Collins is constantly getting paternity suits thrown at him since every baby born seems to resemble his face?

  13. Gypsy says:

My guess is that Jack was right they (the group) are not the key to the island, they are the lock, the lock that keeps the man in black anchored to this island while the island is in this dimension.

My guess is Sawyer will take on the powers and become the replacement, so in the end Kate, Jack and his sister will leave the island and there will be Sawyer and the man in black (Locke) left on the island to start this whole process again for eternity.

  14. meeps says:

Is it just me or do Sun’s boobs look HUGE in that photo? HELLO! Where did they come from?

  15. cedar falls says:

The best bit of Lost was when the guy got sucked into the plane engine on the first day. Downhill from there…

  16. Harmony says:

Gypsy that is an awesome theory- you’re probably right and i think it would actually be a good ending.

And Iggles i could not agree more! I’ve been expecting her to be killed off for a few episodes now and i thought she obviously would be when shot in the chest.

  17. sarajane says:

I don’t really have anything productive to add, only that I think Naveen is delicious. *swoon*

  18. MsTriste says:

    ***********SPOILER***************
Lost sucked this week. From the “Titanic” references, to the wrong people dying, that horrible makeup job of the scar on Blocke’s face (my new moniker = Bad Locke)…But I did like Anthony Cooper’s face and Sawyer’s disarming that dude. And getting to hear him say “Son of a bitch” again 🙂

  19. kim says:

i don’t even need to watch anymore and don’t care what happens from now until the end.

    WILL NO LONGER WATCH

the couple i wanted to survive died and there’s no one else I want to watch.

seriously they should have killed off kate and left S & J together with their daughter.

IT WAS A NICE RUN LOST. LAST NIGHT WAS MY PERSONAL FINALE.

  20. LindaLu says:

    ***SPOILER ALERT****

see… I thought when Sayid told Jack about Desmond and Jack asked “why are you telling me this” and Sayid replied “because you’re going to be THE ONE” that was a clear cut reference to him being chosen as the protector.

Am I reading too much into this?

  21. Gypsy says:

    @LindaLu,

There was one thing I forgot to mention:
Desmond isn’t dead and the Man-in-Black/Locke can’t sense him, (that make him plot-line important ) remember Desmond is the only human who can survive the island massive emi emissions, so I think he is going to play a vital role, but I doubt, in fact I am sure he isn’t Jacob replacement,
I still think it’s Sawyer. (The biblical thief who became a holy man)

Have you noticed how it’s being played out in a kind of Biblical way? Two beings on a rock in the middle of nowhere/no-time one is good the other is evil and the good one has only one job, and that is to “bind” the evil to protect. mankind.
Now Jacob’s spirit is waiting for the right time to take over the host body of the chosen one, and the Man-in-Black is now running out of time, being that he can’t personally kill the candidates.

  22. Gypsy says:

My comment on the death of S&J:
I accept it because Lost has killed so many at the drop-of-a-hat, they try to be realistic about people living on a Island fighting for their lives, stars die that’s reality.
The S&J deaths were an attempt to create a Romeo and Juliet moment. – I was sorry to see Sun&Jin die but it was in a honorable way.
