Rihanna’s rubber cut-out catsuit – trashy or classy?

wenn2835171

Just looking at these photos of Rihanna’s new costumes gave me a sympathy yeast infection. I can’t imagine many more painful skin-tight fabrics to put on your privates. Rubber and duct tape? Rihanna, I’m going to give you the same advice my gyno gave me – let The Vadge breathe, girl. Anyway, these are photos of Rihanna performing in England over the weekend as she started the European leg of her world tour. These costumes are new – and something tells me that by the end of the European tour, Rihanna is going to be all “Seriously, we need to change these costumes. Maybe something loose and cotton.”

At first I thought the costume was just this poorly-cut rubber, but as I look at it more closely, that’s flesh-toned fabric, made to look like “cut-outs”. That makes it slightly better, and perhaps the rubber suit is fully lined? So it’s not like the rubber is just rubbing against her vadge? Hope against hope.

In one other piece of Rihanna news, while she was in England, she got paid $30,000 pounds (roughly $50,000) to party for one hour at a Liverpool nightclub. The British press are reporting it like it’s some kind of scandal, where I honestly thought Rihanna would get paid much more than $50,000 for a club appearance. I saw photos of her leaving the club though, and she wasn’t wearing rubber or duct tape – she was wearing leggings. For goodness sake, Rihanna. Let the vadge breathe.

Not classy or trashy. They’re stage costumes. Very cool stage costumes.

  2. YT says:

If you have to ask, it’s trashy.

My opinion is artistic but trashy, though it helps her sell tickets.

  3. meme says:

    she’s trash.

  4. suz says:

She really comes off as a low-rent Lady Gaga, which isn’t saying much.

  5. JulieNewmar says:

At least she spared us and wore a flesh toned unitard.
Too many female preformers are trying to go this ‘artsy/creative’ route. Relying on the costume instead of the talent. It’s getting boring now.

  6. Feebee says:

It’s in a class of it’s own but I don’t think classy’s the word. But it’s not meant to be. It’s a costume, that’s all but I gotta say WTF? I’m thinking the same as JulieNewmar, it’s getting boring. The out-there costuming isn’t fresh and does it really add anything? (not condemning costumes, just these ones).

  7. ViktoryGin says:

    She tries, doesn’t she?

    Death, death, death….to the catsuit/leotard/unitard!

  8. Mentok the Mind Taker says:

My age is showing, but remember back in the day when people could just use their talent as entertainment?

So many of these women have really beautiful voices. Why do they have to skank themselves up? Am I that naive, or can’t women just selling tickets/cds on their merit? It’s not like these artists are new and don’t have established followings.

I just don’t get it. Not that that’s new.

  9. Lady D says:

Boring, repetitive, unimaginative and soon to be called Miley.

  10. canadianchick says:

Quick, everyone buy shares in Vagisil as Rihanna is going to need a truckload. Let the Vadge breathe is right!!!!!!

  11. Blaster says:

She needs to costumes. What else are the concert goers supposed to focus on? Her singing? Pishaw!

  12. irishserra says:

    Well, she’s hardly a classy girl…

  13. Ayla says:

The costumes are incredibly ugly and look like a “bargain-barn” Lady Gaga. I mean REALLY????!!
Leather??? With the “sexy” cut-outs which are covered by some nude material?
And then the white bandage outfit??? They couldn’t have gotten her a better nude jumpsuit underneath?

Hell no…..the theme here was obviously wear the tightest thing possible…no matter what.

  14. Ayla says:

Lastly…….if a singer TRULY has talent and great singing ability, they don’t need to parade around in these kinds of outfits…

But then there are a few singers who still do it when we all know that there voices are amazing- Beyonce and Lady Gaga

  15. Squirrel says:

Not a fan of the costumes but to be fair the girl’s got a great figure and can afford to do these outfits. Listening, JLo?

  16. Bella Mosley says:

I can’t judge because I find her w/o any class. Beyonce – total class.

I understand JayZ handles her career. His wife and she are total opposites.

  17. bellaluna says:

    How about “unhealthy”?

  18. SammyHammy says:

Wow. She just gets worse and worse, doesn’t she?

  19. Tia C says:

@ Mentok: To answer your question – Rihanna doesn’t have a very good voice. She is not a strong (or even in tune) singer. That may be why she feels the need to wear these ridiculous outfits.

Having said that, I think she is an extraordinarily beautiful young woman. Really striking. I don’t believe she can sing at all though, so I wonder if she could act? I’d still like to look at her but I can’t stand her voice lol.

Oh, and Kaiser, you are absolutely right – these outfits make me want to call my ob/gyn for a diflucan prescription…lol.

  20. BlahBlah says:

One word shall suffice….and that word is, “yuck”.

  21. e.non says:

a trashy spectacle. but it does get her the attention she craves.

  22. MMF says:

    She can’t sing.
    So she skanks herself out.
    Who goes to her shows?

  23. QB says:

When you have no talent you need to do something to sell tickets.

On the other hand Beyonce can sing and she still acts like a fool on stage , wearing unitards and getting on her knees swinging her weave and shaking her ass at the same time.

  24. Skins says:

She has to sell herself somehow and her musical talent (or lack thereof) is not enough

  25. Alexa says:

Wow! You all sound like a bunch of hypocritical “Church Lady”-types (a la Dana Carvey). I always assumed I was the oldest CB reader, but I’m starting to doubt that.

  26. Stephie says:

“[…]and something tells me that by the end of the European tour, Rihanna is going to be all “Seriously, we need to change these costumes. Maybe something loose and cotton.”

–Not likely. Slutty sells doesn’t it? Yuck.

  27. nanster says:

Have any of you ever listened to the lyrics of Rihanna’s hit “Rude Boy”? It’s very graphic and even says something about her wanting/liking to have her hair pulled during “the act”. After all the furor that surrounded the whole mess with Chris Brown, you’d think she’d be a little more thoughtful about the music she makes – but I guess not. Everyone else that has said it is right – when you’re short in the talent department, you have to sell whatever you’ve got and Rihanna does that quite well (as evidenced by her costumes).

  28. EMV says:

    UGH

  29. YeahWhatev says:

It’s trashy, she’s trashy, her taste in men is especially trashy. Trash, trash, trash!

  30. andrea says:

im all for the costume being part of the show – absolutely! – but they are all doing the same damn thing! there is no originality in all this crap. christina, beyonce, rihanna – all dominatrix, booty sexpot stuff. gaga’s shocking costumes are shock for the point of shock, which gets boring fast and is not about personal style. gwen stefani has personal style. her tour costumes are not designed around making her look like a freak or a dominatrix. it shows a lack of self that these girls don’t have more of a vision of their own personal style. and something that does not portray women as sex toys would be nice too. you can be sexy without being a sex toy. again, see gwen stefani.

  31. kim says:

it’s not trashy. Obviously not classy.

it’s just plain ugly, like her nasty hair cut and dye job.

  32. Jover says:

I too would like to know who goes to her shows – not anyone that has musical taste. She’s trash, her music (it of course is written by other ppl) is trash, and in interviews she comes across as a dim bulb without her pr/pub teams assistance. She is nothing more than a cash register on two legs, her management pawned her off to Covergirl and Louis Viutton to cash in because they have to know she has no talent and the schtick will become boring – it just can’t become boring and worn out soon enough.

  33. Judy says:

What a skank–you should see the pics on TMZ.

  34. gee_gee says:

It’s trashy. But who cares? I’ve seen worse on Mily Cyrus.

  35. As I web site possessor I believe the content material here is
rattling great , appreciate it for your hard work. You should keep it up forever!
