As a military wife let me clarify that stop losses are not sudden or surprising nor do they involve sending someone back to iraq immediately upon returning.

As for Ryan, I’ve said it before. I don’t really have any bad juju towards the man. His marriage just didn’t work out. That’s often what happens when you marry young and knocked up.

I feel for poor Ava though. It has to be confusing for a little girl.

I’ve always really like him & I think all the negative stuff about him is crap. Marriages fail all the time, why should celeb ones be any different? He is a really good dad & he & Reece are working hard to make sure that the kids come first.

And if my hypothetical children & I were being stalked by the paparazzi, I’d do a whole lots worse than throw my breakfast at them

Bodhi and headache, again you have taken the words right out of my mouth.

Thanks for the eye candy, though, CB!

I understand his feelings about the paps, and could honestly say I’d do much worse in his shoes. I mean, blocking someone at a drivethrough? If I had his kind of money and could just buy a new car at will, you’d better believe my foot would ‘slip’.

As a side-note, I have to agree with Headache – the whole premise for his new movie is B.S. I pulled 2 tours in Iraq and one in Afghanistan, and it’s not like a stop loss just sneaks up on you.

My five year tour in the Marines turned into nearly eight, shit happens. When you sign on the dotted line every soldier agrees to “4 years, or so long as I may be needed.” If we’re at war, then odds are you’ll be needed. It’s a risk everyone who wears the uniform knows and accepts.

    Scott F,

I have to agree with everything you said. My father is a first sergeant in the army reserves. At first I was leaning towards where all these anti war nutcases are. But I started asking my dad questions about the army and he told me about it to the point I respect all of those who have enlisted a hell of a lot more. You don’t really have a right to complain when you knew what you were signing up for.

I’m an “anti war nutcase” & so is my father who enlisted in the Air Force during Vietnam. We respect every man & woman who has ever worn a uniform in the service of our country.

Just because one thinks that our country’s current involvement in Iraq & Afganistan was a poorly thought out & poorly executed decision doesn’t mean that one disrespects or dislikes the military.

    Glad your back stateside, Scott

Thanks for writing this article CB. I think Ryan’s bad rap is unfairly earned and because his marriage to “America’s Sweetheart” failed, we like to assume it was all his fault. From what I can tell, we don’t know anything negative about him that is guranteed truth. He seems like a good dad and nice guy.

    P.S.- Thanks Scott F.
