It's a cutthroat/stab-you-in-the-back town with intense competition everywhere and I'd say it's a good place to cut your losses from once you've had the degree of success that you'd like. If you stay there it's because it's the only place you fit in or you get something out of it. I can't fault him for not wanting to stay attached to it. I actually think it’s healthier to leave Hollywood than to stay.
