Kendra Wilkinson did an interview with Ryan Seacrest yesterday in which she talked about the sex tape and claimed it was her first interview on the subject. That’s not true, because she already granted a tearful interview about it two weeks ago, the one in which she weakly told people not to “press play.” (After they bought it, I guess.) With Ryan, Kendra is very vague when asked why the tape is coming out now. She doesn’t directly answer his question, which she could have done if it was something her co-star decided to come out with. She just says that she made it when she was young and it’s a shame it’s coming out now that she has her life together. She cries and gets upset, but it seems fake to me, like she’s upset that she got called out for making a bundle on her back. There’s nothing wrong with that, but I find it laughable how she’s claiming now that she’s so upset about a tape that couldn’t have been released without her sign off.
Kendra got a whopping $680,000 advance on the sex tape, along with making 50% of sales. That’s going to a huge amount considering that the distributor, high end adult entertainment company Vivid, claims that the tape had more advance sales than any in their history.
In her interview with Ryan, Kendra addresses the rumors that the sex tape has hurt her marriage to Hank. She says that it brought them closer together as they fought this battle together. I’m sure the money didn’t hurt, either.
“The tape has definitely brought Hank and I closer together, made us more of a team, like, ‘Let’s put our vest on, let’s get out there, let’s fight!’ ” the E! star said in an exclusive sit-down with E! News’ Ryan Seacrest, in which they discussed the sex tape, made with an ex-boyfriend when Kendra was 18, that reared its ugly head recently.
The whole debacle has been “extremely embarrassing” for the 24-year-old, who said that she warned NFL-player hubby Hank Baskett that the tape existed before they got married because she “didn’t want it to just come out and smack us in the face.”
But ultimately, “it’s going to make us better people, strong people,” she said.
“Now that this happened, it hurts, but I know it’s going to make me and Hank better parents,” Kendra said. “It’s really going to make us teach our child what’s right and wrong in this world, what’s good and evil…We’re going to make sure our son is raised with a good head on his shoulders, a person that has morals, that treats women with respect.”
As opposed to whoever leaked the tape to cash in on her celebrity status, perhaps.
“I’m a very open person, very honest about my life, but a sex tape is definitely not what I wanted in my life,” she said. “I made love to my boyfriend at the time, we just happened to videotape it. It wasn’t for anybody else’s eyes to see but ours.
“I was going to marry him, we were going to be together forever. And I didn’t know I was going to be famous—It was something that we did, and it was for our eyes only.”
“I didn’t do it out of fame, I didn’t do it for money, I did it because I was in love with him,” she added. “It just sucks. It’s really embarrassing.”
Kendra said that, even though she was a “crazy party girl throughout those Playboy Mansion years,” what she always wanted was to be a wife and mom.
“That was my dream, it’s always been my dream—and I’m here now. I’m here where I want to be, the happiest person I’ve ever been, and it just so happens my past has to haunt me now.”

In order to drive her point home, Kendra is also on the cover of US Weekly this week. The cover promises an exclusive with Kendra on “My Sex Tape Nightmare.” I get it. Kendra wants to earn millions off her sex tape but maintain her image as this sweet reformed kind of ditsy mom so she can go on making her reality show. I know a lot of you, including Kaiser, really like her and want to give her the benefit of the doubt. She could have easily legally fought the release of this tape, but she didn’t. Instead she cashed in and now she’s crying about her image. If she really cared about it she would have ensured that the tape never saw the light of day.

As someone who’s had her boyfriend send explicit photos to her own parents, i can completely sympathise with Kendra. i didn’t want him to take the photos in the first place, and he was pushing me into it – much like her boyfriend in the tape. Life isn’t so black and white, when you’re young, it CAN be hard to say no especially when you think you love someone and think you can trust them. I can only imagine how embarrassing it must be for Kendra to have not just her parents see the video, but also her husband and the whole world.
Seeing people judge her so harshly really upsets me.

I don’t know, I think cashing in was the way to go. It was going to get released. If her ex couldn’t get her signature, he would have ensured the tape got “leaked” somehow, out of bitterness that he didn’t get the payday HE wanted.
It was going to be out there, at least this way she gets paid for it.

It sounds like you’re looking at this in a much more black and white way then we are. I could care less if someone has a sex tape or not. What I find hypocritical is that she was the one to start shopping it around and getting bids in the first place. Now she’s crying that its coming out. Doesn’t make sense to me. And anyone who truly was against the tape being released wouldn’t take a dime from it. She has loads of money, is making loads of money from the show and is married to a guy who makes even more then she does. Sounds to me she was holding out until she could barter a more lucrative deal and her ticket came once she made it on her own show. EVERY celebrity that has this sex tape ordeal strikes up a deal with the company to put in the agreement to never release that they were involved in the deal so they can act like they are against it….
Meanwhile she “crying” all the way to the bank.

Kendra is no Erin Andrew, she leaker her own sex tape and sign it the release form and now she is trying to act like someone did this to her.
If she was that concern for her child and husband she would have said to Vivid entertainment “NO”.
She was young when she film it but she was already an adult with a husband and child when she decided to take the check.

Sex tapes arent embarrassing. People who provide them to distribution companies for quick money and fame then deny it are embarrassing.
Kendra got famous for pornography (yes Playboy is pornography, soft porn but still porn) so i dont think her reputation (which isnt stellar to begin with) will be damaged.
Its not like we are talking about a sex tape from someone we wouldnt expect it from.

Kendra seems like a nice enough girl so I am disappointed she isnt coming clean about accepting money for and ultimately providing the tape to Vivid. I wish she would just come out and say yes i did it – I regret it now but i did it.

I think Kendra is smart. I believe she was sincerely upset by the decision to put out the sex tape now, but she also realized that it would come out whether she wanted it to or not, so she may as well make a killing off the profits from it.
She could have stayed on her high horse and refused to take any money, but she’d be a dumbass and lose out on $600K+. She didn’t become a millionaire in the first place by being a ditzy moron; a lot of savvy decisions were made on her part to get where she is today. What does it take to get you women to face reality? Kendra shopped the tape and it couldn’t have been released without her signature! It was released now because she has some fame from her show and will make more money from it. Watch the tape and you will see that she was not forced to make it. It is not a home video. There is a cameraman and someone shouting directions to her. She smiles and has a good time all the way through it. She admires herself while performing for the camera. She could have easily stopped distribution but didn’t. She is trash and couldn’t care less about Hank. She flat tells him that she’s going to do whatever she wants to do and he can’t stop her. It’s obvious that he is very hurt by her actions because his only option now is to leave and she doesn’t seem to care. The breakup will probably be part of her show next season. When you try to justify her actions you look very ignorant because you are doing exactly what she wants so she can keep raking in the money. Her show is as fake as all the rest of the “reality” show. The only reality is that it’s all fake.
