Matt Damon gets mad for charity

All you need to do to make a funny celebrity video is to include Matt Damon acting mad. The guy does mad the best that I’ve ever seen, (I was going to write “better than any other living actor,” but I know that many of you will disagree with me) and his buddy Jimmy Kimmel knows this and capitalizes on it whenever Matt is game, which is surprisingly often. We’ve seen Matt freak out and swear at Kimmel for supposedly bumping him from his show, fight Jimmy’s sidekick Guillermo, and star in other cute segments like “Handsome Men’s Club,” “F’cking Matt Damon” and “F’cking Ben Affleck” (There’s also a non-Kimmel but staged video of Damon freaking out and swearing at Adrien Grenier for allegedly messing up a scene.) Even when Damon is acting campy in a bit he’s superb and doesn’t overplay it. I just love him so much.

Anyway Damon stars in a new Funny or Die video for 1Goal, an education charity founded by Queen Rania of Jordan in conjunction with the World Cup. He plays agitated and out of control to Jessica Alba’s woefully inadequate straight man. The video cuts away to a cute segment with John Legend complaining that no one brought him a piano and both Shakira and Queen Rania discussing 1Goal.

Damon has gained some weight and is sporting longer hair. His wife is pregnant with their third child together, which would explain Damon’s sympathetic daddy weight gain. Either that or it’s for a role. Damon is slated to play Liberace’s longterm lover in a new biopic starring Michael Douglas. Judging from pictures of the guy he’s playing, Scott Thorson, that could be why he gained weight and let his hair grow out. Damon is also reportedly in talks to play the lead in a new Cameron Crow movie based on the true story of a man who sunk his life savings into a zoo. He has no less than six films in development and several coming up that are in post production. Bourne might be over, but we’ll be getting our Damon fix for years to come.

So brokenhearted over the Bourne franchise being gone….the first one, the Bourne Identity, gave me naughty shower material that I still revert to even after all these years. It’s my LBD of fantasies.

Great actor, plus he manages to be a huge movie star but live a fairly low key life.
That Handsome Men’s Club still makes me laugh.

I love him too. Not only do I want to be secretly married to him but I’d love to hang out with him. He’s hilarious. I was so happy to see him on 30 Rock. He’s obviously a down to earth guy who doesn’t see tv as beneath him.

I first knew I loved him when he hosted SNL and he did a sketch where he played Justin Timberlake and Amy Poehler played Britney Spears and they had a dance-off. Matt is an adorably bad dancer and he busted out his bad moves which was funny but why I truly love him is because, with all the nonsense dance moves, he never did the incredibly annoying butter churning dance move. And for that, I will always love him.

I think Matt Damon in Good Will Hunting is one of the reasons I held out for a blue collar boy from Boston!

Matt Damon can seriously do no wrong. As an actor, he is in the top echelon of talent. As a person, he does live a low key life with his wife and their kids, despite being so high profile in the industry. LOVE him!

Also appreciate that he is vocal in his beliefs and is consistent. There was some clip of him awhile back saying that he was disappointed with the Obama administration to date – not taking them to task, but as a very avid supporter of Obama’s, being honest about his disappointment without backtracking on his support. Just seems so much more genuine than the Alec “I’m going to leave the country if Bush is elected president” Baldwin. Still waiting for Alec to make good on that promise…hate that I love him so much on 30 Rock.

Like him usually, but he was dreadful on 30 Rock: wooden and speaking his lines as if with a mouthful of mashed potatoes. Bring back the Hamm — the Hamm is gorgeous and does comedy to perfection!
