Radar: Tiger Woods is about to sign over $750 million to Elin in their divorce

LONDON - NOVEMBER 28: (FILE PHOTO) Golfer Tiger Woods poses with girlfriend Elin Nordegren during the opening ceremony for the 34th Ryder Cup in this September 26, 2002 file photo in Sutton Coldfield, England. A Swedish newspaper reported on November 28, 2003 that world number one golfer Woods is to marry his Swedish girlfriend Elin, a 23-year-old former model. (Photo by Andrew Redington/Getty Images)

So I haven’t written about Tiger or Elin Woods in a while, so it came as a surprise to me that they’re so far along in their divorce settlement negotiations, at least according to Radar (who could totally be wrong). Allegedly, Tiger and Elin are finalizing their junk as we speak, and the whole sordid mess will be done shortly. Here’s what struck me however – according to Radar’s sources, Elin is supposed to be getting a $750 million settlement?!? Um, wasn’t Tiger worth $1 billion? So Elin is walking away with three-quarters of his assets?

Tiger Woods divorce is about to become official, RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively. The final divorce is imminent, a source close to the situation told RadarOnline.com.

“They’ve agreed on all the major points,” one source told us. “It’s all been worked out privately.

“Both Tiger and Elin are very close to finishing the negotiations and filing and signing the paperwork.”

Elin is expected to receive approximately $750 million in the settlement. RadarOnline.com has obtained new details about the divorce negotiations.

“When they first started negotiating the divorce, it was very acrimonious,” the source told RadarOnline.com. “Elin had a lawyer in California who was very, very aggressive.”

But we learned that Elin switched attorneys months ago and that took much of the anger out of the negotiations.

“Things are now very civil between Tiger and Elin – at least in terms of getting the divorce taken care of,” the source told RadarOnline.com.

Elin lives in a rented house approximately a mile away from Tiger in the Orlando area. At one point their marriage seemed back on track as Elin participated in Tiger’s sex addiction rehab therapy when the golfing great went for in-patient treatment. But when Tiger announced his return to golf things grew very chilly between the couple. One source said Elin believed that Tiger was not sincere about changing his life.

“They don’t interact much at all anyone,” that source told RadarOnline.com. “The nannies take the kids back and forth between their houses. There’s virtually no conversation between Tiger and Elin but that’s an improvement from when all the conversation was angry.”

The divorce terms are being worked out privately and when everything is finished it will be filed in court, the first source said.

“And that day is almost here,” the source added.

[From Radar]

I think Elin must have just come to the point where she simply cut her losses. She let go and just went for the cash because why not? Still, I really have doubts that she’s walking away with $750 million, I really do. I don’t care how many Ho Jo’s waitresses he banged, and I don’t care how lavish their lifestyle was for all of those years, there is no way her lawyers could pull that off, and there is no way his lawyers would agree to it. Half of the assets? Sure. But not $750 million.

I can see half. Unless there’s a clause about no tell-all, no alimony ever and he’s got a huuuuge contract with Nike and Cadillac still that’s going to net him some big bling in the near future to make up for it all.

As much of a dipshit that he is, his earnings potential is massive still. And this settlement may mean she caved on the 50/50 custody.

  2. Ron says:

She’ll get half and probably will be entitled to future earnings as well. So it could hit 750 mil in total depending on how long the terms are. This probably includes all child support as well. Banging Ho Jo buffet waitresses can really cost you these days.

  3. Whatever says:

I’ll bet they had an infidelity clause that nullified the prenup. Good for her!

  4. denise says:

I don’t think these two were ever in love. I am pretty sure Elin had to have some knowledge of her hubby’s infidelity. I mean it was with more than a dozen women. How could your radar not go off? What should she care, she is walking away with more than half his fortune. What a pay off!!!

  5. Green Is Good says:

Elin looks so pretty in the 3rd picture wearing the black hat.

As sh*tty and unforgivable as Tiger’s betrayal of Elin and his children was, he earned that money. 1/2 alright, if that’s what the law in FLA is, but that should be 1/2 cut, dry, done. Elin will never have to work again and the kids will be WELL provided for with 1/2 his money.

  6. bite me says:

    damn Elin

  7. Jeri says:

The figures do sound outrageous but who knows. She can only do better now, she was too good for him. I hope her & the kids lead happy Tiger-less lives.

He can remember when & how he blew his whole world up for skanky p–ssy.

  8. irishserra says:

    Cha ching.

  9. Kim says:

Radar has been wrong many times they claimed she was moving to Sweeden a few weeks ago and then she enrolled in college in Florida.I don’t believe this amount maybe 250 not 750

  10. LOVE ANGELINA says:

Well I hope she does get that amount of money. Good for her. Who knows if this even true, but I sincerely hope she gets that amount of money. I don’t feel a stitch of sympathy for him. Good for Elin. Good for you sweetie.

  11. benny says:

If it’s true, I don’t think it means Elin is getting 3/4 of his assets; I think it means Tiger is worth more than we thought.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the 740 mil is 1/2 his assets though. If she takes care of the kids full-time, a lot of that money might be because of them instead of just her, or as others said, it takes into account future earnings.

  12. Twez says:

I have some issues with the whole attitude that Elin ‘must have known’ what was going on. It’s right next door to blaming the victim, as far as I’m concerned. If someone, even your spouse, is determined to deceive you, they will. You don’t gain psychic superpowers with a marriage certificate. Also, they had two small children, which can occupy every bit of your attention and energy, even if you have nannies to help with the practical stuff.

  13. Lulu says:

totally agree, Twez. It’s a misogynistic attitude.

Most people do NOT know when their spouse is cheating.

  14. guesty says:

    if this is true…wow.

  15. Kazoo81 says:

FL isn’t a community property state, therefore she isn’t automatically “entitled” to half of his assets, nor is she “entitled” to future earnings, unless his lawyers allow either/both as part of the settlement.

i’d always read that their pre-nup was iron-clad, so i imagine that most of the negotiations involve her signing a lifetime confidentiality clause to receive more money.

  16. Kazoo81 says:

oh, also. to follow up on what twez & lulu said…the fact that he constantly traveled definitely helped conceal the cheating. add in hordes of enablers/handlers to help cover his tracks, it’s definitely easy to see how elin might not have known. tiger strikes me as being somewhat of sociopath, i could totally see him leading multiple lives and having a personality for each.

  17. LindyLou says:

I agree it’s doubtful that she will get that much. How many millions does that amount of cheating cost a guy? Elin and the kids will no doubt be set for life with whatever the final number is.

  18. Sincerity says:

I’m going to call “BS” on this story because Tiger has the resources at his disposal not to give her such an enormous amount of money. However, he does have the resources to give her very generous “lifetime” alimony payments in exchange for her silence on issues related to their marriage. The fact that she signed a “prenup” also significantly limits what she’s actually entitled to.

  19. kc454 says:

750 mil? I don’t care how skanky Tiger is, Elin doesn’t deserve 750 Million dollars. I agree what Tiger did was wrong, but not to the tune of 750 mil, no-way, never!! Relationships sour and spouses cheat, both men and women, but neither party is entitled to 3/4 of the other’s assets, PERIOD!!

  20. Danielle says:

Wow….hope Tiger thought it was worth it. Loser.

  21. yessirPayUp says:

The most expensive pussy in history, folks.

  22. dontKnow says:

Tell me, if Elin was the one who had cheated, would Tiger be entitled and justified to take more than half of everything she owned?… or would it simply be rationalized into misandrist logic that if he cheats its his fault and if she cheats is must also somehow be his fault.

  23. Q says:

The obvious answer here is not that the $750mm is wrong, but that the earlier $1B is wrong. It’s an awfully nice round number, $1B is, and probably when you crunch all the numbers it comes out higher. This is the man who somehow turned this whole mess into a NEW Nike commercial, after all.

To follow on Twez and Lulu’s comments – she also DID eventually find out, and when she did, look how quickly everything came out. If she’d known all along, why would she suddenly raid his phone? Chase him with a club? Throw him out?

  24. Maritza says:

Wow! It’s mind boggling, I can’t believe a golf player can earn that much money. Elin really hit the jackpot!

  25. Leek says:

All those hookers he banged are probably crying their fake eyelashes right off their faces wishing it could have been them.

  26. lin234 says:

If the figure is true, I’m wondering if Elin and Tiger basically negotiated that their kids inheritance is also included in that sum. That’s the only way I see Tiger being ok with this. He’s still young and at the rate he’s going, it’s very likely he could have other children in the future. Either way, I would trust Elin with saving a great deal of that money for her kids trust fund.

  27. Theresa says:

I think the obscenity here is the amount of money that Tiger Woods has earned as an athlete. I don’t follow any professional sports, nor do I buy any products that are known to be endorsed by Woods. Those companies that have lined his pockets are insane in my opinion. I have never understood why companies pay so much for celebrity endorsement. There must be some pretty convincing market studies done to prove it’s worth the investment.

Am I crazy to think that he doesn’t deserve, nor has justly earned millions of dollars by just whacking a ball into a small hole? Pun absolutely intended!

  28. Beth says:

$750 million is bull. Nobody would give away the majority of their worth. I doubt Elin knows anything more damaging and she really doesn’t strike me as a golddigger.

  29. Annie says:

Good for her. I hope it’s true.

  30. RHONYC says:

    @ Theresa

he probably feels the same deep down, and doesn’t really care about losing that money. he may have wanted to get caught b/c deep inside he knows he is a crummy, rotten human being and never deserved all the accolades bestowed upon his character all b/c he is the best at his sport.

this is probably the hugest payout in divorce history.

    sweet.

  31. Miranda Ann says:

Nobody knows how much money Tiger Woods is worth. The $1B number comes from “Forbes” and they only do an estimate based on what they see and hear from the news or other sources, not actual facts. Tiger is most likely worth far more than $1B. Only his lawyers/financial advisors know for sure. He has earned endorsements worth more than $50M-$100M a year for the past 12 or so years, along with the millions he earns playing tournaments. He also earns millions playing exhibition tournaments in foreigh countries and that amount is never made public. (He is HUGE in the Emirates and gets millions just to show up and play a round or two.)

So, I absolutely believe that Elin will be getting $750M in cash, property and various other ways from Tiger. I’m just glad he has agreed and this thing won’t be dragged out in public for his kids to read about later on.

  32. Ethel says:

She deserves more. He put her at risk of getting all kinds of STDs. He should have NEVER married.

  33. Melanie says:

Face it, what was golf before Tiger? Yes, he deserves to get paid for bringing the sport of golf to a new audience. And I really don’t think she knew. I bet he was a sugar tongued sweetheart with her. He had to stalk her to even get her to date him.

  34. Liana says:

i’d always read that their pre-nup was iron-clad
    _______________

It’s only iron-clad if nothing in the pre-nup is violated. If there was a fidelity clause and he broke it, it may have nullified the pre-nup. Plus, pre-nups can always be challenged and they don’t always hold up in court, especially if the trust of one party is violated the way Elin’s trust in her husband was.

  35. Anamie says:

Elin is not beautiful and I doubt that she even has a high school diploma. So, I wonder what Tiger Woods saw in her to begin with. That said, I pray that Elin wipes Tiger out from the rug under and take even the clothes on his back. That will teach future “Black” males not to go fo White, blonde, bimbos. More power to your gold-digging elbow Elin!

  36. Feebee says:

I say bollocks to this. If they’re going to lie, you’d think they’d make up something a little more believeable.

In the unlikely event this was ever to be true then for all of Tiger’s “indiscretions” it would look like he fucked himself worst in the end.

For Elin to get anywhere near this sort of $ there’s something more to the story, something very damaging to Tiger – if that’s even possible at this stage.

  37. Cinderella says:

Whatever the final figure, I bet she will rejoice the day the papers are signed.

  38. Fluffy Kitten Tail says:

None of us knows what kind of secrets she knows. He might be willing to pay that type of amount on her silence. I am sure she knows things about him, he doesn’t want public. Things that may even be worse than the affairs. If he were say addicted to drugs, that would be the end of his image, and money making abilities, so her silence is important.

He is worth a lot of money, and he also has two children with her. People magazine spoke about the $750 mil figure a few weeks ago.

For those that say she doesn’t deserve it, well, my thoughts are who really deserves half of anyone’s money when a marriage breaks up, particularly if they weren’t the ones working. Life isn’t always fair, and Tiger knew the risks when he married her and when he cheated, If she gets that amount, well she played the better game this round. Simple as that. Maybe he will think next time he feels like marrying for his image instead of the right reasons. Maybe he will learn from his great mistakes.

  39. Kelaa Khaa says:

This is a theory that came to me while reading the comments – perhaps Tiger did give Elin an STD and that is why she is getting so much?

  40. lucy2 says:

I was thinking the same thing, Fluffy – as part of the settlement, she might be agreeing to keep quiet about whatever she knows, which could drastically wrecking his future earnings.

I’m kind of doubting the %750 mil figure, but maybe it’s part now, plus part of future earnings, not to exceed $750 mil total? I don’t know.

Whatever the end result, he has no one to blame but himself.

  41. ctkat says:

Impossible that she would get more than half of his current assets. Impossible.

However, she might have a deal that includes 50% of current marital assets (which would be, based on estimated net worth of Tiger around $300-$500 million) AND some sort of alimony, child support, percentage of future earning for a set period of time deal.

I can’t imagine anyway that the total figure of that would be $750 million, though. After getting half of current assets, she won’t get another quarter billion in child support and alimony- there’s no way.

Still, I fully think that she is entitled to half, and should get it.

  42. LetsSee says:

Good for her! This is probably an amount to be paid over her lifetime and against his lifetime earnings having nothing to do with years of marriage, or a prenup. Elin was forced into putting a price and value on her life. Although the money is not all cash, probably from interest acrued, real estate holding, annuities from his FedEx earnings, art work, insurances and many business investments, stocks/bonds etc., Elin needs to be able to continue to have the ability to live life and she along with the kids, will now have the security thats will enable them to stay beyond the public eye as Tiger will be in the public eye forever.

  43. Strawberry says:

We’re trusting Radar Online as a source now? Because they’ve been so right in the past, as others above have said…

Until a definitive statement comes out, I think she’s going to keep him sweatin’

  44. Mrs Odie 2 says:

She will become the patron saint of goldiggers everywhere.

She deserves to have her children well supported. She deserves 1/2 of his earnings for the years they were married. Period.

  45. Marjalane says:

Uh, gee you think the big pay off has anything to do with what she knows and might be threatening to speak of in interviews? Tiger and his minders are desperate to get him whitewashed and back on the endorsement moneytrain. I think what we KNOW about scuzzboy Tiger might be a drop in the bucket to what he really is.

  46. Orbit says:

That’ll buy a lot of Störklash end tables at IKEA.

  47. Ben says:

@ Theresa he is worth the amount of money people invest in him.
An example. The Victorian government (state of Australia) paid him 3 million (tax payer) dollars to appear at the Australian Masters.
People complained but Tiger generated 30 mill back to the government via his appearance.
I’d certainly give him 10’s of millions of dollars if he generates those returns.

  48. MsTriste says:

I guess that means we’ll never get to hear her side of the story. That makes me wonder what kind of stuff she could have said about Tiger, that he’s willing to spend so much for her to not talk about it.

  49. Vibius says:

No spouse should ever be entitled to that much money regardless of what kind of slime Tiger is. If she wants that kind of life for her or her kids, she should earn the money herself. She should get half of everything earned when married, but thats it. Anything he makes before or after are his. Minus a reasonable child support payment of 2-4 grand per kid. Granted you cant spoil a kid for that much but you can easily raise one. I understand being a man, on a gossip blog, that I am going to be in the minority on this, but outside of making sure the kids are taken care of (not spoiled rotten). Why should he pay his spouse for what he made before he met her and after they divorced? IF she wants that lifestyle then she needs to stay with the scumbag.

  50. really says:

    being his wife PAYS OFF!!!!!

  51. budsonly says:

To hear some of you on this board, Elin should be satisfied with a couple grand a month plus the house. Tiger Woods lives large. And he “accustomed” his wife to that lifestyle. Multiple estates, planes, yachts…

Why shouldn’t she go for the $? Next year he’ll have an Elin-clone on his arm. Couple of years after that, new wife and kids. Why should she slink away with 50 or even 100 mil when he has the potential to earn another billion over the course of his career? Why should his 2nd, 3rd wife and groupings of children get the vast majority of his estate?

Especially since she ate the lions share of his s**t.

  52. eternalcanadian says:

Way to go Elin! The way I look at it, considering Tiger has admitted to having over 100 mistresses, and already has a child (and likely more to come as it is already known he didn’t practice safer sex) Elin is well within her rights to protect both her and her two children from a sociopath liar.

It is also very possible Tiger gave Elin a STD or two. There is no way a guy can stick his stick into that many places without a condom and not get something along the way. So let’s add in medical and psychological damages in getting a STD from one’s husband.

Tiger definitely has the money. His endorsements before the shit hit the fan made him one of the richest sports personalities in the world. And apparantly even though he’s a ho-dog, the endorsements haven’t stopped and if he wins a PGA event or two, they’ll keep coming in.

I wonder who that lawyer in California was? Gloria Allred springs to mind, hah.

  53. mags says:

someone mentioned earlier that perhaps she was getting her children’s inheritance now. i’d say that would be smart as hell. you never know what could happen in the future, get that money in a trust for the kids cause never know what their daddy’s next ho is going to be like

  54. Westcoaster says:

What ever amount Elin gets you can be sure it will be a large enough amount to keep her from appearing on Oprah or writing a book detailing her life with Tiger. Just remember he paid off the first mistress. If he has nothing to hide why pay her off? What is he afraid of people finding out? Everyone in the world already knows he has been sleeping around

  55. budsonly says:

Westcoaster, I have always believed the reason he paid off Uchitel had very little to do with sex and everything to do with TW trying to hide the deep emotional connection he had with her.

After golden showers, anal sex and threesomes there really wasn’t much Uchitel could have added…no, I think early on he still had hopes of saving his marriage..& whatever he text, emailed to Uchitel would have would have made saving his marriage impossible.

  56. CarinC4 says:

I think she has dirt on him………..like major freaky-diky (ha!) kinky weird SCANDALOUS dirt on him that could ruin his career even more than the 10 plus waitresses and porn-stars (if thats truly possible).

Cuz i mean…..wat are u going to do wit 750 MILLION DOLLARS????? Swim in a literal pool of gold coins like in that old cartoon…..Duck Tales i think?? Wit mr. scrooge?

  57. CarinC4 says:

But i shouldnt talk…..if my husband had that kind of money…..AND not only had he cheated on me once….but twice…but…with over 10 people no less with NO PROTECTION……i would have taken him for all he was worth…and smile about it.

  58. hanh says:

If my husband cheated on me and we had no children, I would take enough of his money so he could feel some pain and then have nothing to do with him. I wouldn’t expect alimony. I’d want to cut him out of my life completely.

If we had children, I would take him for everything he was worth because he not only broke his vows to me, but the children as well – destroying their lives. And who knows, once he marries the next woman, he would totally forget his kids and cheat them out of support. I’d make sure I’d get everything up front to put in a trust fund for them so I wouldn’t have to worry about someone so obviously untrustworthy.

  59. whatsgoodforthegoose says:

So #57 and #58, if your husbands caught YOU cheating, should they take everything you own and laugh in your face while doing it?

  60. bellaluna says:

Add in future medical costs for physical and psychological treatment for Elin and the children. Even if (and that’s a big IF) he didn’t give one or more of them a little souvenir STD, all 3 will definitely need treatment for abandonment issues. Not to mention how the children will feel when they find out what a man-ho their sperm-donor is.

  61. budsonly says:

You guys give it a rest with the “ruined the children’s lives”. It’s always sad when people get a divorce especially when the kids are that young. They’ll have no memory of a traditional family. But ruined? How? Their lifestyle won’t change & they have a strong, protective mother.

Anyway by the time they hit 5th grade, the way American values are headed, 2/3 of their class will be “ruined” as well.

  62. Zaia says:

I don’t care about the money. Money isn’t the issue here. I bet you he’s worth than more 1B$.
What I find disgusting in this story is this guy spends most of his life pretending to be someone he was never close to be in real life. He lied over and over again to his family, his fans, the media, the sponsors … And here he is again on a golf course with a bunch of idiots rooting for him as if nothing has happened.
He fooled everybody around him who truly believed him as a good decent family guy. He was not only great on a golf course but off the golf course.
We all believed him when he said a few months ago on tv FAMILY ALWAYS COMES FIRST while he was sleeping with more bimbos he can recall of.
What kind of man is capable to live a double life like he did for so long without having some sense of guilt or remorse is beyond me ???
I believe he must be a sociopath. In most of the pictures with Elin she’s leaning to him and showing him her love and here he is like a cold robot .. Yuck he’s a POS plain and simple. Any man who can destroy his family for NOTHING is beyond pathetic. I don’t care if he’s great at golf . Jack was an awesome golfer but also and more importantly a great gentleman, a true family man .
I don’t feel any sympathy for him now – and I used to be a huge fan of him – he knew what he was doing.
I just wish Elin and the kids to find some peace in their lives and true love.
Elin was a fantastic wife for him : discreet, low key, family oriented, but it wasn’t enough. I don’t think he will find another one like her.
I’m glad she finally get rid off him as she deserves soooooooooooooooo much better this jerk gave her.
I truly feel sorry for the kids. They are the ones who will bear this shame for a long long time !!

  63. Joanna says:

No, I don’t think she should get half of his assets. I think it should depend on whether she was working or not. If she was working, she has money of her own and doesn’t need to get half of his. If she wasn’t working, she might need some money until she gets a job. She can take care of herself. As far as the kids go, she should get reasonable child support. I broke up with an ex once, and had to move in with my mom for awhile. It sucks, but that’s what happens when you break up. She shouldn’t be able to take voo-coo money despite what he did. It’s 2010, make your own money, honey. You might be poorer in material goods, but you’ll be better off without him.

  64. wpolscemamymocneseo says:

I always insisting my dad that not all headlines posted online are original but this post can be an exceptional to my rule.

  65. Thanks for any other excellent article. The place else may anybody get that kind of information in such an ideal manner of writing? I’ve a presentation next week, and I am at the search for such information.
