I was wrong earlier, the (reduced) prison sentence is solely to do with breaches of his bail conditions, not to do with renewed drug-taking. Which makes a prison sentence all the more pointless and possibly potentially detrimental at this stage. Stupid idiot. Just as his career was getting back on track.

I agree somewhat with glitterati, but then there’s the issue of his ever so numerous court “visits” per year. Since that is what they amount to — stopping by to say hi to his judge buddy.

The funny thing about this is he used to look like such a waste case. It was infuriating to see the judge pat him on the head, over and over. But that was pre-Winehouse (P.W.)

he doesnt “always” wear that hat. while its true that this shot gives evidence of some weight or bloating on, your remarks on the appearance of the man in the photograph are strangely senseless.

The reason they’ve been lenient is that his drug crimes are basically small scale: He’s mostly just destroying himself. He hasn’t shot anyone, he hasn’t been caught driving under the influence, he hasn’t been caught dealing. He’s just a user. Locking him up won’t stop him from doing drugs - there’s plenty of drugs in prison - it just means that the British government have to pay to keep him in a jail cell while he’s getting high. Why waste the money?
