Sarah Jessica Parker was on the Conan O’Brien show last night to promote her new movie Smart People, which opens in the US tonight. Conan brought up the fact that unlike her character Carrie Bradshaw on Sex and the City, Sarah Jessica isn’t comfortable talking to her friends about sex. She tried to describe why she gets nervous and embarrassed and avoids discussing intimate issues with her friends, and her face and neck got flushed and she had some trouble even talking about it in general terms:
Sarah Jessica Parker: “I am not comfortable having any kind of intimate conversation at all… I don’t like the tone and I don’t like the subject. It’s not like I think others who do it are morally corrupt and vulgar and crass. I’m just simply embarrassed.
“I don’t even want to think about what they’re talking about. And sometimes when I feel the landscape changes and all the heads move in, literally a friend will say ‘Oh wait, Sarah Jessica’s here.’ You know, and then they will talk about the primary or some other less ribald, salty, cheeky…”
Conan O’Brien: “Even the way you’re talking about it, it’s clear you’re not comfortable. You’re using 18th century language! ‘This cheeky display of emotion between man and his lady!’”
Sarah Jessica Parker: “Look I’m getting a rash… I wish I was inclined, because people love the topic, people like to be intimate…”

Parker said she has no moral objections to people talking about it, and that it’s a good thing that other people feel comfortable enough to discuss it.
Given how much trouble Parker had talking about sex on Conan you have to give her credit for getting over that and being able to have the frank sexual discussions that were common on Sex and The City. She must be able to separate that from her personal issues talking about it, because she looked completely mortified describing her problem with sex talk to Conan.
Parker’s “Sex and The City” costar and rumored on-set rival, Kim Cattrall, has authored two frank books on sex, “Satisfaction: The Art of the Female Orgasm

Daisy, Sarah Jessica Parker and Carrie Bradshow are not one and the same. It’s called acting. On SitC she was READING a script. That’s a little different from talking about your personal life.

Everyone has the right to their opinion, but sometimes people are just shitty, bottom line. I think she’s lovely, inside and out. I get so bored with the perfect ones, I don’t care if I never see another Marisa Miller post. Besides, SJP has an AMAZING body.

She’s always had that stance; she made comments like that years ago. She claims to be very modest and is uncomfortable wearing bikinis at the beach and only wears one-pieces. If you look at her red carpet and street photos, she usually isn’t wearing anything skanky.
Apparently there’s a lot of things she’ll do for her roles that she doesn’t do otherwise. She wears a gold bikini in some of the opening sequences of Sex and the City.

scout7pg, shut up, she’s an actress, she doesn’t look like a supermodel, what’s the big deal? She’s a lovely woman who is very talented, and it’s nice to see unique-looking people in Hollywood rather than the usual cut and paste face that all the women seem to have.
