Elisabetta Canalis is still holding on to George Clooney, but for how much longer?

70755ep_canalis_b-gr_01

Life is just one big party for Elisabetta Canalis, right? These are photos of Eli performing (appearing?) on an Italian cabaret show yesterday. She looks about as interesting as a wax statue. But that’s how we know she’s acting, right? I wonder if she wore underwear for this appearance. Probably not.

Anyway, things are looking reasonably good for Eli. She did end up going to John Krasinski and Emily Blunt’s wedding with George on Lake Como over the weekend, there are even photos of her there. Do you think she asked George if there was a chance he would ever marry her? Or is she too smart for that? I used to think she was smart. Now, not so much. Now I just think she’s sexy and she’s up for whatever kinky activities George is into and she doesn’t mind getting as much financially and professionally from this relationship as possible. Does that make her smart? I don’t know.

But yes, things are going well. Her episode arc is still going on Leverage, and George might even be able to buy her another role on television – or maybe even a movie! At the very least, he’ll buy her another “modeling” campaign. She won’t have to make random cabaret appearances forever. I wonder if she’s going to make it to next year’s Oscars? Do you think she can hold on for that long?

One can only hope…that it would mean no more “guest appearances” on any TV show I actually like to watch on a regular basis. And they are few & far between, let me tell you.

  2. YeaRight!!! says:

Has George ever brought one of his g/f to the Oscars 2 yrs in a row??

    I don’t think so.

Her shelf life is about up.

So she best make every penny she can right now…

Or maybe he gives them all nice little settlement at the end? It’s probably cheaper and safer then buying a prostitute every couple of nights.Or what is the going rate for “beards” now a days?

  3. SolitaryAngel says:

I don’t think the question is whether Eli is “smart” enough to hold onto him, it’s whether George is bored enough to look somewhere else. Which I think he will be!

  4. cringe-worthy says:

It looks to me like she snuck into the frame without his knowledge. I don’t think he realized she was there. Clearly he didn’t want to be seen with her. He doesn’t look at her. I’m conflicted now as to whether I will see any more of his movies, as it’s evident he does not want to continue this charade. It’s really shameful that a publicity relationship with a skank like this has spilled over so far into his personal life that she attended the wedding of one of his friends. I’m betting that it was Emily and John, rather than George, who insisted she attend. George clearly does not want to be around her. The news of Emily’s wedding will now forever be associated with this skank. The whole thing is just gross.

  5. Obvious says:

Was Leverage even on last night? All I saw was Forrest Gump on repeat.

  6. cringe-worthy says:

I will also add that the fact that she did not politely decline the invitation is more evidence that she has no class or manners. She knew the wedding was for family and close friends only, and she knew the invitation to her was a polite gesture, but instead of doing the right and gracious thing she did the classless selfish thing.

  7. Fluffy Kitten Tail says:

I am sorry, but she is ugly.

  8. jane16 says:

George is a real conundrum. He tries to be so classy and gentlemanly, and then he ruins it by squiring around women like canalis. I don’t know enough psychology to understand what this means. Does he really despise women? Is the old story that he fell for a beautiful, moral girl that wouldn’t date him when he was young, so now he dates women that remind him of her physically, but do whatever he says, true? Or does he just pick hardcore tough cookie types to be beards? Don’t know, all I know is that there is something about this woman that is soooo annoying. And its not just us, either, you should see my Italian in-laws when she comes on tv!

  9. Kitten says:

Why would her boyfriend not take her to the wedding ? Matt Damon looks sauced in the photo . Looks like Clooney is done with her . Look at the pic of her hanging all over him , he’s got that get your paws off of me look . She will get her walking papers after the awards season . I feel bad for her . I hope she stays in the tabloids ! I hope she has a good career . I think people are way too hard on her . If she were dateing someone like John goodman she would be worshiped by the public . Because she dates Clooney everyone hates her . I like her !

  10. jane16 says:

Leverage was on last night, and thankfully, she wasn’t on it. Her acting is so bad its funny. She’s supposed to be some badass spy that threatens to kill the leverage team if they don’t do what she tells them to, all the while she’s staring at Tim Hutton like she’s terrified. Its a ridiculous scenario & looks like it was made up and added to the season for her (in fact, that’s what we’ve heard from others in ent ind).

  11. jane16 says:

Kitten, a lot of her unlikeability is due to the fact that she comes off as utterly conceited and arrogant. We’ve seen her twice up close, and if the arrogance is acting, then its the only acting she’s successful at. Also, she was extremely rude for no reason to a friend who was trying to be nice to her. Frankly, I think she’s just a stuck up b*tch. I also think she thinks she’s a goddess. On that note, look at the lines in her face when she smiles, she’s way too young to have her face crack like that just from smiling. She should lay off the ciggies & suntanning, stat. Aging fast.

  12. hottathanholywatta says:

she’s a wonderful beard for him

  13. DetRiotgirl says:

Damn, you guys are really harsh! I don’t find her particularly likable. But, I also don’t think she’s earned this level of hate. I mean, who is she really? I feel like the level of anger I see on this page is so disproportionate to who she is.

She’s just another in a long line of Clooney conquests. I prefer to reserve the level of digust I see here for someone like Lohan; someone who nearly killed three people with her drunken escapades and really deserves it. Eli may be useless, but she’s also nothing special or out of the ordinary.

That said, I’m really not understanding why people are so repulsed by her going to that wedding. I mean, even if their relationship is ending, isn’t it sort of customary to bring your girlfriend with you to your friend’s wedding? Maybe I’m missing something here. Are John and Emily super private or something? And, if so, why would they invite her? I’m just kind of lost on that one.

  14. lucy2 says:

I’m not surprised she was at the wedding, she’s his plus 1, but wow, that’s some guest list otherwise!
I bet she’s on her way out. He seems to like them until they feel famous in their own right, and then out they go. I don’t get his taste in women anyway. She seems a little obnoxious, and I don’t think she’s all that pretty.

  15. cringe-worthy says:

Of course she should have accepted Emily’s and John’s invitation IF she were Clooney’s real girlfriend. But she’s not his real girlfriend. She’s his publicity relationship. As always, she did the classless selfish thing instead of putting others before herself.

  16. Sumodo1 says:

I’ll bet the British and Italian tabs are waaaaay more up-to-date about her skanky exploits. Especially when Jane 16 says her Italian inlaws are disgusted when they see her on TV.

There’s got to be more than just what we see on the surface.

Come on, I want the real dirt, plus why Elisabetta was persona non grata at Emily Blunt’s wedding.

  17. MrEd says:

She’s not Clooney’s conquest. She is his employee. She does what he tells her to do and he pays her. Very simple arrangement. There was no reason other than Emily Blunt’s politeness and Canalis’ enormous ego for her to be there.

She is delusional enough to believe that she had a right to be at that wedding and party and doesn’t realize she was only invited because Emily was being polite. Clooney looks like he could care less if she jumped overboard on that yacht. It would probably be a relief to him.

  18. Tazina says:

I think she’s very attractive. She must know the lay of the land when it comes to George. It’s all speculation as to what she thinks about the future with him, etc. From all appearances, the two of them are having a great time. Why analyze the future? It’s really a waste of time.

  19. cringe-worthy says:

    Well said, MrEd.

  20. Beth says:

I used to think Elisabetta was somewhat pretty but now she looks manly in most photos.

  21. Nuharoo says:

I know everyone is bashing Elisabetta, but what does it say about Clooney that he goes for these women? That he gets involved with them and ‘hires’ them? He’s a total pig to women, yet people sometimes think he ‘deserves better?’

  22. Lulu says:

Who cares how much longer? He’ll quickly replace her with another one just like her and all the rest. He’s a cad!

I guess he was either really hurt by his marriage or he’s gay.

  23. MrEd says:

#20 it says a lot about Clooney. You said it. He continues to parade these white trash groupies around in public and expects his fans not to notice. It’s working against him, this time. Previously he’s been able to recover, but Canalis’ expiration date is way past due.

He has a choice – keep her and continue to look like a p*ssy whipped weakling or be a man and stand up for himself and get rid of her. You’re too old for the younger guys to suddenly become your fans, you don’t do the kind of movies that the 20 year olds stand in line to see and face it, pal, she’s no Megan Fox for them to drool over. So without the younger guys to replace the older base fans that he’s losing. Well, he’s looking like a prime loser.

  24. L says:

The fact that she was invited just shows what class acts Emily Blunt and John K are. Isn’t it usually long term relationships that get invited? Not fly by night girlfriends. Really they only invited her cause of their guest, and she shouldn’t have gone. Ah well.

  25. cringe-worthy says:

Canalis’s publicity people need to be focusing on how they are going to spin the “break-up” rather than continuing to waste their time trying to sell the fake relationship.

  26. My2cents! says:

Of course they would have to invite her to their wedding, isn’t she “suppose” to be GC’s girlfriend? I don’t like her either, but I don’t see what the big deal is. As much as George probably despises her, for whatever reason he wants us to believe that she is his gf. Didn’t he just release those fireworks photo op pics? So, yes folks that’s why she’s at the wedding., George wanted her there. Don’t get pissed at Eli, get pissed at George. He’s directing this nonsense. At first folks were wondering IF she attended the wedding, now that pics have shown up, they’re pissed that she’s there. WTF? LOL

And Matt Damon is as gay as jellybeans. He looked hammered while slobbing down his beard of a wife. He and George both try entirely too hard.

  27. cringe-worthy says:

Did any of you see the episode of “30 Rock” in which a movie star contracted a publicity relationship with Jenna? He did it in order to put some rumors to rest. Where do you think Tina Fay got that idea? Everyone who’s been paying attention understands what this is. And no, it’s not that George is gay, but given this ridiculous publicity arrangement, I understand why people think that’s what he’s trying to hide.

  28. Marjalane says:

A few days back someone called this perfectly: She’s like that chick on an old Seinfeld episode that would look O.K., or even sort of pretty in some lights, and then hideous in others. The total poor man’s Cindy Crawford if you will.

And by the way, this is a site designed to allow people to say whatever the hell they want about trashy celebrities, good or bad. So for some of you to come on and LECTURE others about their opinions is really an empty, pathetic gesture. Lighten up!

  29. jane16 says:

I don’t have a problem with her going to the wedding. Its normal when you invite a single person to an event, that you invite the person & a guest, and canalis is living with him and whether by business arrangement or not, is his current companion, so it seems perfectly natural. Also, Krasinski & Blunt have been staying at Clooney’s villa since the beginning of the month, so why would they invite GC & not her? That would be weird.

Nuharoo, good point you raised. I don’t think he deserves better, just wish he would get someone classier and nicer.

  30. Messenger says:

My take is that she wasn’t invited.she just showed up. in the second pic it looks like he was yelling at her. the first looks photoshopped. is she wearing white? emily and john would have done whatever gc wanted regarding a guest. i have gone to plenty of weddings where i was the only one invited .. no guest. if the couple is known to the bride and groom they would issue an invitation with both names on it if they want both to attend. if the invitation does not say JOEBLOW and guest, only JOEBLOW gets to go. The way he is looking at that camera I don’t think he was expecting the paps…which means she brought them. that clocks a ticking….

  31. snowball says:

I don’t know what it says about the three of them, but Kelly Preston lived with George for a couple of years way back when he first got his pig, before she married John Travolta.

Make what gay references you will. 😀

I’m not sure what to think about Canalis. I’m almost thinking George is just giving up on speed dating and keeping her around because he’s tired. I doubt anyone was pissed that she was at the wedding, if they were going to be, George would have known, he’s not that idiotic.

No, it’s not just long-term relationships that get invited. That’s why a lot of invites say so-and-so “and guest.” Or if it’s a fancy schmancy deal, you tell your best pal, “don’t worry, it’s okay if you bring your new girl/boyfriend.” Why be tacky and say, “leave the new piece at home, we don’t want her to sully our day?”

THAT would be ridiculous and graceless.

  32. cringe-worthy says:

Jane16, I don’t think anyone has a problem that Emily invited her. We have a problem with her accepting when it would have been the gracious thing to politely decline a wedding meant for friends, family, and their non-publicity partners.

  33. cringe-worthy says:

And of course it was crass to wear an all-white dress, which she intended to stir up speculation about whether she will be getting married next. I was taught that it is impolite to try to draw attention away from the bride and that a woman should not wear all white to a wedding or wedding party unless she is the bride.

  34. MrEd says:

Messenger interesting that you would say that. Canalis was *not* on the boat with George that took him out to the yacht. So did she come later? She is *not* in most of the pictures (thankfully) and Clooney is seen walking around and talking to everyone, having a great time. If she was there the whole time he was doing his best to ignore her. Except in those few pictures with her where he suddenly looks sulky.

  35. Messenger says:

The party boat was for the family and friends of the b&g. why would the b&G have paps at their pre-wedding party? she brought them and I can’t imagine anyone was pleased.

  36. cringe-worthy says:

Interesting takes, MrEd and Messenger. It hadn’t even occurred to me that she may have just shown up on her own or that she invited the pap, but I should remember who we’re talking about here. She does have some sort of arrangement with that Ramey photographer, as she’s given him exclusive access to sets in the past.

  37. MrEd says:

I’m pretty sure the paps were tipped off at George’s Villa the day of the ceremony too. The PR machine took pains to put out the word that the wedding would take place at a different location on Como..yet the paps knew exactly where to park their lens in order to catch a money shot of Emily & John as they turned one corner of the villa. Because of the trees covering most of the area a camera would need to be trained on one clear spot and waiting for the b & g to turn the corner. So who told them where to look? I guess we know who she was texting and talking to on her Blackberry in 2 out of 4 shots we have of her now.

  38. Nuharoo says:

“Nuharoo, good point you raised. I don’t think he deserves better, just wish he would get someone classier and nicer.”

I know that people coo and go “Ohhh, it’s GEORGE CLOONEY,” but he is at the end of the day, an actor, not a diplomat, not a tycoon, an actor. A REAL classier woman wouldn’t be interested because a lot of Hollywood men expect their wives and serious girlfriends to walk two steps behind, look pretty and be socially gracious, and make them look good.

Decent women don’t bother with men on that level, mainly because male actors expect too much. I’m a businesswoman with my own company and if I’m going to walk two steps behind, it won’t be with an actor. He isn’t worth it. He is a man of no standing outside of the entertainment industry and in the real world, he doesn’t count for much. Why go to the UN with him and work like a fiend to try to make him look good?

Why let him degrade me by expecting me to look deferential while he makes a fool of himself? He’s wealthy, but why would I want to be known as his ‘latest piece,’ which is how I would be known at first.

Why would any other successful, intelligent woman bother with him? All know he is a bad long term bet, but would a marriage be really fulfilling

  39. cringe-worthy says:

Notice that in the third shot of George with her, in which he finally agreed to pose with her once and smile, his glass is empty. LOL. He had to get toasted before he could even look at her.

  40. cringe-worthy says:

Messenger, I just realized that I must have been looking at a different set of pics than the ones you mentioned. I think I just now saw the one you were talking about here http://www.etonline.com/gallery/2010/07/89073/index.html?x=70&y=13&photo=3
It looks like he is telling her to leave and she looks upset.

  41. MrEd says:

I think he is telling her to leave and she has a “No, I will not” smug look on her face. Or he could simply be pointing and explaining something and she has a smug look on her face. Whatever it was he was saying he then walks away from her with an angry look and she looks like she is looking down at something (Blackberry?) with a smugly determined look on her face. Either way her arrogance shines and he wasn’t happy in her presence. Details beyond that aren’t necessary to me.

  42. Wayne Coxcsmith says:

Clooney is trying to be Pierce Brosnan but he will never achieve that level class.

  43. spotchecker says:

an open letter to george clooney:

    dear george,
spotchecker here, and for a moment, i’d like to be a little more serious, but not too much. your fans concern for you may seem unnecessary to the degree which it has been expressed on these pages, but i’m sure you’re a smart enough man to realize that it actually speaks well of you if you know how to use it.
you’re a smart guy in a stupid situation. ever since matt hooked up w/ luciana, brad w/ angie, so on and so forth, for some reason, you’ve been showing up to awards ceremonies with these ‘girlfriends’ that your fans know are not really your friends. we get that you want to keep your personal life private, and as your fans, that’s actually one of the things that many of us like about you. pets are one thing, and i really do wish you’d get some more pets again, because i positively love stars & their pets, but ‘personal’ relationships are different, and quite seriously, i just want to see the results of your film work.
i wish your PR people, or whomever let you get involved w/ this woman who has the emotional aptitude of a 3-year old on steroids, would lighten up, and let you attend those classy ceremonies w/ your mom [she’s quite lovely], your dad, or whomever makes you smile. really.

i know you’re not gay. i know this, because the several times i’ve passed you by on the street [and it was definitely you] when you were riding your motorcycle, or walking around in that beard of yours [the one that actually grows out of your face], my gaydar told me so. i hope you understand that i wasn’t being rude, when, in typical NewYorker fashion, i totally ignored you, not that you were asking for attention either. you were just on your way somewhere, and in the name of public safety when you were on your bike, and because i was so wrapped up in my own universe when i saw you on the street, i ignored you. [actually, once i quickly said to myself soon afterwards, “oh! that was george clooney!” and then i quickly went back to self-obsessing about whatever i had been self-obsessing about.]

    so, in conclusion:
    1. your fans support your having a single, bachelor life, if that’s what you like, prefer, or find convenient. alert whomever in your PR staff/dept of this fact. you’re the boss.
    2. if you should get another ‘girlfriend’, we hope she makes you smile for the right reasons [which would include not breaking the contract].
    3. you’re not gay.

    w/ mild concern,
    one of your fans

p.s. elisabetta, honey,..it’s time for your nap. daddy’s exhausted.

  44. Messenger says:

she is always on that blackberry..if it was she who tipped the paps and I’m sure it was, she made a ton of money off those photos..I just watched ET and there were quite a few photos … in the one where they are smiling at each other I think he just tried to make the best of it and posed for the shot…her name is mud and she will sink to bottom of the slime pit the minute the split is announced..she has nothing to recommend her. and he has mucho clout in hollywood. I will say it one more time: this woman should have never been lifted out of obscurity..there is something so vile about her and crass…I guess she wants to make as much money as she can now so she won’t have to dance on tables anymore. the vipers are recommending that ‘now that she is in high demand there are festivals and fairs around the country in Ticino that are waiting with open arms.’ gc will need to be steam cleaned when this is all over

  45. sonola trip says:

If Canalis and Clooney are fighting I really hope Canalis isn’t secretly tape recording their fights, especially if George has been drinking.

There’s no way George would ever say anything truly hateful like Gibson no matter how drunk he got, but we are all capable of saying things that would at least be publicly humiliating when drunk and angry. All Canalis would need is something embarrassing on tape and she’s got some “leverage” against him.

How much do you want to bet Canalis is watching this Gibson situation and taking notes?

  46. TeeTee says:

She is a he–that face, just like a tranney..or maybe a man that WAS a woman…but got it changed when HE was a teen.

Until he births a baby, I’ll never believe otherwise.

  47. mai tai says:

Isnt about time for him to switch to a new ‘girlfriend’/’cover’? Tired of seeing this same one over and over again-she does look like the ‘poor mans’ Cindy Crawford’.

George, we dont care if you’re gay or not. You’re HOT HOT HOT, so who cares!

  48. notachance says:

I would like to weigh in on this. The Italian tabloids aren’t more up to date than anyone else on this (I’m Italian so I know), they actually know LESS about this than the US tabloids, she doesn’t get nearly as much attention on Italian tabloids as she does on the US ones in terms of “her and George Clooney”.She’s normally on there because she was on TV here and she dated football players (one in particular, and I won’t express judgements. Let’s leave it at he was one of the most classless, ignorant men I’ve seen in football over here).

Now, the thing is this. Canalis is FAR from being smart. This is what bothers me about the whole thing, because it means that Clooney isn’t even smart enough to try and have by his side (albeit by agreement) women that are actually SMART. NOBODY knows the terms of this relationship, yet everyone’s on here talking as if they were one of the two people involved. I really do not like Canalis and as an Italian I’m EMBARASSED that she’s even appearing on US TV, given her ridiculously poor acting skills (not to mention the fact she doesn’t speak a word of English).

That said, I have seen her in person more than once and A)she is gorgeous, that is not up for discussion B)she doesn’t look like a man AT ALL, far from it. I’ve seen her at the seaside, no makeup no nothing, and she’s absolutely gorgeous.

She’s definitely classless and rude, always has been, always will be, you can’t teach manners to someone that ignorant. But this? Reflects really poorly on George Clooney too. I’m sorry but there’s no justification for dating someone like this if he’s a smart, polite man. Whether it is for real or not it doesn’t make a difference. He must pick his company (whether real or not) MUCH more carefully and with much more taste.

I don’t think Canalis realized she was just invited to this wedding out of politeness, and I don’t think ANYONE here can know since I don’t think anyone is friends with the actors in question, thus nobody can claim they KNOW she was invited for this and that reason. What tabloids claim isn’t exactly the truth, far from it.

So I would say yes, she deserves criticism, but people should get a LOT more perspective on this and A)start giving Clooney the criticism he, too, deserves for being in such a situation and B)stop talking as if they were Clooney or Canalis (thus knowing what the relationship is about) or if they were the person who invited Canalis at the wedding.

Again, I’m embarassed that an Italian of such a low level is so prominently featured in the US, but that doesn’t mean all that’s said on here is justified.

In short? George, please get a clue and get rid of her, and while you’re at it, STOP DATING BIMBOS, whether for real or not. (And yes she’s definitely a bimbo).

  49. notachance says:

#42 That is most definitely true. But not many men have Pierce Brosnan’s class and manners. With all due respect for George Clooney, whom I absolutely like, and whose brains make him really attractive (regardless of the clearly good looks)he can’t even remotely compare. Him dating Canalis just about did it for me. He’s a smart man, he should do a LOT better than this. Whether it is for real or not. And re:photos. PLEASE, reality check. Most on here are just imagining things.. he’s pointing at something and she’s just relaxed on the boat and people say he’s telling her to go away? I saw another set of photos and they looked all lovey-dovey (not that I think it’s for real). And photos don’t tell anything in this sense. NOTHING, because a moment when you click may make the photo look like the opposite of what was happening.

So once again… some reality check for Mr Clooney is long overdue. Canalis is a bimbo, but if he goes around with her? He isn’t much better, sorry. I want to see him date a woman WITH BRAINS, not just looks. And someone who can actually speak English and have meaningful conversations with him. Seriously. This girl can’t hold a conversation in Italian, let alone in English. Sorry, Clooney looks really bad for putting himself in such a thing, whether it is for real or not.

  50. purelife says:

i dont understand you people. i cant really stand people hating for one they dont personally know. I have to agree with DetriotGirl. people here, just seen her photos and in an instant because shes Clooney’s girl, they hated her for that.she dont even go out that much and sit for many interviews or parade everyday like lohan, kardashians jersey shore, speidi, octomom, kate g nor even act like women from view.
I cant also understand why some here strongly insist she didnt politely declined an invitation, or the wedding invitation is such such a big big issue for them on how clooney, canali or the couple handled it. just too funny, as if people here are like Canali’s assistants or Clooney’s shadows and that they know what exactly happened.

And also its weird to know people are also wondering how other peoples relationship would last. its like also saying, “when grandpa and grandma going to divorce? I cant wait it to happen.” I mean, should it be our problem? Let them live their lives. theyre having fun, theyre still together and looks happy. and for canali’s job… who the hell are we to question on how she earn money? If she would stop working because u dislike her job, would u feed her? As long as she dont kill for a living, or dont organize Burglar bunch let her be. And for CLooney’s choice of women, so what? How about yourself? Why did you choose your bf, your husband, your gf? Have you ever asked yourself why you got such taste? You would feel bad if someone tell you that your bf or hubby looks like a cactus and your taste is extremely disgusting.

Canali is European, she dont care much actually on what other people say. theyre carefree but they have direction. only most americans complain a lot and too judgmental.

  51. Music says:

George has been gay for years, the stupid tab people and others think he is “beyond hot” and dates someone new al the time, he must be a playboy. No. He just dosent want to get married, and have a wife blackmail him out of half or more of his fortune.

I bet he gets more turned on by Brad Pitt, then he does Halle Berry or Angelina Jolie.

  52. cringe-worthy says:

notachance, you’re entitled to your opinion, but many people do not find Canalis attractive. Maybe it is a cultural difference, but I honestly don’t think she is anything special to look at. As for her attendance at the wedding, we don’t know whether she was there. It’s possible that she was only at the party the day before. The pap who snuck photos of the actual wedding didn’t get any pics of her there, and being that she has “papdar,” she would likely have gotten into a shot if she were there. There is no question in my mind that it was inappropriate of her to attend even the party, but in her mind it’s always only about her. And why shouldn’t she wear a long white dress? After all, she is the freakin’ queen, a legend in her own mind. You do have a point though that Clooney is ultimately responsible for all of this. What I’m starting to see is that there are parasites all feeding off of him and each other and getting their cut. Canalis get her cut, she has her publicity people who get their cut, and the favored pap gets his cut. But ultimately Clooney is responsible for all of this. If he doesn’t want fleas, then he needs to take a flea bath and rid himself of them.

One of the previous posters is exasperated with us because they give us pics of her on the boat and we are still not buying. How low do you have to be to work for someone like canalis?

  55. Messenger says:

She reminds me of someone I knew in HS. Also Italian also a virgo (who ever said it was the sign of the virgin never met these two). This girl was really large on top with an alright face. Dumb as wood. She too was oblivious to everyone and everything but herself and thought she was God’s gift. Over the years she never ceased to amaze us with her stupidity and crudeness. I thought I’d seen the last of her when she dropped out of HS in her senior year. But no. She had one final treat in store: she showed up 8 months pregnant in a yellow bikini to the the senior picnic. She had a great time. The rest of us were speechless. Last I heard, she had fulfilled her destiny: waiting tables in a topless coffee shop in Las Vegas. Sometimes justice prevails.

  56. notachance says:

Cringeworthy, I don’t think finding her attractive or not is a cultural thing. She is, by standard beauty canons (see classic Greece), objectively attractive. People who say she looks manly frankly make me laugh.

May I add that neither you nor anyone else here knows why and how she was invited to the party and/or wedding? So the whole “she’s been rude” comments are completely out of place since nobody knows the actual reason why she was invited. The same way, nobody knows what the actual deal between her and George Clooney is. Nobody here is Emily Blunt or George Clooney or Elisabetta Canalis. I find some of the comments on the photos, too, pretty pathetic. I’ve seen a bunch and they look like they are just fine. No pose, no nothing. People are seeing inexistent fights even in the most innocent photos. People who don’t have a real relationship don’t fight, because there’s nothing to talk about. They either smile or ignore each other, that’s all there is to it.

Very differently from most here, the reason why I doubt this is real isn’t the way she makes her own living (she has always made her own money here, acting on TV and hosting TV shows, including a big primetime sports show where she co-hosted and she certainly didn’t live off other people’s money… other than maybe the vulgar football player she used to date for years).

The reason why I don’t believe this is real is that she is SERIOUSLY dumb AND she can’t speak a word of English (per George Clooney’s own words to interviewer on the red carpet. How embarassing and how really classless of George too to say so, in that case). Since I always thought George Clooney was a smart guy, I would have to completely change my opinion about him if I had to believe he for real was in love with someone so dumb and classless. So THIS is why I have my doubts this is real, and nothing else. That said, Clooney certainly isn’t nearly as smart as I thought he was, or he would get NOWHERE near someone like her, whether it is for a “publicity” relationship or for a real one. He really is showing poor judgement and a fundamental lack of intelligence in doing this. In short? This is not on her more than it is on him. It’s on both of them equally.

    Dear Purelife,

Thank you for posting. I was wondering when Canalis’ people would roll their lazy selves out of bed and hit this thread. But seriously, how do you do it with such amazing consistency? Do you have a list of canned phrases that have been translated into English for you to string together?

    *”She a beautiful European woman.”
*”Americans don’t understand and have poor judgment.”
*”She is a stylish Italian woman.”
“”She doesn’t need George Clooney. She has her own money.”
    *”She is famous in Italy.”
*”She speaks English! The videos can be seen at {insert link to obscure video from 1999)
*”So she doesn’t speak good English on American TV. Many American actors can’t speak Italian!”
*”She will learn. How many actresses (who have 10 years experience) can really act on American TV?”
*Everyone is judging her without knowing her. All you see are her nude pictures on the Internet, her videos [insert obscure soft porn links from 1998 and videos of her shaking her butt in the camera from 2002], her interviews in 15 languages, and how she acts in public with her boyfriends and George Clooney. You don’t know her!”
*”You are all jealous because she is so beautiful and she is with George Clooney.”
*”She is a natural beauty with grace and eloquence.”

OK, so I made up that last one, but you really should consider adding it to your list. It is as believable as anything else Team Canalis is spewing all over the Internet.

@notachance, sometimes people with actual knowledge post on these boards. Saying that no one here knows the truth is probably not accurate. And again, I disagree with your opinion regarding Canalis’s looks and find it laughable. You seem to think you have some special claim to objective reality while the rest of us don’t, yet at the same time you take issue with other people for claiming to know facts. Sorry, but your opinions are worth no more or less than anyone else’s. I’ve been polite enough to not go into detail regarding Canalis’s physical ugliness, but you are prompting me to point out the details. She is short, has a disproportionately long torso and short bow-shaped legs, has very bad skin, has thin hair, has horse teeth and a horse-like appearance to her face particularly in profile. Honestly, I could go to my corner store here and randomly find someone just as attractive. Piles of makeup and Photoshop do not a rare beauty make.
    .
I’ve also had a laugh at Canalis’s PR people who have finally shown up on this thread.

  64. notachance says:

Cringeworthy, I didn’t make up the ancient Greece standards for beauty, it’s history, if you don’t know what I’m talking about, go check it. Those are objective and that was exactly my ponit. Have you seen Canalis in person? You clearly haven’t, because you would know, otherwise, A)that she isn’t short at all B)she isn’t disproportionate either. To judge someone’s looks from photos or footage is a limited perspective to put it mildly. I’ve seen her in person more than once and while I have absolutely no sympathy for her I have eyes and I’m objective enough to recognise beauty where there is some. So no, I’m not claiming (unlike you) to be more “in the know”, I’m just claiming what I saw with my own eyes, and as far as beauty, resorting to the most objective and classic parameter there is. Ancient Greece beauty concept, which is the beauty concept that humanity has lived by ever since “beauty” became a philosophy subject, per the ancient Greek culture.

And besides, Canalis made a living out of the fact of being beautiful, which clearly means people who JUDGE people’s beauty for a living deem her good-looking. That’s good enough to really make me laugh at people who say she’s manly, or who make claims like yours. Seen her in person, and she wasn’t wearing heels. She isn’t short at all. She’s average height. 1 mt 70 cm to be precise. There again if your idea of short is the AMERICAN idea of short, we have a problem. American women are in average way bigger in terms of both height and weight than European women in general so that may be where the problem originates.(as a European woman who’s been working with Americans and travelling and living on and off in the US for the past 15 years, I certainly have had more than a chance to verify this).

That said, I don’t think you’re friend with Clooney, Canalis, Blunt or her husband, so the fact remains that you’ve made claims about Canalis’s rudeness that were completely out of place. Nobody knows why or how she was invited, only the people directly involved know. So it’s up to them to judge. And that said, if you don’t want someone at a party and/or wedding, especially in Hollywood? YOU DO NOT INVITE THEM. It is rude to make up excuses to not go to something once invited, not to mention, once again, nobody here knows exactly why or how she was invited. By the way, I’ve also met Clooney in person (for work, not at parties), and he’s an extremely charming man. Well-spoken and polite. But he isn’t particularly tall, given we’re talking about height. He would look ridiculous with a woman the height of (gorgeous) Gisele Bundchen by his side.

Also as a European? We DO care about what others say, in limited dosage of course. Not like we live our lives based on what others say, but that is the prerogative of intelligent people all over the planet, not just of Europeans.

And once again: this isn’t more on Canalis than it is on Clooney. This whole relationship “supposed” fiasco. If it is fake? It’s in the same exact percentage on him and on her. Actually I’d say it’s more on him than on her because HE is the unattainable one, not her. He’s the one who’s had to make the decision “let’s do it”, certainly not her, given she is a nobody compared to him. Which once again brings us to the previous point: Clooney is far less intelligent than he seems for hanging out with such a classless, dumb girl. And she IS completely classless and dumb. AND NO by no stretch of imagination was she ever considered elegant in this country… Italians have a very high sense of style and she sure as hell doesn’t represent it. Giovanna Mezzogiorno does. Or Caterina Murino http://www.zimbio.com/pictures/adfHzNLdY7f/Extreme+Beauty+Vogue+Milan+Fashion+Week+Womenswear/BFHPJflSyQP/Caterina+Murino (both actresses, and good actresses, especially Mezzogiorno). Certainly not Elisabetta Canalis. She certainly is an attractive girl, but that’s where it ends, unfortunately. For her, and for Clooney.

And no, she does NOT speak English, even Clooney said so himself on the red carpet. (classless of him in that case, I must say).

  65. cringe-worthy says:

@notachance, it’s amazing that you are able to channel the ancient Greeks and speak for them. Can you converse with the Greek gods as well? If so, please tell them I enjoyed their recent fireworks show. Your argument makes as much sense as someone claiming that Paris Hilton is the objective epitome of beauty.

Seriously, though, calm down and take it easy. It is what it is, whatever that is. Nothing you or I or anyone else says here or elsewhere is likely to change any of it. This site is a place where people express whatever opinions they want. If you don’t like that, maybe you should seek out a blog that favors certain points of view over others — there are some out there, but I tend to avoid those myself.

Now, here is an image of your lovely girl:
    http://www.gossipnews.it/tv/sexy_elisabetta_canalis_fotorw.html?id=48ed3a59462a2308eadc7636f8c4e32d&num=2
Maybe you are right, after all. Nothing manly or unattractive there.

  66. notachance says:

And let me specify, I always saw Canalis on holiday at the beach. Zero makeup and in a bikini, and one night with a red t-shirt and white linen pants as she was leaving. There is no better way to see a woman’s beauty than that. And, she is definitely beautiful. By, again, classic beauty standards that have been established thousands of years ago and by which humanity has stood all this time (so they won’t change them for Canalis).

I would advise to focus on her stupidity instead of her looks. Because while her looks are definitely good, nobody will argue that she IS stupid. Just like you can’t argue that she made her own money, she did and it is a fact. Clooney is access to stuff she would only have dreamed of in terms of work and popularity, but that doesn’t change the fact that she made her own money.

Also? She’s got no people to come on here and make claims. She’s not that powerful, at all. You’re giving her WAY too much credit. She’s got a talent agency like everyone and that’s where it ends. They don’t have anyone spending their time checking what US blogs say about her. She isn’t important enough and besides, the first rule of publicity is that as long as fans talk, it’s no problem, whatever they say. Once she’s criticized by people who matter publicly, like other actors, or critics, she or her agent will decide if and when to respond. But blogs? No way. Again, she isn’t important enough to have dedicated people for this (and the whole publicity deal works VERY differently in Italy from how it does in the US. And not in a better way at all, it is far worse and far less professional).

  67. NoWay says:

@notachance – There is no classic standard of beauty. Beauty is subjective along with many cultural issues with beauty. Since you are European, my suggestion is visit one of your many museums and look at the great works of art from all over the world. If you honestly think the standard of beauty is the same then you really aren’t looking very hard. Your contention that because she makes money off her looks she is judged beautiful is wrong. She has made money as a pinup, a sometime model, a dance girl on bad Italian tv, and a girlfriend. In modern times that means she has an attractive body. If that is your definition of beautiful- go for it – but let others have their opinion too. Also, I have seen her in person, and I wouldn’t call her beautiful. I would call her attractive, but she looks way older than early 30’s her skin is bad about to be Italian leather. Sunscreen girl or you will regret it. I never noticed the bow legs, but I really wasn’t looking. I also wouldn’t call her short- around 5′ 6″ If you are tall maybe that would be short to you – subjective again. I didn’t talk to her so I don’t know if she is smart, rude, or for that matter the nicest person and feeds homeless children at night, but when she looks at people she has a very rude look on her face. You see it in photos and you see it in person, like she is looking down on everyone like she is better than you. People who are models usually are better at controlling their faces. But I saw her acting skills so that explains that. Now the other reason I don’t think too highly of her is that women who make a living mostly dating famous and rich men are not really high on my list. This shouldn’t be considered a great achievement that it seems to be now, that enables you to get opportunities others who work for it don’t get.
As far as Clooney goes, I hope he is gay or this is an arrangement gone awry, because if this is his choice. All I have to say is Yuck, and his public persona doesn’t even come close to his real personality at all.

I’m becoming convinced that it was Canalis who tipped off the pap at the wedding. The security must have been astounding. There is no way a pap could have gotten through without help from someone guiding them around security and telling them which paths and routes to take in order to not get caught and get a shot. I think she probably watched from a window, from which she would have gotten a good view of the various security locations, and guided the pap by texting him on her Blackberry. There is also the very real possibility that she took the photos herself from an upper floor window.

She’s done silly antics in the past and he is still with her. Perhaps HE is the one who needs to be blamed. If she IS responsible, just as she was with Twittergate, George looks like a punk. Fake or not, who wears the pants in the relationship? I know she looks like man, but highly doubt she IS one. As far as I’ve always known, George is the man. I mean jeeze, he couldn’t even get to apoligize to Jennifer. Yeah, she took her Twitter page down, but look how long it took her. It amazes me how she gets away with a lot of shit, yet people always seem to blame her and not George. WTF?

  85. cringe-worthy says:

George has to finish this deal. He doesn’t really have as much control over things as people think. There is a lot of money involved, and some other things are at stake. Canalis definitely has an expiration date, it’s just not as soon as most of us would like. I’ve noticed that her peeps have gone around posting that the more people complain about her the longer George will keep her, but that is b.s. It is just their way of trying to keep people from putting her down.

Hi there, GraveDigger. I see that you’ve dropped by to insult Mr. Clooney in the hopes of making Canalis seem somehow better, as seems to be one of the favorite strategies used by her people. Don’t worry about your girl. I’m sure she’s made quite a killing by now.

So what are all of the strategies of Canalis’s PR posters, a.k.a. mean girls? I know of a few.
    1. Insult Clooney. This seems to be a favorite. No matter how awful Canalis looks, try to make Clooney seem worse so that hopefully she will seem better in comparison.
    2. Insult everyone who dislikes Canalis. Don’t bother with trying to get Canalis to improve in any way. It’s far easier to just insult everyone who fails to believe the PR campaign. See MrEd’s post at #62 above for examples of the PR campaign.

    Anyone have more to add?

  89. spotchecker says:

    @#91 GraveDigger:

actually, mostly whining, not laughing going on here. anger management issues, too…lots of pontification earlier on, and then a bit of reporting, back and forth and back and forth, so on and so forth….most of the mocking was done by yours truly, and most of it was directed at she who will not be named. but not all.

  90. GraveDigger says:

No spotchecker and cringe. You’ve got me all wrong. I despise Canalis. If you go back in previous threads you can see this clearly. Most of all I hate what her continued presence is doing to Clooney’s image and reputation. In the end I don’t care about what happens to her. We all know she will fade into Italian obscurity, not even welcome in her own country. She will always be “George Clooney’s ex-girlfriend” and have to depend on that tag line in order to get any work, just as she has to depend on it, and his generosity, to get work now. What she has now is all because of him. When he picked her up last summer she had no career prospects with good reason. In the meantime while pursuing this latest charitable cause Clooney has sacrified a huge part of his fanbase, which he doesn’t seem to care about. I personally feel that’s a strategic mistake. A big one.

So, no, I never thought I would see the day when George Clooney would become a laughingstock (I’m laughing and so are others). He is capable of so much more. I think.

  102. spotchecker says:

    @ 106 Dina:

that would actually be Whitney Houston’s character having sex w/ h-e-r bodyguard, in the movie “The Bodyguard”, also starring Kevin Costner, whose recent attempt, including an appearance before a congressional committee on the Gulf Disaster, resulted in his patented system for separating oil from water, being tested, and last i heard, it was 50%-50%. anyone else hear about that?

    does that answer your question?

  103. The Insider says:

@ Dina. No George is not sexing his bodyguard. He’s sexing his hairdresser, Waldo. They are inseparable. It’s no secret in hollywood that Waldo is responsible for turnin’ George out.

    Celebitchy:
when a “news”, urges and suggests, and causes a certain type of response, relying on the weaknesses of those who read, it’s just rubbish.

  105. spotchecker says:

    @ justine, 109 “Celebitchy:”

    dear justine,
are you trying to save everyone who reads Celebitchy, or just the shmucks who worship george? because really, he is our god, and right now, when i say this i think i speak for the rest of us, he’s all the sexy we can handle.
could you please be more specific? thanx.

  106. MrEd says:

Justine is talking about posting things that “make” everyone talk negatively about Ms. Canalis. Justine loooooves her some Elisabrutta, don’t you, Justine?

  107. spotchecker says:

    @ #111 Mr.Ed:

Thanks for clearing that up and strengthening my resolve Mr.Ed. You, Justine, not so much.

    @spotchecker

you, after reading news that are published with the sole purpose of causing the vulgarity in the answers, how you feel, what is your reaction?

  109. Lorenzo says:

Vulgar persons attract vulgar posts and comments, c’est la vie, poor victim .

  110. spotchecker says:

    @ 108 justine:

re: “you, after reading news that are published with the sole purpose of causing the vulgarity in the answers, how you feel, what is your reaction?”

my reaction is to not play w/ that crowd. as i wrote in my little ‘red carpets for dummies’ drama/whatev, that i wanted to raise the game and not just play it, so i’ve made a choice to do better than post crude comments that are deadenders re: content, ideas, humor.
do i feel canalis & crew deserve a naughty smackdown? you bet’cha! but i think their own crudeness at abusing the privilge of GC’s influence on her career should be fully exposed, so go after them, and make them raise their game. i really think there’s been several posters besides moi, Lorenzo #109, that have tried to do this. it’s doable, and if you check the sites re: the sort of thing i’m describing in your own native tongue [italian?], you’ll find a lot more of the sniping canalis & co. have been doing, although they did try that mess here.
see any posts @ canalis [do a search, i suppose] and see responses via cringe-worthy, Mr.Ed [you two have a diff of opinion re: his opinion of your intent], and several other posters trying to keep it a little classier, but honest.
sometimes you only have the least bad choice when dealing w/ some of these idiots.
and thank you for clarifying your question. very helpful. not funny, but helpful.

    @Mr.Ed & messenger:

hope you 2 kids are getting along now. be nice!
