I’m no fan of Cameron but I do hope, and think, that it came out wrong. That he meant just b/c he’s seen with someone it doesn’t mean that they are “f-ing”.

Either way, it would’ve been accurate.

It definitely came out wrong. Gerard Butler is perfect, therefore his analogy was not rude but hilariously witty and irrelevant.

I meant irreverent.

Holy hell, I want that makeup artist. She looks nothing like that…

You mean photoshop artist right, Tammy?
He probably said that because he was sick of being asked over and over and the best defense is a good offence and now the headlines read: Gerard Butler – is he or isn’t he a little bit rude. Over: Gerard Butler – is he or isn’t he dating Cameron Diaz.
I doubt he cares if a few people think that was a bit flip – the other half are too busy going: “Ooh, he’s still single! Did you see how outrageous his abs were in 300?”

make up is awesome, for sure. but, can’t deny the girl’s body. she is hot, and i have a serious case of legs/ass envy.

if i get that right, taking a woman out on a date is like walking her out like a dog? not nice.

Cameron Diaz is no dog.
Gerard Butler is a loser and a cad for talking that way about a woman. Hopefully, other women will sit up and take notice, and stay the hell away from him.

Oh, please. He obviously is making fun of celebrity gossip culture. How could you even imply that he meant she was a dog? Hello? Difficulties in English comprehension?

H,
It’s very easy to get that muddled up. Sometimes during conversations, a person’s mind doesn’t think straight.
Therefore the question.
“Are you dating Cameron Diaz?”
“If I take a dog for a walk etc.”
It can very easily be thought that he was alluding the dog to Cameron Diaz. But of course, magazines will think this and use, “BUTLER CALLS DIAZ A ‘DOG’ AND DENIES ALL DATING RUMOURS”

I’m going to pretend that he did mean it as an insult because I still want to like the guy.
Also, I’m pretty sure Diaz is morphing into Courtney Love…

Cameron is a bit of a ditz, but his analogy is quite clear on its own (and not as a comment about Cameron).

This is all so silly. This is the garbage being whipped up by Perez Hilton and TMZ. But, an astute reader, who isn’t trying to blow this out of proportion would realize that he is simply giving an exaggerated analogy about media hype. I.E. Just because I have a photo taken with someone, doesn’t mean I am dating them. I have my photo taken while walking my dog all the time, it doesn’t mean we’re fucking! He clearly is not calling Cameron a dog, and it’s pretty surface reading at best to think so. I know we’re hungry for gossip, but we don’t have to make ourselves look stupid in the process.

Are you sure that’s not a photo of Amber Valetta?

I also don’t think it was meant as an analogy. It was a simple and silly example he used to illustrate that everyone/everything you’re being photographed with for even a single snap is not in your bed that same night.
It would have been an analogy if he had denied dating Paris Hilton, for example…
Who let the dogs out? Woof, woof, woof, woof.

I don’t see why a lot of people hate Cameron Diaz. I seriously doubt she did anything personally to the haters, so are all the haters following all the other haters along like cattle??
If you don’t care for her movies, don’t watch ‘em.

It’s so cute when ppl get personally offended when ppl insult celebrities! I wonder if Cameron Diaz defends Carrie when they insult her. HA!

as hot as I think he is/was? it was a tasteless analogy……they were asking questions about a particular individual and he used some pretty demeaning words. NOT flattering to either of them. If they ARE “dating” I would think twice if I were her.

This just shows people get offended too fucking easily, or more likely, that fewer and fewer people in this world can actually understand what an analogy is.
He was photographed walking with Cameron Diaz, so everyone claims they’re dating.
So he says “Hey, you take pictures of me walking my dog every day, by the logic you used to pair me with Cameron Diaz, that means that I am fucking my dog.”
Seriously, how many of you flunked the english comprehension portion of your SATs?

He was actually seen out with her multiple times (dinner etc) so I think that it is you not we that don’t understand the meaning of the analogy. Using the F word is just tasteless and ungentlemanly. You don’t have to be overly sensitive to think that he was rude.

^^ He was probably annoyed/pissed at being asked possibly for the 99th time if he was dating Cam Diaz hence the swear word and dog analogy. As Scott F said, I don’t get how some people automatically assume he’s dissing Cameron. If they were seen out together then they may be friends and or business associates so why would he say that about her? Plus he’s human and he has a right to get annoyed if he’s being annoyed, which I just bet he was. I think he’s sexy and he seems cool to me in the interviews I’ve seen but, if he really is a asshat, time will tell. Just my 2 cents.

It is still an extremely rude way to deny a relationship. Think about it for a minute. If some guy you knew denied dating you that way, wouldn’t you be offended? I know a lot of you would say no, but you are full of it.

Kinda depends on if I am dating him and/or if I want people to know I am dating him.

Well, I guess you can’t really walk a squished frog so he had to use the term dog.

The next time he and I make sweet, sweet monkey love, I am going to mention that he could choose to not engage in conversation with the paps. Those pesky little buggers give up pretty quickly when you stop handing them material. And anonyvent, you make a good point. I certainly wouldn’t be flattered. (Though I’ve been called worse
)

If anyone actually read or listened to any of the things Gerard says you’d know exactly what he meant. He was pissed and that’s how he tells idiots like the raz to “fuck off”
