Jodie Sweetin gives birth to a girl

Stephanie Tanner - technically Jodie Sweetin, 26, – gave birth to a baby girl yesterday. Sweetin, who starred as the middle sister on Full House, and husband Cody Herpin, 30, first shared the news of their pregnancy when they gave sonogram photos to TMZ. One can only imagine what the birth announcements might entail. Probably some sort of amniotic fluid sent to X17. The couple named their daughter Zoie Herpin.

Jodie Sweetin and her husband of less than a year now have their very own Full House: The actress has given birth to a baby daughter, PEOPLE has confirmed. Baby Zoie was delivered via C-section Saturday afternoon, and arrived weighing 8 lbs. 7 oz. and is 21 in. long.

“Jodie says that she and her husband and family are absolutely thrilled and in love with baby Zoie,” says a rep for the actress.

The former Full House star, 26, married set designer Cody Herpin, her second husband, in a small Las Vegas ceremony on July 14, 2007. The pair tied the knot at the Little Church of the West in front of a few friends. At the time, Sweetin told PEOPLE, “Cody is my best friend. I married my best friend, and I couldn’t ask for anything more. He’s an unbelievable person.”

Sweetin was married to LAPD officer Shaun Houston from 2002 – 2007. She became addicted to meth shortly after getting married, but managed to keep it a secret from her husband until she nearly died after passing out from a combination of a cardiac arrhythmia and hypothermia in 2006. She went to Promises rehab and got clean, but her Houston ended the marriage. Since then, she’s become a well-received anti-drug speaker at high schools and colleges, and hosted Pants Off Dance Off on Fuse. According to Wikipedia Sweetin is currently “starring in a TV pilot, titled Small Bits of Happiness, a dark comedy centered around a suicide prevention specialist.”

  2. Zoie - how is that supposed to be pronounced?

As in Zoë (Zoh-ee) or Zoy, rhyming with soy? If it’s the first, why can’t they just spell it normally and stop pretending that their effed-up spelling will convey some sense of “uniqueness” to the child? Because, like, her DNA just isn’t uncommon enough?

  3. same reason german people like to give their kids english or french names which they cannot pronounce properly. kinda trailer-trashy really. i know a girl called arwen too. and she does not look like a slender elf.

  5. Zoie is as Carrie mentioned above an established variant of Zoe…

I wish her the best with her little girl. She seemed very happy during her entire pregnancy and I believe she’ll be a very happy mother.

  10. Yes, really hard to think of the Full House girl having her own child, but bringing a new life into the world is always special. I wish her all the best.
