Lindsay Lohan just turned herself in! She was late, of course. I’m sure she would have blamed the traffic, but TMZ notes that Lindsay didn’t leave her home until 8:24 a.m. PST, leaving only six minutes to make her appearance before the judge. Stupid crackhead.
The hearing or process of turning herself in only lasted a few minutes, and basically the only news coming out of it was: that Lindsay has to enroll in rehab immediately after jail, leaving barely any time after jail to party. Secondly, Lindsay looked really rough, and she rolled her eyes several times when the judge spoke. Third and final: press were not allowed to photograph Lindsay in handcuffs. DAMN. According to TMZ’s sources, Lindsay took being handcuffed “like a champ.”
Dina went with Lindsay, and Michael arrived before them. Shawn Chapman Holley represented Lindsay for this too – poor Shawn. You know she’s going to be drinking margaritas for the rest of the day.
I managed to get some screen-caps of the hearing, courtesy of TMZ’s live feed. There’s some idiot outside the court house yelling “FREE LINDSAY!!!” Moron. I’ll update is anything else interesting happens.

UPDATE #2: Lindsay is now in jail. A spokesperson for the LA County Sheriff’s office says, “Everything is going smoothly.” YAY!

I like that the judge is making her report after Jail “sooner than later” to probation and there is no undoing, no magical release which I’m sure White Oprah thought would happen.

Yeah I would have loved it if the judge slapped more time onto her sentence. I certainly would for contempt of court. Lilo really does need some discipline to kick her spoiled ass into gear. Her parents were obviously crappy in that area so someone needs to be a good parent and discipline her.

It’s her own damn fault she ended up in there anyway, so no sympathy. I’ll save my sympathy for people who actually deserve it. All she had to do was a few damn alcohol classes!

Shawn Chapman Holley actually had another case going, and she had to make arrangements for a delay on that one to take care of Lindsay. Wish I were in L.A. so I could buy a few Margaritas for her.
Now we have to listen to all the speculation on how long she will actually be in jail.

@Jackson, to be fair, photographers wouldn’t be at “Lindsay Smith’s” hearing.
She’s probably incredibly high which is why she’s likely calm. And not allowing her to be photographed in cuffs is allowing her to keep her dignity. I believe the courts are in some way obligated or encouraged to do that.
I am surprised she went off. When the wait is over most of the nerves dissipate.
I am no fan of her or her attitude, but you have to believe that with proper parenting, she would have had her azz kicked years ago and straightened out. Her “parents” should be proud of the mess they have created, their youngest will be worse with their guiding.
I have been in jail and it is not fun, yet, it is not what is perceived on the outside. Mind your business and it is mostly a big waste of time and boring. It is cold, the food stinks and there is nothing but time to sit and think. I have been in 24/7 lockup, too. NOT fun, extremely stressing on the mind the first couple of days. If she is truly relegated to those conditions, she will be a much different person when she gets out. The first couple of days will be bad, if she is truly claustrophobic, then she will not enjoy it and end up in the mental health ward. That is NOT a good place, legitimately crazed people are there.
I do wish her well when she gets out, hopefully she learns that she is not better than anyone else.
I’m guessing the judge banned the photos to prevent a swarm, not to save Lindsay the embarrassment.

The truth is, if she stays in jail for more than 20 days, she’ll probably look better when she comes out (even without a blowdryer, etc.). Her skin looks like it could use a vacay from crack.

After at least 20 days in the slammer, Lindsay will come out looking much better with a more fresh face I am sure. Her roots will look a little rough though. When Paris got out of jail, I thought she looked better too.
Of course she was late, and of course she was disrespectful in the court room. Would we really expect anything more from Lilo, the model citizen?
If I were her I would’ve dyed my hair back to the natural color and had the extensions removed before going in there. She is going to have some serious roots and the extensions are going to be nasty by the time she gets out. She is just a dumb little bratty kid.

I don’t think she’s going to be able to get away with rolling the eyes in rehab, and the jail guards won’t love it either. Stop the rolling, it makes you look about 13 years old.

Man, I would love to see Drew Barrymore mentor this girl back to sanity! It’s unfortunate, she has parents more concerned about making money off their kids than loving them, has been thrust into a fast and loose lifestyle from a very early age, and has fallen because of it all. She got wrapped up with a bunch of vampires who just wanted a piece of her, she has no self-esteem or pride, and it makes her an easy target for these vultures (her family included). What would anyone expect her to turn out like? It’s becoming very prevalent too. Little Hollywood kids being left to raise themselves, surrounded by all the money and vices you could possibly want, and the public is *shocked* when they grow up into self-indulgent aholes. I hope she gets a clue, humility, and finds a path in life. She’ll end up dead before 30 if she keeps on this road.
when lindsay finally looks herself in the mirror and realizes that she herself, alone put her in these circumstances, she will have a very powerful moment, because hopefully she will realize that she has the power to lead her life and face consequences, good and bad for her choices. I hope this day comes soon, because surely she is tired of blaming everyone else for her circumstances and feeling like she has no control of her life. Taking responsibility for your choices is very positive and powerful.

Persistent Cat- Unless “Lindsay Smith” was infamous for a highly publicized crime. Example: Scott Peterson, The Runaway Bride. Even Micheal Jackson and Paris Hilton were photographed in handcuffs.
Why should the court care about respecting her dignity when she doesn’t respect her own or the court’s? The people I feel bad for are the one arrested in front of their children or paraded in front of the media before they are tried and convicted.

But I do have new respect for Shapiro. I’m glad he didn’t let her get away with breaking the rules because of who she is. She shouldn’t be allowed to interfere with the people there genuinely trying to turn their lives around or interrupt the progress of others so the facility can indulge her every whim and continue to feed her massive ego.
In the new US Weekly a source says (paraphrasing) she is still complaining how unfair it is but secretly loving the attention. I’m sure that is true. But the thing I found funniest was they were talking about how she is spending her time before jail – including learning to paint. Predictably she is just painting self portraits. The line stating she was experimenting with colors to get the “perfect color of her tan” made me laugh. She shouldn’t be looking for the color tan, she should be trying to find the right mix of dirty and orange. Although her skin looks pretty good, for her, in these photos.

She didn’t accept responsibility, she was forced to go to jail. She never owned up to it or said I should be there I broke the law. She fought and bitched and threw a fit and didn’t get her way. That is in no way commendable. Come on didn’t she put you through enough? Don’t lie to try and make her sound better.
