There's inventive instruments and vocal style without leaning on guitars or any efx schtick. Her voice is heard clearly, with real emotions - Currently Zooey Deschanel's cd is getting high marks, but she sings pretty insipid covers we've all heard too many times - without much style - hiding behind an indie rock hero for street cred. Scarlett does the right thing, doesn't try to write her own material - goes to a true genius source/uses her acting skills/i.e.voice to slightly re-arrange the feel with some success here - good start. Gutsy move - especially for a female vocalist.
