Elisabetta Canalis acts like there aren’t hundreds of escorts waiting to replace her

VENICE, ITALY - SEPTEMBER 08: Actor George Clooney and his girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis arrive at the Excelsior for attends 'The Men Who Stare At Goats' premiere at the Sala Grande during the 66th Venice Film Festival on September 8, 2009 in Venice, Italy. Thanks to LaineyGossip for the heads up on this – Elisabetta Canalis gave a short interview to Entertainment Tonight while she was on the set of Leverage. CB and I have been emailing about this sh-t, it’s so epic. You wouldn’t even believe how short the clip is either, but somehow it packs a self-righteous punch. Yes, every horrible thing that I’ve ever thought about Eli Canalis is true – she’s a smug bitch. And then some. What’s up with her skin?

In public she’s George Clooney’s main squeeze, but on TV she plays a shadowy intelligence agent Sunday nights on TNT’s “Leverage.” Peeling back the layers a little more, Elisabetta Canalis shares her excitement about George, plastic surgery, her U.S. acting debut and more!

“Too many secrets,” says Elisabetta, who speaks Italian and English and is learning Spanish, too.

She says that her first TV job was as a presenter – and reveals a key reason why she didn’t follow the modeling path: “I’m too short for modeling; I’ve always been too short. I prefer doing what I do.”

The Italian stunner says that spending time with George makes her feel like she’s 18 again, joking, “He’s better than plastic surgery!”

In “Leverage,” Elisabetta plays a mysterious character known only as “The Italian” on the show, who blackmails Timothy Hutton’s main character, Nate Ford.

“I’m very happy to be here,” says Elisabetta. “It’s a privilege for me, staying here with Tim and all of the cast; they are amazing and they are helping me a lot.”

As for her next red-carpet appearance with George, Elisabetta says she’ll be there for him as he collects the Bob Hope Humanitarian Award at the Emmys later this month. “I’m very proud; it’s a very important award,” she says. “I’ll be there with him.”

[From Entertainment Tonight]

Eli has been talking about going to the Emmys for weeks now, she even brought it up in her Vanity Fair Italia profile (or was asked, whatever). I know I’ve been calling their breakup for months, but I really just see Clooney as being very, very upset with the liberties Eli is taking. He likes his girls quiet and undemanding – in public at least. God knows how he likes them in private (although there are theories). But after seeing Eli’s man-jaw and bad skin and smug demeanor, I have to say: come on, Cloon. You can do better. There must be hundreds of waitresses/escorts/cokewhores/softcore porn actresses who would love to choke the hell out of you, and they’re way classier than this one.

Compare the Eli in the video above to her ‘Shopped VF photos. It’s insane. Not to be too harsh, but this isn’t a very attractive woman without the ‘Shop.

    Dude looks like a lady.

  2. meme says:

If Georgie was upset with her, she’d be gone by now. This one’s going to get herself pregnant. Just you wait.

  3. snowball says:

If she does end up getting dumped, it’s going to be nuclear with all of this public gushing she’s been doing.

I don’t see her going quietly, she’s got a big mouth. Suddenly, George’s oddly quiet behavior is looking a little bit like fear.

  4. lucy2 says:

She’s been steadily increasing her media attention, I bet he’ll be showing her the door soon.
Those photos are pretty – and look nothing like her. She should send the photoshopper a thank you.

  5. tar says:

    Best. Headline. LOL

  6. Praise St. Angie! says:

wow, she is REALLY mannish in person, with no special lighting and photoshop at work.

  7. Mist says:

    The headline says it all.

The sad part is that Elisabetta thinks she is special because she is getting a bit of attention from George Clooney and the media, right now.

Life’s a bitch people and it does not care who you are or who you are sleeping with.

  8. azerty says:

Clooney! Dump this mannish cokewhore and find another one. I’m fed up with this one.

  9. Tess says:

So she should shut up, be a good girl and act as a proper trophy girlfriend should? Okay. I find her kind of amusing. And she’s pretty harmless when it comes to famewhores. Frankly I think it’s better for a woman to remain true to who she is and pursue the things she wants rather than try to follow a fixed set of strict guidelines in order to keep a man–even if that man is George Clooney. It’s only a matter of time before he dumps her and moves on so I ask what does she have to lose exactly? Maybe she’s smarter than people give her credit for.

  10. JY says:

they look boring together and I don’t see any hot sparkle between them. always awkward. he will soon dump her just like his other relationships.
and I always thought she was very mannish but once again I’m surprised she really looks like a man in the vid.

  11. Amanda says:

Let’s see… it seems like it’s about time for her to be dumped (according to his past history). Doing magazine interviews? Check. Getting jobs off of her association with Clooney? Check. Drawing increasing attention as his date to high profile events (i.e. the upcoming Emmys)? Check. I predict they will attend the Emmys together and lots of beautiful pictures will be taken of them and then she will be no more.

  12. Fluffy Kitten Tail says:

She is an ugly woman, and the use of photoshop in her Vanity Fair pics is unreal!

  13. Andrea-2 says:

Does George speak Italian, because I can’t see how he can sustain any semblance of sanity listening to her massacre English. Learning Spanish? Dude, get your English down first!

  14. fizXgirl3114 says:

Wow I couldn’t stand this chick for two seconds… I can’t even understand what she is saying. I don’t get it… the significant part of how you connect with someone is communication… no?

  15. buckley says:

Urgh, quit trying to act coy. It doesn’t suit you.

  16. DJ says:

Wow, I never realized what an ugly woman she is. Not trying to hate on her, but she is ugly.

  17. GimmeABreak says:

I don’t find her the least bit charming. At allll!

  18. Kim says:

ITA Amanda , Sarah was dumped after appearing in a magazine Harper’s Bazaar I think.

  19. meme says:

@Tess – she IS a trophy girlfriend. the woman has no discernable talent.

  20. guesty says:

that was exactly what i was thinking! she’s such a bitch & completely fug too. AND her accent is worse than penny cruz’s.

  21. Chrissy says:

Clooney must speak some pretty fluent Italian or they barely speak to each other.

  22. denise says:

Wow, she does have a heavy accent. She barely speaks english at all. And she is on an American show? Unbelievable, they must have subtitles. I guess it’s just a perk of being Clooney’s girlfriend.

  23. Rose says:

Wow, haters out in force, her english is perfectly understandable and I would imagine far better than most of the italian spoken here.

  24. Marjalane says:

Ugh. I’m with buckley, she’s way too mannish to be so coy, and that giggle is ghastly! Like an old Volkswagon starting up on a cold morning.

  25. ladydi says:

George probably talks incessantly and could care less what language his girlfriend at the time is speaking.

  26. Aqua says:

I’m waiting to see if she goes to the emmys or not. If she’s there that will say it all. I’ll expect to see little Cloonalises running around by this time next year.

George should take his father with him since he is the one who went with him to Africa.

  27. original kate says:

her english is fine, but i don’t think george is interested in talking to his women. if you know what i mean.

  28. Solveig says:

I suppose that each one of you, when you go to Italy, politely speak fluent italian. Or at least try to speak italian and do not force the others to talk in english, right? Yeah, because the way you pronounce latin and italian words is admirable.

  29. ladydi says:

As admirable as attacking fellow posters?

  30. Heaven-bound says:

Ok, this is not hating on the woman… but,

Usually Italian women are very pretty, but she is not very attractive and I could not find her funny in anyway. She seemed nervous during the interview.

I guess when we had not heard her speak, maybe most of us thought that she had a great voice and a great personality, but I guess the myth has been shattered after this interview. Highly obnoxious woman.

Yikes!! That is the same impression I get from Matt Damon’s wife. I don’t know what these men see in these women, they are nothing special really. I meet better looking women with awesome personalities in my daily life.

  31. Solveig says:

Attacking fellow posters… I didn’t know that there was some kind of blood pact between the posters here in CB, I felt quite the contrary, actually.
As an italian speaking person I feel the creeps when I hear english speaking people mispronouncing latin and italian words, at least as much as you english speaking people have the creeps when you hear someone bubblegumming your language.
    No pun intended.

  32. NoWay says:

@Solveig None of us language challenged Americans are getting paid to act on Italian shows either. I use the word act very loosely. What does she have on Clooney? I would think he might be afraid of his professional reputation helping her break into his business with her clear lack of any talent.

If she seemed at all to appreciate the big undeserved break she was getting then maybe some would be a bit forgiving, but yeah I forgot we are all jealous. I am glad she likes to remind me about that, keep forgetting.

  33. Charlotte says:

@Solveig – Regardless of how good her English really is, this is a woman that boast on Italian Tv about how fluent in English she is… And on American TV she boasts about how important her role on Italian TV is! She says in the interview that her main job has always been TV presenter, please, she has only ever been asked to show her body on TV and that’s all she’s done. As for TRL we all know how successful her edition was

  34. ladydi says:

The comment policy is there for a reason. Perhaps this a good time to review it.

  35. Kaiser says:

Eh. I don’t really think Solveig was attacking other posters, he/she was just making the point that as much as we criticize Eli for her accent, very few of us would be able to speak un-accented Italian.

Chill out, folks. There’s enough about Eli to criticize without getting all up in arms about her (albeit) thick accent. Make fun of her bad skin and her snotty attitude, eh?

  36. meme says:

@heavenbound – So Clooney and Damon and the rest of them are only supposed to date/marry women considered beautiful by the masses? Jeesh.

  37. RHONYC says:

i work closely with alot of italian diplomats in nyc…but, i gotta tell ya…

i wanNA BLOW MY F%CKING BRAINS OUT ACROSS MY COMPUTER SCREEN WHEN I HEAR HER SPEAK…AAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

    it’s like gisele 2.0

    :-0

    🙁

  38. NoWay says:

Ok, I’ll bite what is it with her skin? Usually when you tan that much you are just leathery. Why does she look like she should be in a proactive ad?

  39. Katie says:

Okay, after watching that, George just became significantly less attractive to me knowing he is with her. She does seem super smug. And I don’t think she’s that pretty. I just don’t see it. Too much jaw.

  40. Solveig says:

    Thank you Kaiser.

@NoWay and Charlotte, I’m not discussing her acting skills (I actually don’t care enough to talk about it), or if she should stick in her tv hosting roles or try to do something different, it’s her choice and chance and time will tell if she’ll succeed or not.
I just find bizarre the way some people are attacking her for her accent, and for that reason I wrote that neither english speaking people are able to pronounce in a decent way a foreign language, and neither every other person of every other nationality is able to hide its original accent while speaking a foreign language. To be honest I don’t find it disturbing (except for latin words, I’m sort of a “purist”), I find it sweetly funny, actually. In other words, there’s no need to act like mispronounciation is blasphemy.

  41. fizXgirl3114 says:

Nobody is harping on her for not speaking English… I’m merely noting that she is dating someone who I presume only speaks English and can’t understand how they would communicate… If I were dating someone who spoke a language I wasn’t particularly good at, I’d expect people to question my connection with that person…

  42. gabs says:

Why did VF make her sooo white when she isnt? It doesnt even look like the same woman. wtf? Clooney will have a new gal by the next oscars. But i do think shell make it past emmys a bit

  43. e says:

Hutton seems really uncomfortable in that interview. Her laugh and facial expressions are cringe worthy.

  44. yes please says:

its clear why he is with her.. he is gay she looks like a man but is a woman. perfect for him, she will stay longer than the rest…

  45. NoWay says:

Her lack of English speaking skills in this interview and on Leverage makes me wonder. How much English does she know? Maybe her smug look is really her just trying to grasp the words and meaning. Doubt it, but this would be a better PR direction than the one they are using now.

  46. jane16 says:

George does speak some Italian, don’t know if he’s fluent. When Tim was talking about her height, I think she was grabbing her shoe to show the interviewer she was wearing heels. I don’t mind her accent, I like accents, but I find her voice unpleasant, like the rest of her.

  47. Carena says:

Gotta love Tim Hutton’s body language in that clip. He is trying to hard to be a nice guy and do a good interview. When she says the cast has helped her a lot, he purses his lips. Then at the end he says, “she’s great” and immediately scratches his nose.

  48. fizXgirl3114 says:

I still don’t see how two people who aren’t completely fluent in the same language can actually have a connection. I was born in Armenia but I don’t date anyone who only speaks Armenian cuz I don’t feel like I can truly express myself to someone in a language in which I didn’t spend a significant portion of my schooling. That’s why my boyfriend is a Brit… can’t get any more English speaking than that hehehehe…

I dunno, isn’t pontificating about nonesense one of the main ways you connect with someone? It’s all those odd and quirky things you have in common about the way you see things that make you feel close and intimate. If I had to struggle with words, I wouldn’t feel connected with someone. I dunno, who cares? The interview gives me second hand embarrassment more importantly… that guy next to him looks really awkward. If I wanted to promote my work, I would make sure to decline commenting about my personal life. She tries to come off as coy and giddy and it sort of comes off as uncomfortable and awkward… :-/

  49. Me says:

Are we SURE she’s not a man?

  50. jane16 says:

@ Noway, cocaine has two effects on a persons looks, it makes you not want to eat, therefore, a lot of people in H’wood use it to stay thin; also, if you have oily skin, it makes you break out (pimples). Ooops, should have said 3 effects cuz it also makes you look older with things like upper eyelid hollowed out and dark circles below eyes. Oh, and it also makes a lot of people reeeally bitchy and short tempered. Interesting, no?

  51. Von says:

Maybe she has a peen and thats why hes still with her

  52. Theuth says:

To be honest, I thought her English was worse than this, judging from her Leverage episodes: yes, her accent is thick, but the main problem is that she speaks fast and tends to cut words. It’s probably worse when she’s acting, because she’s not able to concentrate on her pronunce.
You have to understand that in Italy there are TONS of different dialects, too: Italian language can change a lot between regions, so spoken foreign languages. She’s from Sardinia, where people use a particular dialect, and there are pieces in her Leverage episodes when you can hear her Italian inflections.
Nevertheless, in my opinion she has a very unpleasant nasal voice, toned down when she uses English and less noticeable, if possible: her answers in Italian usually sound less smug, however still arrogant.
I also noticed Mr Hutton acting in a very unconfortable way during the video.

  53. Naty says:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GqJeG2xPDEc
this is what she did in Italy, shes just a girl who dances in television shows, sorry for my bad english!!!:)

  54. Aqua says:

Poor Tim Hutton, whats the man suppose to say, she’s standing right there.

She needs to speak better English before she moves on to another language. I’m sure with all the money she’s making now,(all the interviews) she could afford an English tutor.

  55. BethL says:

I keep saying this in posts about her but Elisabetta is so the ugly/pretty girl in that Seinfeld episode. She looks pretty in the evening gown photo but looks like an ugly man in the video. I could only watch the video for about 10 seconds. She was extremely annoying.

  56. oduroyal says:

She is breaking all kinds of rules for beards.

George should have stuck with that Sarah girl…she was less obviously a beard than this girl.

  57. Palmer says:

I completely agree with SNOWBALL and MEME.

Pregnant and/or not going to move on quietly–like the others. I hope he wears a condom. She figures to me the type who would secretly stop taking her pills. Oopps! And he’s down for the count.

On the lighter side the top photo in that stunningly beautiful, blue multi-colored taffeta dress is the best image I’ve ever seen of her. But! it doesn’t look like her. Well, there ya’ go…

  58. Palmer says:

Solvig: Hate to remind you but Latin is a dead language. No one knows how to pronounce it.Duh!

  59. Palmer says:

Interview? I agree that Tim Hutton looked quite uncomfortable. It appears to me as a scrub-job, apparently perpetuated by Clooney, himself. That’s disturbing. Since she can’t act you’d think he’d at least get her a good handler so she’d be better in front of the camera. All that hair rubbing and coquettish shoulder dipping appears to be her primary talent.

  60. Well Larson got dumped right after she attended the Met gala in NY that he was co-hosting a month after the Leatherheads premiere.
This one’s scandal isn’t something he wants to get asked about on the red carpet but seriously, how many entertainment shows would actually ask her the question – did you do coke and are you or were you a hooker? No way. Not in front of George with him about to start promoting a new film. They will all want access. That’s if they walk the Emmy’s red carpet – he has been avoiding them in the past year.
I think she will be there. She seems too confident that it is a done deal. She is currently in Portland doing Leverage so if George changed his mind after the scandal hit the other week; she would know about it and would be hedging her bets. Looks like she will be around for the promotion of the American. After that, I doubt it especially if his other film got pushed back until next year as some rumours suggest.

  61. Ruffian9 says:

“why she didn’t follow the modeling path..”

    Um…isn’t it obvious?

ETA: Yes, too short, that must be it….

  62. Flipper says:

It’s in the clip on the top of the page Palmer.

Tim only speaks when he has to and has a smirk on his face all the time. This is obviously a Clooney co-opted interview, she would not be doing it if he hadn’t set it up, ET always kisses his a**, I bet they are one of the few he will talk to on the red carpet at the Emmy’s, scratch my back I’ll scratch yours.

She is totally a bit player on the show why all this attention? Because they are trying to diffuse some of the Coke-Sex scandal before the Emmy’s but its doing just the opposite she seems like she is a bit high in the interview, squirming about like a 5 year old and exhibiting no discernable charm or sexiness she comes across as very juvenile , she probly thinks she is all girly and cute (vomit).

  63. zzzz says:

I think the interview was allowed because of the upcoming Emmy Award and American premier……. to take the pressure off the drug scandal. I also think George is trying to help Leverage, too, isn’t the season ending soon and taking the scandal talk away from Leverage, too.

Of course ET wouldn’t dare mention it, but so far she has only been credited with 2 eps and just filmed her third. Will she really be getting 5 AIRED eps or just getting paid for 5?

  64. battytimes says:

Honestly, she looks like a man.

  65. moocowhead says:

I don’t think he necessarily wants a classy girl.. or a bright one. Some men just don’t want a smart, classy lady – that’s his business and our entertainment! I seriously love her now.

🙁 @ Timothy Hutton aging badly
I need to watch Beautiful Girls and dream he’s out there again

  66. battytimes says:

I hate Italians. They’re the red-headed step-child of Europe. Gawd, I spent a year in Italy. People are lazy, rude and utterly self-absorbed arses. I never met a ethnic group who were so self-entitled and arrogant. I’ll never go back…

  67. TimHuttonFan says:

Saw the clip on ET tonight. She was vERY nervous but not for the reasons you all think. She knows Tim finds her revolting and that has made her nervous and giddy. She looks quite buck toothed in that clip. The woman has problems. But i will say her english didnt seem that bad. it looked like she actually knew what was being said and was responding on her own. Either that or she is getting better at faking it. As far as the interview went, she was just repeating her lines. deffinitely not “off the cuff” for her. it’s the tension beteween TH and ec you eare picking up on ..He is awesome and she is awful and no way she will be at the emmys or pregnant or around much longer…just a hunch

  68. Solveig says:

    [petulant teacher mode ON]
@Palmer #58 , are you serious or are you kidding me?

@Theuth, actually sardinian people speak a language, not a dialect (that’s very similar to spanish). Sardinian is a romance language, one of the most conservatives, actually.
    [petulant teacher mode OFF]

As for her voice, I think that the sound of a drill is more pleasant.

  69. lucy2 says:

I’ll be 100% shocked if she gets pregnant, and I bet George would be too – for some reason I get the impression he’s taken care of that particular issue so that he’s never tied down, trapped, or forced to write child support checks.

She does have a heavy accent, but I can understand her OK. I think she’s just a bad actress, and the accent exaggerates that – if she were good, it wouldn’t matter. At one time I spoke passable Italian, but can’t imagine trying to act, or even work, in another language, so I do give her credit for that, but wish she’d stop trying and go away.

Tim Hutton’s body language is pretty funny. He’s probably pissed that even though he’s the star and has actual talent, they’re interviewing her simply because she dates George.

  70. tiff says:

Italians are the worst. They’re rude, arrogant, self-absorbed and have generally the most repulsive reputation in all of Europe. They live in a delusion that they’re god’s gift to humanity. When in fact, people look down at their utter lack of class and couth.

  71. Aqua says:

Their will be a lot to comment on with these two in the next few upcoming weeks.
It will be interesting to see what happens. STAY TUNED!

  72. zzzz says:

The aired segment tonight was totally cut down and did not mention going to the Emmy’s.

  73. CB Rawks says:

@tiff, the biggest asshole I ever knew was French, so I’m gonna impugn all of them. 😉

  74. Crash2GO2 says:

@Heaven-bound & Tiff: Wow, talk about ethnic biases! ALL Italian women are beautiful? Really? ALL Italians are rude, arrogant, self-absorbed?

I am fervently hoping that you are not Americans, because you are an embarrassment to America if you are.

  75. sparkle586 says:

@ Tiff — sorry but I have to strongly disagree with you. I am an American married to a Milanese and in the five years that I have been with my husband, I have met very few Italians that I do not like (and even fewer that lack “class” and “couth”). Yes they are arrogant and have quite a bit of swagger, but in my opinion, its well deserved. I lived several years in Europe and I think they have the best looks, style, charm and sex appeal (men and women). Spend the summer on a beach in Sardinia — those are some damn beautiful people (but my children are half Italian so I might be a bit biased). Now if you call them RACIST and close-minded, then I’d agree, but I still think the Spanish take the top prize there.

  76. Heaven-bound says:

    @ Crash2go2

Um… can you go back and re-read my post.

I said “USUALLY most italian women are very pretty”

What is the ethnic bias in that comment? Were did I say that ALL Italian women were beautiful?

And then to top it all off you insult me by “hoping I am not American”.

Well, I am proud to say that I am an American that embraces all cultures 🙂

  77. shadowme says:

The ET interview was a payoff for not running the scandal like everyone else did. George is looking older he seems to have aged a great deal since hooking up with horseface. It is clear there is no love between the two. Everyone who has seen them say she is a complete bitch and he ignores her when they aren’t fighting which they have very publicly. Queen of the tantrums is this one. It is clearly a PR stunt and once George is done she will be gone. She is still around to prove he can keep a girl more then a year. Would help if he actually had feelings for them and not just the ones below his belt. Elisabetta is as classless and arrogant as they get, she really believes she is due all this. Tim and all the cast and crew know she got the role cause of who she is sleeping with most would be a little ashamed but I guess if you are named in a coke/hooker scandal that sort of thing doesn’t bother you. All of this is to try and get people to forget she has been linked to this scandal and knowing hollywood no one will have the gumption to bring it up on the red carpet. I don’t know how they can say how lovely she is when there are hookers dressed better then she is. Even the tranny ones look more feminene then she does. Problem with Elisabetta is she can’t take photoshop with her everywhere. If she could get pregnant she would off by now, Krista and Lisa would have gone down that road first and failed. George had the snip years ago so if she does it won’t be his! Cant wait to hear his thankyou speech she was out partying in Milan while he was working his ass off for Haiti. She expects him to say something about her and all the support she has given him. That would be acting.

  78. Anj says:

Clooney has become an ugly uncle.

  79. tiff says:

@sparkle586 — Heaven and God help you you’re married to a “Milanese” (as you put it). Yes, I lived and traveled all throughout Europe for work. And, I beg to differ on your obviously biased opinion as you’re married to an Italian.

The comment that Italians have the “best looks, style, charm and sex appeal (men and women)” is a matter of taste. I don’t find the southern European aesthetic to be classy nor elegant. It’s usually over-the-top, tacky and contrived.

And, I must reiterate that Italians are deluded into thinking all the above (ie good looking etc) is true. They just tell each other and anyone else who will listen how wonderful they are. And, while you may believe it to be true there are other billions of other inhabitants on this fine earth who would beg to differ.

I must agree with you on one point that they are utterly RACIST and closed-minded. But, you are absolutely correct that the Spanish take the ultimate lead in being the MOST racist ethnic group I have ever encountered in all my years of traveling through Europe.

I’m curious. How can you separate positively knowing that a ethnic group is racist and closed-minded but also find them charming and sexy? Personally, a racist and closed-minded person is the furthest from being “charming or sexy.” Unless said person is racist him/herself. I don’t find these two categories to be mutually-exclusive. However, my priorities/value-set of personhood traits may vary from you and Italians.

I would never associate myself on a social basis with persons whom you describe as having “deserved” swagger? Are you kidding me? It’s just another way to say that a jerk is entitled to behave like a jerk because of all the material prerequisites have been checked off on your categories of what is important in a human being. I find characteristics such as humility, self-effacing intelligence and generosity the items I would personally tick off on persons I would like to associate with.

  80. Kat says:

I know it’s my fault for even reading stories about her and wasting my time, but seriously, can he just dump her already? Doesn’t she know that George’s gfs should be seen and not heard? George–on the off chance you are reading this—please please please dump cokehead and move on.

  81. jane16 says:

@ tiff, you’re pathetic. Go the f*&k away. Talk about racist, look in the mirror jerk.

  82. Megan says:

He doesn’t notice what bad taste he has in women because he is a homosexual. Why else would he date these weird leggy clones. Clooney needs a real man!

  83. tiff says:

@Jane16 use your other alias. You’re mature. Using juvenile and dismissive gestures akin to cursing in the schoolyard playground?? Grow up and have a grown-up conversation.

  84. Aqua says:

Boy, you leave the post for a couple of hours and look what happens. All these tabloid and entertainment shows have been blowing smoke up Clooneys a– for years and its not about to change. All these shows and tabloid magazines aren’t really known for their hard hitting facts and their so called insightful interviews.
Its all superficial stuff and fluff.
The piece I saw on T.V. was a little different. When she said George was better than plastic surgery it reminded me of what Tammy Fay Baker said on a nightline interview( yes I’ve dated myself) shopping was better therapy than seeing a shrink.

    # 71 you might be right he could be snip snip or maybe it’s one of those things in a contract.
But their’s still a possibility that they could have kids.

  85. Theuth says:

To tiff&company: do you know that people could be arrogant, classless and rude everywhere? Maybe you have met only jerks in Italy/France/Spain, but it’s highly improbable that EVERYONE in those countries are so unpleasant. Hell, I live in Italy and know so many annoying people here, but I’ve also met others who are the complete opposite.
Plus, I’m curious: where are you been here in Italy? Ok, Italians may appear a little arrogant to someone, but usually they understand that they’re not the center of universe and are able to relate with every kind of people…a thing I’ve NEVER seen, for example, in Americans. But, hey, I don’t think they are all idiots!

  86. fizXgirl3114 says:

tiff I echo jane.. you’re a racist douchebag. Are you by any chance the same low life who was putting down women, Philadelphians and anyone else they could think of a few months back? you seriously need help… get lost.

  87. Celebitchy says:

tiff and “battytimes” are the same person. Banned for multiple nicks.

  88. fizXgirl3114 says:

Theuth seriously????? how you gonna combat racism by putting Americans down? How is it alright to be racism against Americans? This is getting ridiculous

  89. Shy says:

Why George has such a low taste? He can have any woman in Hollywood, in world and he choses that? And that previous girlfriend. Sara something.

This Elisabetta has such a manly face that if she would cut her hair short then she would look like a very pretty boy. If i would met her in person i would suspect that she has done a gender change. You see video and then you see this photoshoped pictures and she looks nothing like that in real life.

  90. tuscan sun says:

    @ snowball,

“If she does end up getting dumped, it’s going to be nuclear with all of this public gushing she’s been doing.

I don’t see her going quietly, she’s got a big mouth. Suddenly, George’s oddly quiet behavior is looking a little bit like fear.”

I couldn’t agree with you more, snowball. I think, considering Elisabetta’s temperament, this is going to be a nasty breakup. I’ve been thinking George may not know how to extricate himself from this woman at this point. At the very least he’s going to wait until he doesn’t have any public appearances for awhile, just in case she makes a big public mess out of a split.

  91. Theuth says:

#88: I’m very sorry, I’ve put my thoughts in the worst way possible…I wanted to say that even if the only Americans I’ve met in my life were jerks so convinced to be the best people in the whole world, I still don’t think EVERY American is this way. Tiff and others seem so sure that few persons are an accurate portrait of an entire country, being them Italian/French/Spanish/Everywhere…

  92. edre says:

I’m Italian,I think Elisabetta is not a very clever woman, she’s not able to do any of the things she’s asked to do during the last years, but somebody asks her to do what she does and she’s paid a lot for her “job”.That’s incredible ..but her English is very better than a year ago,so something she learned and if george let her talking about their relationship in such a way, their relationship must be more serious than I believed. This mean that clooney is not so clever than he pretends to be.

  93. justine says:

    Celebitchy,
    luckily (or your misfortune?),VIPs not
there “cagano” because are of nullity
and unfortunately for you (no advertising) none lawsuit

  94. Laila says:

I cannot believe that she got a role in the US with that terrible English (not to mention her total lack of skills in general). I understand why people despise her so much – especially women. She represents all those bad cliché’ that strong/independent women will never forgive to another woman (stupid/using a man for her career, etc…). She clearly got that role only because she sleeps with George Clooney and this is a matter of fact! She never started as a TV presenter in Italy – Liar!!! – She was simply showing her ass dancing on a table!

I saw her at the airport in Milan 3 years ago. She was going to the lounge with her little dog and looked very snobbish! The first impression I had was that she wanted to look like Paris Hilton (stupid/superficial)!
Anyway I feel pretty sorry for her in a way (I really mean it!!) as she does not really realise how ridiculous she is now looking in front of so many people!

  95. snowbunny says:

Anyone who is forced to work with the boss’s son, daughter, niece or nephew can feel the pain Timothy Hutton is going through. I don’t know if I feel worse for him or the actress that didn’t get the job (because she isn’t sleeping with someone important), either way, shame on you – George. I thought you had more class!

  96. Spaniard says:

Ok, first of all I don’t give a d*mn about this girl and Cloney but since some of the posters are talking sh*t about my country I just want to say a few things: Do u know where illegal inmigration is a crime?? : ITALY AND ARIZONA(USA), Do u all know that in Spain EVERYBODY (illegals included) get FREE HEALTHCARE AND EDUCATION??, Do u all know where government approves that regular people organise patrols to chase illegals??: ITALY, Do u all know that gipsies are send off of Italy although they are from the European Union and it’s not legal??

Before talking some things try to get your facts straight first since you all are so “open-minded” and we are not.

  97. Solveig says:

I thought that racist comments would be erased.
Anyway, Italy is living a hard time, right now. People have been influenced by 20 years of berlusconian tv that made them quite blind and selfish, stupid and racist too, yes. Italy is living a new and more insidious form of fascism. More insidious because it changes the culture, making it more violent and racist in a quite way, so the people don’t even realize what is happening. I’m not here to justify this attitude, but there are a lot of italians who actually are very kind, polite and culturally open to the rest of the world and who find that racist is wrong on every level (as wrong as every generalization is), and who remember also that they where immigrant as well.
I don’t know what kind of people tiff met, but he/she isn’t a good example of a open minded person, nor of a nonracist.

@Spaniard, there’s no need to put down the other countries to defend your own.

  98. Spaniard says:

Did I lied?, because if I didn’t it’s not called “putting down” but “telling the truth” and sorry if it offends you but I also get deeply annoyed when our country is portrayed as the most racist in Europe when Italy and France have more restrictive inmigration policies than us.

  99. Charlotte says:

@Solveig – Totally agree about all the brainwashing Italians got from Mr B and this is precisely the reason why I am so disappointed in Clooney who is always trying to appear fairly progressive and liberal.
What’s he doing with s.o. like Canalis who instead is a self-proclaimed right winger and Berlusconi supporter (as well as a typical product of his TV) ?
George you really let me down

  100. Solveig says:

@Spaniard, I didn’t tell you that you are lying… I said that there’s no need to put down the other countries, especially considering that none of the italians writing here said something wrong about spanish people. That’s all.
As for that raicist law against immigrants, I know what you are talking about, but as much as a govern represents the people who elected it, it’s also true that there is a 50% of italians who doesn’t agree with this racist decision and who actually do something to help those people.
Again, generalization is wrong on every level.

@Charlotte, I don’t know if Elisabetta is a right wing voter, but consider that if she claims otherwise she would be fired and she probably won’t have the chance to work again on italian tv, or cinema…

  101. Merry says:

@ Spaniard. You can rest assured, Italy is not a racist country inhabited by racist people. We have a very serious illegal immigration problem (you may be aware of the fact that most immigrants that want to illegally enter the UE do so through our country). We do not condemn people because they immigrate (what nonsense!), but since they do so illegally they produce some serious problems. Also, many countries declare illegal immigrationa crime: it is against the US law to immigrate illegally, I think, crime punished with a fine and/or imprisonment up to 6 months.
As for gipsies, they are not “sent away” with no reason: IF they are asked to leave there always is an important difficulty with their behaviour (usually some action against the italian law).
Said that, I love Spain and will not love it less beacuse I read some comments I don’t like from spanish people.
@ Solveig. Times are rough. Agreed.
    Have a good day.
    Maerry

  102. Spaniard says:

“Again, generalization is wrong on every level”

I agree with this, and sorry for the offense, I know a lot of italians(work with a lot of them) and I know that not everybody is racist, like there are racist people in Spain, of course, but when I read some things I can’t help but explode and I’m sure you feel the same.

    Cordiali salute

  103. laila says:

sorry guys but why are you now offending two wonderful countries like Italy and Spain just because we are disgusted to see a woman doing the most “ancient job” in the world just for improving her career abroad? It does not matter where she is from as women like her are everywhere in the world (unfortunately!). The point is another one: why is she having a career opportunity like this considering she is talentless and not particularly charming + with a very very bad english?

Is Clooney becoming the new Mr Berlusconi in the US by giving talentless girls a TV opportunity simply to sleep with them??

  104. Solveig says:

Spaniard, you didn’t offend me. I know you were talking moved by pride and anger.
An I for one don’t consider myself italian* with all the due respect for Italy and its history, culture and people (at least the ones with a working brain).
    ¡adiós!

*(for reasons that I won’t explain. I’m NOT a “leghista”!)

  105. Spaniard says:

Sorry Merry but I will never agree that illegal inmigration could be considered a crime, Wanting a better life and try to escape from poverty and death is a crime like kill or steal? no, it’s not, if you were in their skin you’ll try to do the same.
I know that Romanian gipsies have behavior problems sometimes but sending them off is not the solution, in their country they are not even allowed to enter in Bucarest (I have friends living there and they told me that they suffer racial segregation and that’s not fair), It would be better to try some integration policies like we did with our gipsies in the 80’s after the death of Franco who treated them like sh*t too.

Again sorry if I offend you but I pity people that have to leave their countries with nothing but some illusions because there was a time when we had to do the same.

    Ciao,

  106. 6 says:

Tim Hutton is quite the gentleman. All the attention is going to someone who has put in like 30 seconds of acting and she is getting all the attention. He seemed very polite about it all.

  107. Merry says:

@ Spaniard. Agreed, there always are better solutions for every situation. As of right now, though, Italy alone cannot deal with an immensely difficult process of integration that would require massive help from the UE.
On another note, I too feel sorry for those people who have to leave home to find a better chance at living. Half Italian families had members that had to do this (mine, too). One can only hope these moments shall pass.
    Good day.
    Merry

  108. Tazina says:

I don’t think she speaks good English so I won’t condemn her for the remarks she’s made. She might be coming across as totally different from what she actually means. However, if she doesn’t stop talking about her relationship with George Clooney he will soon have her belongings removed from the villa and as with Larsen, there will be one final eye to eye meeting and she will be history.

  109. sparkle586 says:

@ Tiff — I’m really not interested in your hateful race baiting other than to reiterate what I already said — all of which was stated as an opinion. I have a wonderful Italian family. My inlaws are fantastic, my husband’s friends are fantastic. They have all been very warm and accepting of me (oh, did I mention that I’m BLACK) while being very honest about the very real issues that their countrymen have with issues surrounding race and immigration. My husband was the first person who ever told me that Italians could be very racist (I had no idea — that came from an Italian). I dont have to defend my feelings on the matter because they are all based on love and family. And my opinions of the Spanish are based on my personal experience. I certainly recognize that they are not all racist anymore than the italians are all wonderful, but I have had some nasty encounters with the spanish. Thats all I can go by.

  110. sparkle586 says:

Btw, this whole topic of italian racism is funny to me because it was the heated topic of conversation around my MIL’s table at christmas dinner this year. My husband’s parents were not at all willing to admit that Italians have issues with racism and xenophobia but the younger generation (cousins, SIL, etc) all agreed wholeheartedly. It made for a rousing debate.

  111. sparkle586 says:

Sorry — one last comment because this topic is so relevant to my life (and I’m bored). So my inlaws spend the summer in Sardinia and I went there for the first time with my husband five years ago when we were dating. Basically, I’m pretty much the only black person that I ever see there (Naomi Campbell on her boyfriend’s yacht in Porto Cervo doesn’t count) other than the African immigrants selling cheap knock offs on the beach. So we got looks EVERYWHERE we went. People are not used to black women and white men there and my husband had to explain that they pretty much all thought that I was a prostitute. I was so happy when I went back the next time and we were married. I was practically waving my ring around like Sug Avery (“I’s married now!!”) and I was tempted to stamp “I’m not a hookah” on my forehead. But my experience is not unique. A girlfriend of mine who is also a sista, and who dated an Italian guy for like 5 years was highly offended when his MOTHER asked him if she was a prostitute when she first saw her picture (my friend was literally wearing a twin set and slacks — she’s a partner at a law firm). Yeah, they didnt make it to the altar.

  112. Cletus says:

THIS IS THE BEST THREAD EVAR.

Also, I didn’t think her English was so horrible, and I didn’t see where she came off as particularly smug, either. Her hair, however, is a damn shame and SHE’S 31 YEARS OLD? JESUS CHRIST, my GRANDMOTHER (God rest her) was better preserved at 75 than this poor girl. Clooney is a saint or something. Patron Saint of The Rode Hard and Put Up Wet.

  113. HookersRUs says:

I am surprised cB allowed this thread to continue. CB allowed a decent discussion to be taken over by team photo shop. and i must say it wasn’t itneresting in the slightest. Getting back to the ET clip, I noticed that the part where she says she is going to the emmys and how proud she is of him has been left out. Now that’s interesting!

  114. Leek says:

Why are they interviewing this trick when Timothy Hutton is standing right there???
There was a time I wanted to do dirty things with him.

  115. Palmer says:

#68 Solveig: Yes, I’m serious. (Student Mode ON) However, with all the in-fighting about countries’ attributes and their populations’ personalities, it seems rather mute to continue, but WTF…

Latin has been considered a DEAD language because no native speakers exist. (All the people who actually spoke it are dead.) It’s a written language for which one can learn the feminine/masculine construction and how to pronounce it phonetically, but that is where it ends. Only scholars “speak it” but they are, again, using a phonetic understanding of the accents and constructions that have come down to us.

As Mel Brooks would say, well–N-V-T-S, Nuts! (I love his humor.)

  116. She'sDone says:

why did ET (the tv broadcast, not the clips floating on the internet) cut the part about her being at the emmys? anybody posting that is not team photoshop trying to skew the thread with their dull blathering? she does have weird expressions and seems really jittery which i put down to her lying she says she will not be back and they she says no?! like tim wants her back wtf? i’m not following…

  117. justine says:

… Lake Como car crossed the gate of Villa Oleandra. George Clooney is at the door, down the stairs, lifts the trolley and greets the driver, “Thanks for having her home” Then the door opens: Elisabetta came home.
    – Vanity Fair –

  118. pink says:

why is she releasing so many interviews after one silent year?
why she’s saying all the world of their fantastic love (all the people are enviously of her, all other woman are ugly and she can have Clooney like a dog in her hands…gnè,gnè,gnè)?
why George doesn’t say a word on this skank weird relationship?
why doesn’t she speak on her drug and prostitution scandal?
her name is in the 2008 Milano police reports…

  119. Elm says:

I just watched the interview – talk about blatant lies!

More than once she denied ever being a model – what were all those nude / porno shots all over the internet – going back years and years?

It’s only after Clooney started dating her in 2006 (or earlier) that she moved out of porn onto non-porn magazine covers and modelling designer clothes?
    Isn’t that all modelling?

Gee – talk about adjustable memories …

And … as for Clooney – who had always exuded an aura of sophistication, humility and class – since publicly partnering with such a slutty and self-absorbed bitch – it infers that there is something in him that is just like her … I cannot see anything of his without being reminded of her drugdealer/ prostitute/ugliness – ugh!

I think they did get married that weekend in July and are waiting to disclose it at a convenient time – and he set up the VF pics – why else would he allow VF to interview/photo her at HIS house – and talk about personal matters to the public – its all been with his approval and likely to have been scripted by him as she appears such an airhead….

So if the pair of them like to believe that everyone is jealous or over-whelmed by them – they are seriously deluded …. I am so sick of celebrities and their narcissism – please just get this pair out of my face

  120. pink says:

yes! if George dated again with her after all the world knowing the truth on her and he he’s remaining relaxed with her around the world after the scandal trying to wash the scandal…I think he met her as cokewoh.re in Milano disco and he knew all about her…he’ll snort cocaine with her!

  121. Palmer says:

I think GC has found a way to get his wish, “A very private life without the press”. He can thank his girlfriend for that. When she held her hand up in that restaurant knowing she was being photographed–she went a bit too far.

He’s setting her up in the media for pomotion at every turn: Hollywood, TV and in movies soon (I’d bet), promoting her and hauling her around on his arm and his dime. Printing the words “Italian Beauty” everywhere. She’s no Sophia by a long shot.

Let him. We always knew he had really horrible taste in women. It used to be amusing. But it has turned into just plain sad with this one. You are what you hang with, G. Sorry, you are off my list of men to watch in the movies. I can’t hear or see you now without feeling you’ve f**ked your public by allowing this woman to run you.

So, have a private life and thank your girlfriend.

  122. pink says:

    private life without press?
she has always called paparazzi when she’s meeting her boy friend…all people in Italy know that…the same thing with George!
she ant only money, success, world-wide attention and using George for this as in the past Muccino, Rossi, a lot of soccers…

  123. marcy says:

“My first job was a presenter”
    WTF?!?!
She became famous for being a showgirl in a TV program where her main function was that of dancing and showing her body. Then she got some parts on a couple of TV series, but she never distinguished herself for her acting.
I feel sorry for all the talented people who are pulled back by these kind of things…
