  1. Remember Kate Hudson answered, “Katherine Heigl? Who?” when asked about the star from “Knocked UP”? I laughed so hard.

I don’t know why those actor/actresses always think movies are more glamerous than TV. It might be trued in the past but nowadays TV programs are big deal, especially when DVD packs are so popular. “Wired”, “House”…..all the TV programs are much better than most movies.

I personally will choose those good TV over bad movies any time.

  2. She’s wearing high-waisted jeans. Huh. I don’t think I want to go back there.

  3. A lot has been said about JA’s “lack” of a film career… but she was so, so, so successful with friends that I doubt that she really needs to have a film career… I’m sure she wouldn’t need to work another day, ever, if she didn’t want to.

Now that is something to emulate.

  4. I’m not sure if she proved she could act in the Good Girl or proved that Rachel could be depressed.

Caitlin, that would be fine if that satisfied JA which is clearly doesn’t.

And I detest Katherine Heigl and will have nothing to do with anything she is in.

  5. And maybe JA hasn’t had a stellar film career thus far, but if you look on IMDB, she’s in post with two films, filming one, and is attached to two more. Obviously, the fact that she hasn’t found the proper vehicle has not prevented her from finding new jobs. I personally thought she was very good in “Friends with Money.”

  6. KH has just been lucky to be in 2 well written, funny movies–Ok, sorry I haven’t seen 27 dresses so I’m really only speaking about Knocked Up–but as I recall, she wasn’t the one who made them funny. It was the writers. If JA got into a movie with a good script, she’d be great too (for examples of horribly written movies, please rent, no borrow The Breakup. That was wretched!)

  8. I would not spend $10 in a theater to see the movies of either one of these women, but I do order them on Netflix. Their movies aren’t great, but they are good enough for a reality break.

  9. she also might not want to emulate david caruso. he was on a hugely popular television cop show, but swished away from it with his nose in the air because he wanted to be a hyper-famous movie star. oops! his bad. not a blockbuster on his resume for years, and years, and years. now he’s again on the radar, for a hugely popular television cop show. csi miami. right back where he started. but he apparently learned his lesson, no noise about how he’s too good for television this time around!

  10. just read lola lola’s comment about if ja got a well written movie script she’d be great. that’s part of being an actor. being able to pick good scripts. does liam neeson consistently pick dog scripts? maggie gyllenhal? a good actor may occasionally get stuck in a clunker, but to consistently choose sophomoric comedies that require no stretching of the acting chops? that’s not a great actress, that’s someone trying to coast along on her fame.

  11. All of these ” It girl ” actresses make a few movies and then in 5 years we’ll all be saying ” What ever happened to Katherine Heigl? “.

  12. Grey’s Anatomy is popular, but Friends is iconic. There’s no comparison between the two.

Movies has long hours, but usually, 6 weeks of misery and you’re done, a lot of the time. TV is an exhausting grind–same sort of hours, but for at least half a year at a time.

You can get a lot more projects completed in a year if you’re not tied to a TV show. Establishing a movie career also would spread her brand and give her more publicity.

I’m just tired of seeing her. Or any of the Grey’s Anatomy people, really.

  13. Im a hugh fan of Aniston, loved Friends, my favorite TV show, and shes been in a few movies I loved…”Rock Star” with Mark Walberg, and “The good girl”with Jake G. Those were two of my favorites.

  14. Speaking from Hollywood standpoint, you can read a great script, sign on for the ride, the filming goes great, and you think you’ve done some good work. You go back in and cover your ADR and everything looks pretty good. Then in 8 months to a year later you go to see it, and it’s nothing like the original script you read. It gets edited to shit and then there are test audiences, then changes and changes and then the studio says it’s too long and they cut out the parts that explain why the characters are doing what they are doing. It’s rare that they leave a director alone and don’t send pages and pages of notes from various execs, who ablsolutely know what they are talking about becasue their Dad was a director on McCloud. Hollywood movies are pretty much a crap shoot for actors. And regarding DVD’s actors get next to nothing for those if they get anything at all, that’s really what the writers strike was all about. The studios get all the income from those avenues.

oh yeah, and bring back those high waisted jeans. They make your ass look great and eliminate the muffin-top-coin-slot every and i mean EVERY..and there’s alot of bad size 16 in that every– chick in LA has.

  15. wow. there are size 16 chicks in l.a.? i thought they wouldn’t let anyone in who was above a size 6! thought they had road blocks on the edge of town to prevent it.

and while i see your point about how a good script goes bad, ja has her own production company, doesn’t that give her some power over her scripts? at least enough to avoid vince vaughn and ben stiller movies?

as for your love of “mom jeans”, i’m sure you’ve made many moms very happy on this mother’s day. they’ll have a certain strut to their walk as they do the grocery shopping knowing that you think their high waisted jeans are seeexxy!

  16. ok–there is a difference between what Katherine is wearing and “Mom” jean and you know it. And don’t stop believin “Journey”, you’ll get fashion one day too!

  17. Both JA and KH are deserving actresses.
Unlike so many other “actresses”, they are pretty, likeable and can act.

KH is sweet and knows what she is doing.
JA is a very good actress who chose some indie projects andtook risks and showed her range.

After all the comedies she has done, and were successful, she did “Friends with Money” and “Derailed” which was very good and dark.

So many others keep having failed movies and show no talent like Lindsey Lohan, Jennifer Garner, Angelina Jolie and they keep getting more films, despite all the films that failed.

  18. Didn’t feel one way or another about Ms Heigl but loathed her character Izzie on Grey’s. Now however, in light of some of her comments I can’t stand the actress herself. She calls it being outspoken and telling it like it is. I call it being a bitch.

  19. What? A whiny brittle grasping semi-spinster has-been that the tabs can’t shut the f*ck about the fact her ex-husband is slipping it to Angelina Jolie?

  20. wants to avoid a fate like Jennifer Aniston’s???! Katherine Heigel has got to be kiddin. I mean, JA is one of the most poweful people in showbiz. She still has a very long way to go before she can compare herself to JA.
