Sofia Vergara on her boobs: “No matter what I wear, I look like a stripper”

wenn5539847

As I’ve long said, one of the best parts about Modern Family is Sofia Vergara. She is just wonderful, and I love that she’s getting so much attention lately, giving more and more hilarious interviews, and being just so lovely. I can’t help it – I think she’s hysterical and honest and fabulous, and so I love whatever interview she does. Well, Sofia is the cover girl for the October issue of Self (cover image here), and her interview is awesome. She talks more about her boobs and being a natural blonde and my absolute favorite, how she is unable to play a scientist.

Modern Family’s Sofia Vergara has come a long way from the girl she was when she was 13 – a natural blonde bombshell-in-training who had yet to embrace her, um, assets.

“I wanted surgery,” she tells Self magazine in its October issue. “I told my mom, ‘As soon as I’m older, please take these boobs away.’ She said, ‘Sofia, shut up. When you’re 18, it will be different.’ ‘I was like, ‘Why would I want these huge tits?’ I’m a 34 DD. It’s hard to dress. No matter what I wear, I look like a stripper.”

But as the actress, 38, settles into her red-hot role as feisty Colombian housewife Gloria Delgado Pritchett on ABC’s Emmy-winning best sitcom, she’s come to terms with her bra size.

“I’m grateful I have them, and honestly, they’ve helped me a lot in my career,” she says. “And I’ve always felt sexy.”

Another career move? Ditching her blonde roots.

“I’m a natural blonde, but when I started acting, I would go to auditions, and they didn’t know where to put me because I was voluptuous and had the accent – but I had blonde hair,” she says. “The moment I dyed my hair dark, it was, ‘Oh, she’s the hot Latin girl.’ I loved it … Being brunette toned me down a bit.”

Embracing her on-screen identity, the actress has the attitude to keep herself – and her career – staying strong.

“For every 100 roles that come out for another actress, there are two that fit somebody like me,” she says. “I mean, I cannot play a scientist. I know who I am. I know how I look. I know how I sound. I’m not going to tell my agent, ‘Book me for Schindler’s List 2.'”

[From People]

“Book me for Schindler’s List 2”! Hilarious. Also, Sofia is lucky because even though she “looks like a stripper” with her big boobs, she also has a long enough torso where she can show off her defined waist – so, yes, people only focus on the boobs, but the rest of her body is pretty gorgeous too.

Here’s video of Sofia talking about eating and working out. She sounds like she‘s white-knuckling it, trying not to eat desserts all day, everyday:

I wish she would take it all off for me.

  2. la_chica says:

she might have had light brown hair once, but there is no way in hell she is a natural blonde now…

  3. Kaboom says:

Cloning her a couple thousand times would make the world a more enjoyable place.

  4. HotPockets says:

I know that feeling! I got a 34F bust and a size one waist, all natural. No complaints, except for the comments from others. People make you feel like you’re a promiscuous- stripper- porno fantasy when you have big melons.

  5. tango says:

Oh poor thing having big boobs and naturally blonde hair with that face and body. Sounds like the kind of suffering many women could only hope to experience.

I hate when beautiful women complain about how hard it is to deal with their beauty.

  6. QQ says:

I’m fed Up with her! THERE i’ve said It, that chick has lived in this country for over 10 years and as a Fellow Latina that came way old to completely delete the accent I KNOW when I’m being put upon (and boy, are we all) , also I’m sorry honey Boo hoo on your boobs and dyeing your hair black and such: But you know what?? cry me a river and get over it, You cannot moan and go on and on about Gringos narrow views of Latinos and blah blah blah when you continue to enrich from it, showing your tits and doing the vapid Latina with big accent trick, Not to mention all we all knew you from in you Latin Tv days in Univision was from Putting a Calendar every Year and in fact bouncing about showing the very nice boobs and everything in between.

Talk about something else already or quit with the walking Stereotype (accent included) if it bothers you so much

    • Tina says:

      you’re so jealous!
accent can be ‘erased’ if you were 6 years or younger when you learned the language. If that’s not your case and somehow you think you’re so smart, news flash, the only thing you erased was your ability to hear your own accent, congratulations!

  7. LOVE ANGELINA says:

LOL oooo number 1 your a freak.

Yea I like her, she is sooo funny. Now I have to try and watch Modern Family. Ugh. Now why see people have Tivo.

  8. Leticia says:

@La_Chica, you are so right. Maybe she was blonde as a child, but I don’t see how she is still naturally blonde, because there is never ever a hint of blond growth at the hair line. And no one touches up their hair every day. Look at Paltrow and Madonna, who always have a hint of roots.

No matter what her natural hair color is, she is absolutely beautiful and has a perfect figure.

  9. Rachael says:

    She is fabulous!

  10. Jen says:

On the contrary, I don’t think she’s complaining at all. She complained when she was younger, but now she’s all about it. I like that she doesn’t complain (a la Megan Fox) that no one takes her seriously because of her looks.

I think she is beautiful and funny! I love her on Modern Family. Love her!

  11. Tinks says:

She is ADORABLE. I love her on Modern Family.

  12. Schnauzers!!! says:

I have never seen her act, but she seems like a really cool woman! And she’s beautiful too!! Better lock up my hubby! hahaha

  13. K-MAC says:

    she is absolutely darling!

  14. Musicfan says:

I dont think she is complaining about her looks, she is just talking about how that she cant ever really dress down, without looking like she swings from a pole! LOL. Plus imagine having a mom who looks like that? Her son is 18 years old, and she talked about going to all his school events and everything his whole life *She was a single mom*, and all the other guys talking about how hot his mom was.

She is AWESOME ON MODERN FAMILY!

  15. california angel says:

Natural blonde is actually light brown, it wouldn’t grow back platinum. My roommate is fully Mexican, blonde and has blue eyes. She always tells me how it is really hard for her career to sound latina and not look it, for certain jobs she has to tone down her accent and etc., for other jobs she has to play it up, and for her singing career they like the blonde look so its a catch 22. Either way she rocks it so it shouldn’t matter what she looks like, you know. I don’t know who this actress is but, good interview, she’s beautiful!

  16. Stephy2485 says:

    She is a treat, lol
She seems so down to earth and very
much aware of the way Hollywood/TV works (or doesn’t).

I will begin copying her sucker-trick and have one of those instead of cookies, lol

  17. kim says:

Love her!!! Love her honesty and that she isnt whining about lack of roles and realizes reality of what she can play & is generous for what she has. More celebs ahould be like her esp these young ones who act like fame is a downer yet pose for every tabloid out there.

  18. Crash2GO2 says:

Ha! It is rare that even real blonds (unless you are extremely light light LIGHT blond) have blond roots. They usually grow in fairly dark and then lighten pretty quickly with exposure to light and chemicals. So it’s much easier to maintain darker hair if you are a blond than vis versa. Both my daughter and I are blonds, but if you look at our roots and the hair on the backs of our necks that rarely see sunlight, it is about 4 to 5 shades darker – in fact, what my hairdresser calls ‘brown’. My daughter has been in the pool so much all summer, that a lot of her natural highlights are white.

  19. liz says:

I can agree with what she’s saying. I’m 5’1, 34DD, 100lbs size 34 jeans, so any time I shop for clothes, my large breast size makes that very difficult. I sometimes feel like I look larger than I am because of them or that I look disproportionate. Of course, my boyfriend disagrees

  20. danielle says:

Lol, I have a curvy body (not as good as hers!!!) – stuff tends to look super risque on me that would look fine on someone else. I don’t say that in a complaining or bragging sort of way – it’s just how things are!

  21. jamie says:

she’s def a natural blonde.it’s hard to believe, but i’ve seen pictures that aren’t too old where her hair is blonde.and not a bleach blonde

  22. TQB says:

hey, I dig it – I have small boobs and wanted larger, but I understand the downside. Heck, even with small ones, half the time it’s hard to get someone to look you in the eye, you know? Don’t be all “she’s complaining about being hot, boohoo” – every size woman has their issues. As far as playing into the Latina stereotype, WTF is she supposed to do? Be an unemployed actor to prove a point? What point would that be, considering that instead they would cast someone who fit the “type” anyway?

  23. Blaster says:

    Oh god…

She mentioned she’s doing the Tracy Anderson Method….blerrrrgh….

  24. Sally says:

Well, as another curvy gal (32FF, size 2) I have to admit she’s right to an extent – but it is possible to dress and not look like a stripper! E.g. she doesn’t really look stripper-ish in that sparkly dress. Plus I’m a scientist, so go figure..

  25. Jo 'Mama' Besser says:

Well, I like her a lot on MF (singing to Lily was priceless), she’s very funny. Still,…at least she’s more interesting than Christina Hendricks.

Does it seem like all female actresses do these days in their interviews is talk about their breasts? Maybe I’m just jealous because I haven’t had my full eight glasses of sexy today.

  26. Sigh. Sofia. Not only is she scorching hot she’s a great interview too. I mean one mention of 34DD and I’m all ears.

  27. sparkledog says:

she is gorgeous! i truly hope she isn’t all botoxed up this time next year…she’d be crazy to touch that face!

  28. Kiska says:

Just because one has big knockers doesn’t mean they can’t dress properly.

  29. Isa says:

” No matter what I wear, I look like a stripper.” –And this is why I have always wanted big boobs! jk.

I totally get what she is saying. As a small busted woman I can get away with a lower cut shirt than someone with larger breasts. Our dress code in high school simply stated, “No cleavage.” and I would joke that I could wear a shirt cut down to my belly button!
A lot of shirts these days are cut low and sure, cleavage can be covered up by wearing a cami but it’s too hot for those!

I don’t think it sounds like she was complaining at all. I think it seems as if she didn’t really accept herself when she was younger but has grown to over the years. I think she is beautiful. I love how she doesn’t try to pretend that her acting is ART!

  30. koala says:

i just lost respect for her. she is not a natural blonde in any way, shape, or form.

    she’s a liar.

  31. koala says:

maybe she’ll try to say that’s her “natural” nose next…

  32. leuce7 says:

She’s not complaining about how hard it is to be beautiful at all, she actually acknowledges how much it’s played a role in her success.

I knew a girl in the sixth grade who was a D-cup before she was twelve, and she suffered for it back then, so I can totally understand Sofia V saying the same at the same age. It brings really unwelcome attention to what is essentially a child in a woman’s body; that must be rough when you’re going through all these changes.

Also, I doesn’t surprise me she would have more success with dark hair, and it’s not just a “gringo” thing, nor do I even think it’s a complaint. I’m Mexican, and while I have dark hair and eyes, I’m quite light-skinned. I moved to New York, became a teacher, and had the hardest time convincing my Latino students that I was Mexican, because according to them, I didn’t “look” it. People do have a strong idea of what others look like, and if you’re an actor, that’s a huge part of your job.

As for accents, some people keep them forever (I don’t think Arnold Schwarzenegger is putting his on, and he’s been here way longer), and even if English isn’t your second language, you might even have regional accents that won’t go away even when you’re no longer in that region; sometimes they don’t even soften much. I’ve been told I have one; I don’t even hear it.

  33. Theuth says:

Don’t know her, but I like this interview, she sound very honest about her body and her abilities: she understands her limits, and doesn’t complain about been always chosen in the same role! Much better than all those “actress” who think beauty is a bargain against their career (JBiel).
I too can relate about looking Latina: as an Italian, people (even in my country!) assume that I should be dark skinned, with dark hair and so on, and I’m simply not, so they start speaking to me in English and commenting about my “lack of mediterranean blood”…way to perpetrate stereotypes.

  34. Mimi says:

She is a natural honey blonde, look it up.

  35. bb says:

Natural blonde or not I know for a fact that body is not all natural. There’s some quite recent bikini pictures of her that show some really obvious stomach lipo and tummy tuck- I’m talking Tara Reid obvious.

It’s possible she’s a natural blonde. I’m a natural blonde, and if I grow my hair out entirely natural it looks decidedly medium blonde, but if I dye it platinum in a couple of weeks I have really dark looking roots.

  36. nnn says:

I always loved her and yes, she is a natural honey blonde.

  37. Jenny says:

Love her! So funny and beautiful.

And regardless of her natural colouring the dark hair suits her really well due to her dark complexion and eyes. I’m so jealous of people who can pull off different looks like that :/ I’m super blond (almost white haired in the summer)and with my blue eyes and so-pale-I’m-almost-transparent-skin I look terrible in any other hair colour than my own.

  38. Darlene says:

I think she’s gorgeous. I don’t think she’s complaining about her body or her looks. She’s just talking realistically about her opportunities in Hollywood.

MORE SOFIA VERGARA, all around, please.

She’s real, she’s funny and she makes me smile every time I see her or read her interviews. Very, very few celebrities can do that.

    She’s a winner. LOVE HER!

  39. Maritza says:

She is funny, charming and beautiful.

  40. pebbles says:

I love her. I could listen to her all day. The way she says, “lunch.” Love.

  41. Fishlips says:

I always thought that she has nice boobies.

I am a straight, married woman, but that doesn’t mean that I can’t admire.

  42. wow... says:

Daaamn, there are some fine ass women posting here…

    Talking about # 4, 19, 20, and 24.

  43. GT says:

I can only wish I had her body!! She’s gorgeous and funny, love Modern Family!!

  44. valerie says:

us latinos call her “sofia viagra”!

  45. MissVJJ says:

Sofia makes me proud to be a sexy, busty, Latina bombshell!!!

  46. Messenger says:

I do not get a stripper vibe from Sofia. She seems genuinely sweet and is very engaging. Her accent is part of her public image I would imagine, like Charo in her day. Who you are on the inside always shows through. You can’t hide who you are. She has natural assets many pay big bucks for these days and they are unattractive after the fact. It is now acceptable to get implants I guess especially if you are in show biz but yuck! how do you live with them? There are many large breasted actresses who never give off anything but a majestic vibe…sophia loren & raquel welch to name two..it is all in the way you love yourself!

  47. Thanks for any other great article. The place else may anybody get that type of information in such a perfect manner of writing? I have a presentation next week, and I’m on the search for such information.
