In “kids say the darndest things” news, Angelina Jolie gave an interview to GMTV in which she mentioned that daughter Zahara thinks she’s pregnant… with a pig. I could understand if Zahara thought Angelina was pregnant with a pig… not even piglets, but a full-sized pig. Angie is huge right now. But apparently Zahara likes pretending she’s pregnant too, and has decided she’ll be having a pig. Nothing wrong with that. It’s certainly one of the more useful animals.
Angelina Jolie says her adopted daughter Zahara thinks she’s going to give birth to a pig. The 3-year-old is trying to be like her mum, who is expecting twins with partner Brad Pitt, 45.
“The kids are excited and they are starting to understand about me being pregnant,” Ange explains. “We’ve had it before with Shiloh so they know what’s going on. Zahara pretends she’s pregnant too and says she has an animal in her tummy. She says the piggy is making her eat all the chocolate brownies.”
And 4-year-old Pax also reckons he’s pregnant.
“Pax says he’s got a baby monkey inside him.” Ange tells GMTV. “So it’s really fun in our house at the moment.”

I really like this idea of getting to pick exactly what it is you’re pregnant with. The other day I was watching this special on baby pandas on NPR’s website, and I decided I really wanted one. If only I’d consulted the Jolie-Pitt children first, I would have found out I could birth my own panda. Seriously, I think this is a good idea all around. Though somebody should probably let Zahara know what’s up at some point. Or in about 25 years she’s going to be really disappointed.

Yeesh! I’m glad to see angelina has gotten some meat on her bones since these pix were taken. Hopefully she’ll keep it on after she has her babies. I think she looks SO much prettier when she’s not so gaunt.

I don’t like it that she exploits the privacy of her children just to promote a movie.
She always does it, whether for photo ops or this tidbits of information that lets us in thei lives.
They have a right to privacy and no matter how it is important to her to promote her career, it should not come on the expense of her children.
When they will be older, the media will be all over them, since she has let the media in their private lives.

I just found out to be pregnant of my first child! I am so happy and soooo excited that I feel like am gonna explode …lol
But am hella scared at the same time…especially cuz am living in a foreign country, far far away from home!!!Anyways,
I have professional experience with children so I already now all about the challenges and the joys of being surrounded by them and their delighful minds!!!!! And Zahara´s reaction to her mommy´s pregnany is probably the most common of all amongst the young ones… but still lovely!
Now as a mother to be I am really starting to identify myself with Mrs. Jolie, for the very first time ever! lol -

She lies a lot, I wouldn’t be surprised if she made up these stories for the press. Remember when she said she was computer illiterate in one interview and said she used the internet in the following interview. Then she said she would take a year off this year. She lies a lot and these stories seem made up to me. Those kids seem like they will eventually hate her especially Z.

I am not a fan of JA at all. That doesn’t mean that angelina can just exploit her children and offer these private moments as part of her PR for a movie.
and, yes, at least in the past Angelina lied. She promised she would be a stay at home mom, and went to work full time after renaming that boy to a more commercial name (’Pax’).
I don’t care at all about JA’s career or love life, but I do care about children and don’t like it when instead of being a responsible parent, you are using their privacy to advance your career.

Sorry if I came across as being narky - but this woman brings out the worst in some commentators here, and JA is often used as a stick to beat her with.
MM, I’m not trying to pick a fight with you, but I do think you’re reading too much into her actions. It’s something that many parents - both celebs and ordinary - do is share anecdotes about their kids. A lot of women’s magazines have sections dedicated to that very thing - and let’s not even start on video-clip programmes where family members send in videos of their kids doing cute or daft things.
I understand you consider this exploitative, and perhaps that is a valid point. Just because lots of people do something - doesn’t make it right. It can be desperately embarrassing for kids to listen to parents bang on about silly things they do or say - but so long as it’s not insulting, I personally don’t think it’s the worst thing. But I do respect your decision to disagree
But if you start that with Angie, in the interests of fairness you’re going to have to get angry at every interviewee that mentions their kids, and that just seems daft and a colossal waste of time.

Almost with you on that one, however, Angelina didn’t just meet an old friend when she offered that story about her child,
but rather set in a well prepared publicity event for her upcoming film.IF someone goes on a job interview and chooses to use the privacy of his children to generate positive reaction, she is hiding behind her children.
It’s a calculated step in order to be seen in a positive light, while exploiting her children.

Maireed–You are so right. Whatever Angelina says or does, people will find negativity in it. Angelina offers tidbits here and there about her family-maybe that is becaused the media is obsessed with her family and if she were to stay quiet, the obsession would only get worse. She is a good person–she is not laying on the beach flaunting her body like a certain attention seeker who shall remain nameless. She and Brad do great things for the less fortunate.

How many years will it take for every gossip piece to stop using “adopted” as an adjective? I’m pretty sure that if Angelina Jolie is at all a good parent, she considers the kid her daughter, period, no adjective. So why does every article point that out when it’s not related to the piece?
More importantly, did Jolie throw out those freaky shoes she’s wearing? They’re the same color as her skin and at first glance, I thought she had crazy webbed feet or something.

How come nobody point out Zahara is referring to Shiloh? THe little girl is speaking from her own experiences. She saw a pig popping out of Mama’s belly last time!
Zahara thinks Angelina Jolie’s pregant with pigs = Shiloh is a pig in her eyes.

MM had an interesting, articulate and consistent point that she disagrees with parents using their children to make themselves look better, using this story as an example of that.
But where in the name of all that is sacred and sane did you get the idea that Miss Z was calling Shiloh a pig? Then who exactly was Pax calling a monkey then? Eh?

I feel I must say that gggh is not moi, and I do not agree with him/her. I like Angie, I like Jennifer Aniston. Brad Pitt’s okay, I guess. And all their children are cute. I see no problem here, except the older picture of Angie sporting what look like horribly undernourished muscles on her legs.

It makes me uncomfortable when someone just reaches out and pats my belly..Then I have some people touch my belly and it seems totally natural. So for me It depends on who it is. I’ve had 1 person ask if she may touch my belly in 34 weeks of pregnancy and it made my day that she would have enough respect to ask…
