Even hardened criminals have a code of honor, which does not include any sort of child abuse. Guys guilty of hurting kids in any way generally get taken out by the other inmates. Not that I'm an ex-con or anything - but several of my relatives have worked in the prison system AND I used to hang out at some pretty sleazy bars.
