Okay, when I first read the headline at Radar, I thought Snooki was currently being hospitalized for alcohol poisoning, but it turns out that Radar’s story is about an incident that happened weeks or even months ago. I guess it just happened chronologically on the Jersey Shore show, but I have no idea why we didn’t hear about this incident before now. According to Radar, Snooki went on such an extreme binge that Jersey Shore producers actually stepped in and took her to have her stomach pumped, probably:
Jersey Shore star Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi was hospitalized after a booze fueled bender during taping for the second series of the hit MTV program, RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned. The scary near-death incident occurred during a wild night out at a South Beach, Miami, nightclub, in May.
One source, who was on-set at the time, admitted to RadarOnline.com, “She was so drunk that she had to be carried out of the nightclub ‘Dream’ by the show’s producers.”
Snooki was rushed to a local Miami hospital where she was treated for suspected alcohol poisoning. The incident had been kept a closely-guarded secret until it emerged that the show’s top brass decided to leave it out of last Thursday’s episode of the show.
During the version that aired, a visibly drunk Snooki was seen playing with co-star J-Woww and her boyfriend Tom Lippolis’ feet while they were attempting to ‘smush’. While slurring her words, Snooki stumbled into Vinny’s bed and crashed on her feet.
The frightening hospital scare occurred the same night a 24-year-old Florida claimed she was attacked Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola, leaving her with a bruise under her eye.
The show’s stars dubbed the eventful night out “Fight Night”, we’re told.An MTV spokeswoman would not comment when contacted by RadarOnline.com, while Snooki’s rep did not return our request. It’s not known the exact treatment Snooki underwent as a result of her excessive booze intake, but alcohol poisoning is often treated with stomach pumping or gastric lavage, where the stomach is washed out using a saline solution.
According to our source, “Snooki was out of commission for about two days and was left in pain after undergoing the hospital treatment.”
Snooki’s wild partying ways have become a central focus of the popular series, which is watched by a whopping 5.5 million viewers each week.
Earlier this month, Snooki was fined $500 and ordered to perform community service as punishment for being drunk and disorderly on the beach. But the judge also admonished Snooki, labelling her “rude, profane, obnoxious and self-indulgent” and even calling her a “Lindsay Lohan wannabe.”
Snooki later blamed a Tequila binge for a foulmouthed outburst at the cops who arrested her.
“It was a good wakeup call for me,” Snoooki said at an MTV press event. “It definitely embarrassed my family and that’s just not good… My dad was very, very p**sed. He’s like, ‘I didn’t raise you like this.’ Now when I go out, I only have a couple drinks. I learned that I need to calm down with drinking. It’s just a drunken mistake. Obviously I like to party. I like to have a good time but maybe I’m overdoing it a little too much. So right now I’m just watching myself and I can have a good time not drinking.”

Since I don’t watch, this really means nothing to me. But isn’t this par for the course? I mean, aren’t all of them always drunk and brawling? And doesn’t Snooki especially have a problem with alcohol? Why do her friends continue to let her drink? Why do Jersey Shore producers continue to film and enable this behavior? Although, if this story is true, it sounds like they’re trying to cover it up, probably because they now how bad it is – and how liable they are, legally and morally.

Snooki is usually drunk or getting there (like the rest of the cast).
But! Isn’t this par for the course for most of these dama themed reality TV shows? They provide the booze which lowers inhibitions and film the resulting trainwrecks?

kaiser, you ask why jersey shore producers continue to film and enable snookie’s behavior. ratings. that’s it. if the show is pulling in viewers, thereby fattening the wallets of those involved, there will be no reining in of anyone. reality shows (which are anything but real) are the dregs of entertainment. the ‘stars’ are given seasonal storyboards and plotlines then are set up in manufactured situations and given the green light to say and do whatever they want to within the parameters of that season’s storyline. since there’s no actual scripted dialogue, it’s considered reality. yeah–snort–okay.

This just makes me nuts; It is exactly what another comment stated. They are paying her to stay drunk and make an ass of herself. And there is some sick twisted section of America who eats it up. I’ve never watched the show, but I feel like I have because of how saturated the media is with these cretins. Award shows, every tab site, Shit- the nightly news reports on Snookie before they address anything else! Truly sad and pathetic. I’ve banned MTV from our house- if my kids get caught watching anything on it, I threaten to make them watch the 700 club. MTV needs to be shamed into ditching this trash.

This show is so entertaining. Im not ashamed to admit that I will not miss an episode, and I love Snooki! Oh and you guys are gonna focus on people on the show who have alcohol problems, why are you just focusing on Snooki??? So you guys can hear a bunch of haters whine about how she looks? Did you guys not know that Ronnie on the show has a MAJOR alcohol problem?

I’m not sure I get the outrage. I’d hate to hear what some of you would say about my college years, because we all got dangerous amounts of drunk at least once or twice. I’m not saying that’s good but a lot of young adults go thru a time where they think they’re invincible. I did. Granted, no one was encouraging me to, I just like to party. Thankfully I’ve grown out of it.

OK, I get it that she’s everywhere, but really, I’m sick of reading comments that start with “I’ve never watched the show, but…” followed by a pronouncement regarding her health or the production values.
I had me a little JS marathon this weekend. Do not waste your time on sympathy for these people, they are quite crafty and fully aware that they are getting paid thousands of dollars to do what they would normally do anyway. The Situation actually looks into the camera and WINKS every now and then.

They are being paid $20k an episode. It’s their job to bring ratings. As long as the media fixates on the Lohan, Hilton and Kardashian antics, networks will continue to make shows reflecting this crap. It’s up to the audience to decide what they want and America is telling them yes.
