“I was like, ‘You picked a green fruit from the tree that’s far from ripe.”

If she’s 14, I’m guessing the guy was closer to 18, like maybe a senior? I can totally understand that. I wasn’t allowed to go on ‘group dates’ until I was 15, and I couldn’t go on single dates until I was 16. There’s a big difference between 14 and 16.

That is cute. Especially since he hasn’t entirely forgotten what it’s like to be young and figures they are still secretly dating but is going to take her somewhere where her “phone won’t work” and the guy will move on.

He also sees the Ali Lohan and Rumer Willis’ out there and doesn’t want that path for his kids.

My dad hated every guy I dated and when he met the guy who’s now my husband, he shook his hand so hard and looked him dead in the eye. My now husband knew what he was doing, didn’t wince and returned his gaze. My dad always liked this one.

I heard the same thing from many a dad when I was dating. It’s good to see a famous poppa really looking out for his daughter- Are you paying attention, Billy Ray?

  4. vdantev says:

I got the same speech when I was dating. It’s good to see a famous poppa looking out for his daughter.

*Anything controversial about THAT version ?*

Wow, you know that girl is going to grow up and do everything she can to piss her father off. That will be fun

On my page there’s a “NuvaRing” once a month birth control ad right under the article. That cracks me up.

But I agree he shouldn’t go too far and have her go totally crazy rebeling. But at 14 he should look out for any older guys.

Is it a right of passage to out you and your daughter’s tiffs to the press, though? Guy’s a douche, is what I mean. Massengil.

  8. Starla says:

I think Terrence remembers what it was like to be a guy his daughter’s age (16,17?) & the guys are looking for one thing. Not that girls aren’t. But from a fathers point of view, he’ll do what he has to do to watch over his daughter & watch the guys that are around.
Should he just hand her a box of condoms & say’ “I know you’re going to this, I don’t give a shit who the guy is, so go crazy”?

  9. baby says:

she is going to hate his ass!

  10. Dahvidae says:

I think his controling nature has more to do his his gigantic male ego as opposed to his daughters welfare
