Khloe Kardashian: “Getting pregnant is much harder than we thought”

final-cover-1041

I know a lot of you were/are grossed out by Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom’s marriage and epic TMI (including this gross makeout photo). But I have a confession to make: Khloe is my favorite of the Kardashian women, and I’ve been pleasantly surprised with how strong Khloe and Lamar seem. I didn’t think their marriage would make it a year, and now that they have, I’m kind of rooting for them. Another thing that surprises me? That Khloe hasn’t gotten knocked up yet. I keep expecting an announcement, but we’ve gotten nothing. Nothing except this kind of sad interview that Khloe did with Life & Style. Khloe basically says that she and Lamar have been trying to get pregnant, but it’s still a no-go:

Khloé Kardashian and Lamar Odom are itching to expand their family but it’s taking longer than they’ve expected, Khloé reveals to Life & Style. “I thought I’d be pregnant by now,” she tells Life & Style. “We’ve been working at it all year.”

But she has a great attitude about it. “Getting pregnant is much harder than we thought — but practicing making babies is amazing!” Khloé tells Life & Style.

In fact, Lamar is so intent on starting a family that he’s even bought Khloé a fertility monitor to gauge when she’s ovulating.

“Khloé’s been using the monitor for about a month now,” a family insider tells Life & Style. “They’re trying more actively than ever before. Lamar is very serious — Khloé should be pregnant very, very soon.”

The reality star was also spotted this summer with GNC women’s prenatal vitamins.

And it’s not grandparents Kris and Bruce Jenner who are most eager for the couple to start their family right now.

“The pressure’s on from Kourtney, actually,” Lamar told Life & Style at the Axe Music One Night Only event. “She wants [her son] Mason to have cousins that are really close in age to him.”

Life & Style can also reveal the couple is hoping for twins!

“Lamar is praying for twins — a boy and a girl,” says the insider. “Khloé loves how excited Lamar is about the possibility of having twins.”

[From Life & Style]

Except for the crap about twins (eh), I do think Khloe and Lamar have been trying and they really, really want to get pregnant. I also suspect the fertility issues are Khloe’s, not Lamar’s. Remember, Lamar is already a baby-daddy to, like, two or three other kids. His swimmers are fine. I’m not judging, I just think that Khloe and Lamar should probably go see a fertility specialist – they have lots of options!

This is the 5th or 6th tabloid cover about Khloe and Lamar wanting kinds, thinking they were pregnant, etc. in a year. Life & Style along with InTouch Weekly run the same tabloid cover every other week. Khloe & Lamar just celebrated their 1 year wedding aniversary and instead of Life & Style having Khloe and Lamar on the cover they put all three sisters on the cover.

  2. gillie says:

i watched my very first episode of Keeping up with the Kardashians yesterday. I was shocked by how much I actually liked Khloe, and how she comes across as much more level headed than any others in her fam. Good luck to her and her husband.

  3. Marjalane says:

The problem is obvious. One of you has to be a woman.

  4. Anaya says:

I don’t understand why some newly married couples are in such a rush to become parents. Khloe and Lamar barely knew each other before marrying in the first place and now they want babies, babies, babies. Slow your roll Khlomar.

Enjoy what little time you have together. Wait another year to try for kids. I suspect Khloe may need to see a fertility specialist but what do I really know about her reproductive history?

All of the other women in her family had no problem conceiving their kids. Kourtney didn’t. Kris gave birth to a total of 6 kids herself. If it’s meant to be it’ll happen for them just don’t stress over it. Keep enjoying being married cuz there’s plenty of time for kids later.

khloe is my fave too! and i’m rooting for her & lamar to make it, be legit… whatever.

she has the most sense & seems the least entitled. i really like her mouth too! she doesn’t hesitate to speak on something. shes actually pretty well spoken!

  6. guesty says:

that can become such a huge stressor in a relationship…

  7. brin says:

    @marjalane….lol, good one!

  8. Jackie says:

I really feel for her. I’ve been trying for 5 years. It does take a toll on your relationship and the “trying” part of it ceases to be fun anymore after a while. We’re saving up for IVF now. They should consider seeing a fertility specialist if they’ve been at it for a year. I’m not a great big fan of the Kardashians, but I sympathize with anyone struggling to get pregnant. Best wishes to them.

  9. Johnny Depp's Girl says:

I like them regardless of the makeout pic. I hope they do have a baby, but everything happens in the time in which it is supposed to happen. Not a moment before.

They should relax, enjoy each other and the magic will come. Guaranteed.

  10. Embee says:

I am so uncomfortable hearing about people’s fertility issues, but it’s good for those who are struggling “in secret” that she speaks out.

Agree on the cousin thing. My daughter’s 6 years younger than her closest cousin and that stinks.

  11. Ferguson. says:

    LOL @ Marjalane !

  12. Kate says:

I’m sorry, but you all really think this is a real marriage? Do you think Spencer and Heidi have a real marriage? Do you think they want a baby for anything other than a prop? Please. That anyone would consider wasting sympathy on alleged fertility issues with these two is really sad.

  13. Team Bethenny says:

The fact that these 2 can’t get pregnant is just proof that there is a god. Thankfully.

  14. a says:

khloe always looks like elvis to me…

  15. TG says:

@Anaya – I agree with you, they have only been in a relationship for 13 months and you can tell from watching the show this past year that she is still in the very early stages of the newness of a relationship and that she is very insecure about him loving her and her looking good for him, etc. You need to have all of that down before starting a family. They need to be completely comfortable and have that trust with each other before embarking on a new family. How sad.

  16. cantbelievethis says:

He should be a parent to his 2-3 kids first before adding on more.

Aren’t there stories about how they are apart all the time? He’s off playing ball and she’s shooting her crappy tv show? So how have they been trying for a year? And when does he see his other kids?

  17. Taurus says:

If they really have been tryin for a year and nothin happened, then one of them, most likely Khloe is infertile. I wish them luck, but in the meanwhile, enjoy the honeymoon phase! Maybe it will happen when they aren’t putting so much focus on it.

  18. lena says:

@ cantbelieve… He actually is a father to his other two children…his third died from SIDS I believe. I’ve seen plently of pictures of him with his other children on black gossip sites, and I’m almost certain the mother of his children stated this in an interview…so fall back some on assuming he isn’t caring for his kids.

  19. bellaluna says:

I feel for any couple struggling with infertility/complications conceiving. From what I’ve experienced, it is devastating to a relationship, no matter the duration.

Khloe has always been my favourite as well, and I wish her the best.

  20. Amanda says:

I don’t think anyone, at the age of 25 (ish?) and married for only ONE year needs to go see a fertility specialist. Sorry, just don’t.

There are people out there that are in there thirties or forties who have been trying to conceive for multiple years, so I’m not really crying for Khloe.

  21. margie says:

It took us 14 months after I quit using birth control. One of the best things to use is a lubricant called PreSeed. Sperm friendly pH, it is as close to cervical mucus as you can get. This is almost TMI, but if others are reading this and are looking for a little help, this product is awesome. Sometimes it just takes a while for your body to kick into gear after taking birth control for an extended time, so I hope Khloe and Lamar just relax and don’t freak out for a few more months. It isn’t like she is of advanced maternal age or anything, although I know that when you are trying it seems like getting pregnant is rocket science and a near impossibility. I wish them the best!

  22. RHONYC says:

this is because on a molecular level embreyos flat out refuse to form & become apart of that whole circus called ‘kardashian’!

    good for you embreyos!!!

    🙂

  23. jen says:

@a -#14 OMG she does kinda look like Elvis! Not the good Elvis but the Vegas, peanut butter banana sandwich eatin’ Elvis!

  24. PrettyTarheel says:

I’m sorry to hear that fertility issues make people uncomfortable. With the statistics that surround difficulties conceiving and maintaining, it’s a little difficult to understand why it’s an uncomfortable issue?
25% of pregnancies end in miscarriage-unbelievable-until it happens to you. Then you become a part of a secret sorority-and EVERYONE knows someone who went through the same thing. Fertility issues are so common, but they still carry a Middle Ages stigma, especially for women. (Henry VIII, anyone?) I understand the decision to keep your struggle private, but if she’s willing to speak out, every advocate is needed. Not everyone who struggles is older or unhealthy.
    Good luck Khloe!

  25. Wicked SteppMom says:

#20 Amanda: Really? You don’t think people in 20’s are entitled to have fertility problems? I was 26 when we were referred to the fertility specialist-and we’d been married for just over a year at that point (though we’d been together longer.) I was ALREADY in perimenopause & had we not started our fertility treatments at that point, I DEFINITELY would not have my children, since we went through multiple treatments over several years & at 34, I’m nearing complete menopause. Try looking up some actual information next time-any decent website will tell you that if you’ve been trying for a year w/ no success, go to the doctor…if you’re older, or have other issues, don’t wait a year.

  26. Kevin says:

Aint gonna happen in da butt Sasquatch, I don’t care what Lamar is tellin you.

  27. Benny says:

She became my favorite Kardashian (although that’s not saying much) when she responded to pregnancy rumors by saying “I’m not pregnant, I’m just fat.” At least she has a sense of humor.

  28. Benny says:

I forgot to add – if she is being open about fetility problems, then I give her more credit than those superstar phonies who lie and pretend they are superwomen who can naturally have children at 43 at the drop of a hat. No, their eggs never get old, they defy the odds and nature because they’re just that much better than other women. At least some people, like Celine Dion and a few others, are honest about it.

  29. Peaches says:

Personally, I adore the Kardashians, they remind me a lot of my sisters and I (minus the sex tapes, celebrity status, big bank accounts, etc…) but just the way they act w.one another. I don’t think that Khloe would fake something to be honest- I know it’s TV and all, but honestly, she’s so real about things and doesn’t sugar coat. She hates Scott, she makes it known, and doesn’t BS liking him (and even when she had to for his bday episode she was clearly faking it). When her and Kourt were shooting their Miami show, she up and left and was MIA in a lot of episodes cause she was sick of being away from her husband. She didn’t stay in Miami to get more airtime, instead Kim flew in. She seems the most genuine and doesn’t take herself so seriously. I love that she is so blunt sometimes! I don’t think the “image” matters nearly as much to Khloe as it does to Kim and even Kourtney, so I really don’t think she would marry a guy after a month of knowing him cause the E! Network asked them to, or pitched them an idea. I adore Khloe though, she is my favorite of the Kardashians. She’s more relatable.

  30. Violette says:

Klohe stop drinking it kills fertility

  31. McMe says:

@Margie: OMG I used PreSeed too and it worked the first month after trying for almost a year! Then, I told my girlfriend who had been trying to be pregnant for 15 years (yes 15) and she got pregnant after two months.
They really should advertise. I came across the website while searching for fertility help online.

  32. la_chica says:

she should really lay off the booze and 8-balls if she wants to get pregnant
