Canadian singer and Lilith Fair founder Sarah McLachlan is 40 and has two children, India Ann Sushil Sood, 6, and Taja Summer Sood, 11 months. McLachlan has been married to the drummer in her band, Ashwin Sood, for 10 years. She was photographed looking super fit in a bikini in Hawaii yesterday. The woman has no stomach, her arms are tight, and she looks awesome.
But consider what TMZ had to say yesterday about how she looked in her black bikini. This was titled: “Sarah McLachlan: Lilith Not-So Fair”

Do you think the writers for The Daily Mail are doing remote work for TMZ or does the misogynist meme just infect a lot of the people who gossip online? We’re guilty of it too - I feel bad for calling celebrities pregnant when they’re not, particularly skinny Kate Hudson. I don’t see anything pudgy or particularly giggly about McLachlan though and she should be proud of her body. I wish I looked like that! McLachlan reminds me that I need to hit the damn gym.

She looks crazy toned. I tried that bikini on .. im a lot smaller than her but i couldn’t pull off those bikini bottoms they looked TERRIBLE on me.

I saw that on TMZ. It pissed me off honestly. I think she looks amazing. Most 40 year old Moms I run into don;t look like that at the beach. Just sayin. Also, I have never known Sarah to be any sort of “fitness” model or advocate, so why is she held to such a high standard? Apparently for TMZ, if you are a famous WOMAN in ANY arena you must be thin and perfect at all times or else. I think someone needs to post pics of Harvey, he’s not such a toned skinny gal anymore!

Screwed up. This industry has everyone thinking that if you’re not a size 0 with a 6-pack, a gravity-defying ass and thighs that don’t touch ANYWHERE, then you must be fat. Sarah looks beautiful for any age and status, not just a 40-year-old mom.

The media, etc. are WAYY too hard on celebrities. I like how she looks amazing, and STILL realistic, you know?
I want to know what all the columnists in various magazines look like, for all their criticism of bodies like McLachlan’s and other “fat” stars, like Catherine Zeta-Jones. Right?

Always love seeing Sarah here. She doesn’t take herself seriously, she enjoys her children, and she’s a phenomenal artist. And, after having 2 kids, being her age, she sure knows how to rock that body without looking Heidi-ish.

Pudgy thighs?? She looks fabulous. She isn’t a supermodel, she a singer. Is there a celebrity rule book somewhere that says unless you’re 100 lbs and have fake boobs you can’t wear a swimsuit?

If my wife still looks like that at 40, I’ll be a very happy man. What the hell has the world come to when that is considered pudgy? Considering her second kid is less than a year old, and how hard it is to bounce back from pregnancy at that age - she looks fucking fantastic.

Her thighs are NOT pudgy! They look to me to be muscular…just because they aren’t twigs doesn’t mean they aren’t toned and strong (not that it really matters). To be 40, PLUS just having a baby 11 months ago?? She looks amazing and the dude (most likely) who wrote those comments at TMZ is probably getting himself botox, lipo, etc., etc. It’s people like that who judge harshly who most often are particularly insecure themselves and seeking perfection. He also has a wife or girlfriend who resembles the typical “Orange County” woman with fake blonde weaves, breasts, and whatever other medical enhancements money can buy.

I’m with you guys. pudgy my ass! She looks DAMN good, ESPECIALLY considering she had a baby not even a year ago! I highly doubt I’d be looking that good, in that short a time after having a kid at that age. go Sarah! I Really like that bikini, too.
