Miley Cyrus’s new music video: panties, legs, writhing and general sketchiness

xandros_openening_27_wenn3039981

Here are new photos of Miley Cyrus at a restaurant opening last night in Beverly Hills. I don’t hate this outfit. Is the dress too short? Of course. But she’s still remarkably covered up (for her). And I don’t mind this velvet Stevie Nicks-inspiration stuff either. I’d rather her look bohemian and witchy as opposed to booty shorts and belly shirts. The hair/extensions could use some help though. And she looks baked. Which is probably how you should arrive to a restaurant opening.

Anyway, Miley has a new single! And a new video. The song is called “Who Owns My Heart” and there seems to be a lot of writhing on beds. Be careful… this is SFW, but it is twenty kinds of wrong.

I could only make it a minute and a half before I started to feel sick to my stomach. First reaction: Oh, Jesus. Big Southern hair, skimpy little panties and all that makeup? She’s still just 17 years old, by the way. Second reaction: That fishnet-hair thing is funny. She actually makes it look kind of cute! Her little “I’m so horny” faces are ridic, though. Third reaction: Legs and grinding in the back of a limo. Jesus. This girl. I just want to shake her and yell at her: “Don’t be eager to grow up this fast! You still have plenty of time for this bullsh-t!!” WTF is wrong with Tish and The Mullet?!?

    she is 17?? Crazy

  2. Po says:

Her parents lost control of her about 2 agents, 3 managers, and 20 million dollars ago. She now just pretty much does whatever she wants.

  3. cantbelievethis says:

This video is so very wrong.

If some man was found with pics like this of a 17 yo he’d be charged with child porn. But Miley just puts it out there willingly. Tells me that she doesn’t have talent, the only way for her to get attention is to act slutty.

  4. Johnny Depp's Girl says:

This girl has gotten under my skin. I really cannot stand her and my son, who is 10, thank goodness doesnt like her either.

She’s too young to be pulling all this. She started as a child performer. That was her target audience. Doesnt she know that if she grows WITH that audience, she will remain famous? Too fast and that audience will be cut off from her.

    I just dont like her.

  5. Oi says:

She looks like a kid. Ok, granted, she is a kid, but its just creepy because she has the face of a 13 year old wearing waaay too much makeup. If I didn’t know she was doing this all herself I’d think it was exploitation.

  6. Praise St. Angie! says:

    inappropriate!!!

  7. Super Sleuth says:

Exploitation of a child at its finest.

  8. michael says:

where does she find these hideous outfits?!? bitch needs to get herself a damn stylist STAT! song sucks. she sucks.

  9. mimi says:

Thank you Madonna. She paved the way for all these slutty singers. I like what Dave Grohl said..”why don’t they just go on the Playboy channel”.

  10. heatheradair says:

so, up until now I’ve sort of been in the “leave the dumb girl alone, she’s just rich enough to do what I probably would have wanted to do at her age, and with good enough legs to pull it off…..” camp. but, um, 17 year-old KIDS probably shouldn’t be in a grinding sandwich in a club with their racks hanging out. I don’t really take issue with the makeup, she’s at that age when too much is not enough and she’ll figure that part out eventually…

But what gets me at this point is that I can’t decide what’s more detrimental to the image of women in the media right now – hyper-sexualized kids sending the message that it’s never too early to hump on strangers in clubs OR the whole “Sister Wives” phenomenon that marginalizes the idea of a marital partnership to the point that women are OKAY sharing themselves with that many other women….

either way, it ain’t lookin good for the ladies……

  11. kelbear says:

She dances and moves like she is having a seizure.

  12. ugh says:

I bet she and her agents will be bummed when she turns 18 shortly and is a legal adult, then they won’t have that underage lolita angle to hawk to the pervs anymore that oh so predictably gets her ‘talked about’ in the press. It will be a sad day in Miley-land. Right now, instead of talking about how horribly bad that song is, the focus will be on her being underage and making a slutty video. It’s how she gets press. She reminds me of Jennifer Aniston, who masks her mediocrity with the elephant that is Brangelina (that’s the only reason why people give a sh*t re Aniston to this day, they want to see her get a life and compete w/ Brad) while with Cyrus, her elephant is being underaged. Both of them have little to nothing to offer talent-wise though. I feel bad for the kids who followed her on disney and their parents though – I mean really, what do you do, when your 12 yr old comes to you and asks if she can be ‘slutty Miley,’ for Halloween? Do they have lacey blind folds and half-booty shorts, for children?

  13. Roxanne75 says:

Wow people will do anything for money…shame shame. Kaiser I agree–there is plenty of time for this BS later in life..stay young, innocent (altho it looks like its too late for that) b/c when you get older you can’t go back.

  14. dorothy says:

Gee..I wonder when she goes to rehab will she have the room next to Lindsays?

  15. Melissa says:

I can NOT stand this girl!! In what world is that nasaly, 40 year old smoker voice a good thing?!?!

  16. alejandro says:

Faux controversy to make her relevant and to help her transition into an adult artist. She’s not sexy, dangerous, or edgy. She’s gangly, awkward, and boring. Sorry Kiddo.

  17. Cat B says:

Now loading “the bus to oblivion” 1st in line Miley, 2nd Jenn Anniston, 3rd The Bieb, 4th Perez Hilton, 5th Jon & Kate, and Lohan can drive. Get in line any losers not on the list, we can make this a weekly trip!

  18. alejandro says:

    @ Ugh

Ding ding ding! Completely right on comment. Her team is very desperate and it shows.

  19. Janeth says:

She’s harmless! Let’s not be all high and mighty and call her trashy or skanky because most of your daughters/nieces/cousins/etc…….. do the same thing. Let her be she will learn. And don’t say if my daughter did that I would blah blah blah because 9 times outta 10 you can’t do much.

  20. Pogogal says:

Future Lindsay!!!that’s all there is say.

  21. BohemianPrincesse says:

I’m not sure if she has the right “look” to pull off this sex kitten thing, if you catch my drift…

  22. leZombi says:

You only made it a minute and a half? Then you must have missed the Lady Gaga-esque shoulder pads and girl on girl grinding. Oh Miley.

  23. Marjalane says:

Who is her traget audience? I have a teen and a pre-teen, and neither can stand her, and no Janeth, not all sisters, daughters, cousins, etc. are just like Miley; some of them actually have enough brains and self esteem to bypass the slut stage.

  24. OtherChris says:

Her voice is terrible. That song sounds like something they play at my gym, and believe me, they have a rule where they ONLY play crap.

  25. lucy2 says:

I only made it 30 seconds. The way these 2 parents allow their children to be portrayed is disgusting.
Maybe parents can’t control their kids 24/7, especially teenage girls, but when it comes to professional work that is mass marketed to the entire world…yeah, you CAN control that. Any decent parent would be present on set, take one look at this and say NO – she’s 17. In a year she can do whatever she wants, but not now.

  26. serena says:

    1) she’s way too blonde, I don’t like her blonde.
    2) wtf of a video..she wants to become the next rihanna or what?
    3) She was country, and it feel right, now that dance bullshit is only hilarious.

  27. minnie says:

    @janeth

ummm, NO. not all teen girls act that way. and NO its not harmless. i know 8 year old girls who love hannah montana… they are not going to suddenly “forget” their idol miley, they will want to follow in her footsteps to the next “hot thing”. and if you have any control over your kids BEFORE their teen years, you can bet your ass that you can and will stop behavior like this right when it starts. its called mutual respect and consequences. not enough parents try it.

  28. kristin says:

She keeps trying to pull a Britney circa Slave 4 U, but the truth is, she’s just not that attractive or sexy, and she most certainly doesn’t have the moves. She still looks like a round-faced little kid and it doesn’t mesh with what she’s trying to do here.

  29. Wicked SteppMom says:

#12 kelbear: I have epilepsy & take offense to your comment…I look WAY cooler when I’m having a seizure than she does dancing/moving. 😉

  30. ugh says:

Janeth, the first time she was caught sexting a few years back, at like 13 or 14, I thought the same thing…’oh she’s living her life in the media, give her a break,’ — except I later realized, when it kept happening repeatedly, and she followed that with the 15 yr old sex kitten routine on Vanity Fair that she blamed on Annie Leibowitz, that this IS what she’s selling. To kids who follow her. That’s one reason to NOT give her, or anyone that helps in her attempt to hawk her underaged hypersexuality, a break. The reality is she’s a commodity owned by a conglomerate that is being sold to your kids, and they’re pushing this ‘image,’ as much as Miley herself is. I don’t blame Cyrus for kids in the rest of the country being arrested for distributing child p rn because, just like Miley, they may have wanted to send their boyfriends a little somethin’ somethin’, but let’s just say she doesn’t help. One thing she is not, is harmless – whether you like it or not, she is an influence. For those weirdos bringing up Madonna, when she first started out, she was covered head to toe in leggings and material – yeah she wore her bras on the outside, or let them show – but that was the extent of her provocativeness in the beginning – not to mention the fact she was 25 years old when she first came on the scene. That’s a lot diff than Cyrus mewling at the camera at 14 a couple years ago. It was painfully obvious even then, her precociousness would lead to a lot more awful computer generated music and ‘talk’ about her underaged sexuality that she’s trying to sell. Like I said, where do you go from here, when your edginess and interest is determined by you being not legal. At least sexless Taylor Swift who’s older by a few years, does have that card to play still (slutty/sexy), since she never played it before — Cyrus, is all played out and she’s not even and adult. That’s the part that’s kind of revolting. But again, her parents are idiots – and the apple don’t fall far from the tree. She lucked out like a lot of disney kids have, and her approaching obsoleteness has made her and her ‘team’ get desperate, and play the sex card.

  31. jr says:

hey mimi…don’t blame Madonna…she was a grown WOMAN taking control and owning it, not a youngster acting up all willy nilly for attention…big difference!

  32. PsychicEyes says:

Sadly, corporate pedophelia knows no boundaries and if sex sells than they will exploit it.

I cringe to think that the 10-year old will be exploited in the same manner. I lay the blame squarely at the shitty and asinine parents.

  33. Lynda says:

Yeah, I saw the girl-on=girl action going on in there…very nice. Makes it fashionable to get confused about one’s gender identity; makes it kinds fun and groovy. She truly does have a voice like a kazoo. (sorry, can’t get that phrase out of my head, it’s just so dam funny).

  34. mary jane says:

My daughters have grown up with Miley and they despise her to no end. They’ve been tearing her apart for several years now because of her mixed messages….. I am so proud 🙂

  35. mimi says:

    jr,

    re: Madonna

“she was a grown WOMAN taking control and owning it”

    omg, she was a SLUT.

  36. Katija says:

    @jr

I completely agree. When someone like Madonna or J-Lo does a video like this, it’s like, eh. They’re grown women. They know the difference between fantasy and reality.

  37. Jover says:

Why is this crap song be referred to as new; it is on the Can’t be tamed cd released 6/21/2010. Its been out for 5 months – obviously these songs are being released as singles to stretch out Panface Kazoo’s relevancy as long as possible. Notice, she has much less of a presence in Wal-Mart as they know her use by date is approaching.Marjalane I spend time around young people and I don’t know any that would even consider listening to her – her audience must be her family, label, and pervs. WHat gets me is she goes on late nite talk shows and they treat her like she’s the next Diana Ross, Selena, Aretha – does everyone in the entertainment business spend half their time practicing and blowing smoke up each other’s butts? It’s not like there’s a great demand to have this bozo inflicted on the public. Embarressing and painful to watch.

  38. SammyHammy says:

“Let’s not be all high and mighty and call her trashy or skanky because most of your aughters/nieces/cousins/etc…….. do the same thing.”

Well, maybe YOUR female relatives are trashy and skanky, but I can assure you mine are not. Heck, my nieces actually have the bodies to pull this kind of thing off (20 & 24), but they are so modest they won’t even wear bikinis-only one-piece suits. They would rather die than embarrass themselves in public like that.

  39. sickofit says:

what happened to her face? she looks puffy and empty in the eyes? the song simply sucks, the voice is horrific and she really should take acting lessons…

  40. Angel says:

eh. she’s JUST dancing; she’s 17, nearly 18 and getting into the club scene and that is reflected in her song/video here. She’s asking a simple question too, appropriate for her life atm; does she want to be more invested in romance or her art. Whatever, not sure what the big deal is, here. Sometimes I think my gen might end up being more uptight than our parents! Oy….

  41. dre says:

Im 50 years old, and I like her. Shes a kid. She can act and sing and her clothes and makeup are fine.
And I dont need to hear, “I must be a bad mother” cause thats not the case, my children are educated and doing fine. Most people I know think Miley is fine. We dont get in an uproar over how people look or dress – we accept them for them. We do not judge. There seems to be an abundance of judging on this site. So I have to ask myself, “Are these people serious or are the just jealous”? I cant understand why people talk crap, I mean, she hasnt done anything, she hasnt been proven to be a drunk, a druggie or a whore, but you all call her that? Maybe someday she will be that, who knows, but until then, let her have her life without the mean, vulgar things you say about her. If you dont like her music, dont listen cause there are plenty of us out here do do like her music. She is human, and she will make mistakes. You have made mistakes and so have your children. But for Miley, hers is out in the open, she cant hide it like you can.

  42. Tia C says:

I have been a solid Miley anti-fan for awhile, but I actually finally have something positive to say about her – I love love love that jacket! It is too cool. I covet it. But I still think she’s a moon-faced, chipmunk-toothed white trash bimbette.

Can’t comment on the video since they have all forms of video blocked at my un-fun job… 🙁 I’ll check it out later.

  43. Silver says:

Wow, her “acting” in this music video is beyond terrible. I found myself laughing throughout the whole thing.

  44. justachica says:

so seizures are now considered dancing? only in Miley world. and miley, you’ve never had an orgasm so stop trying to fake one…its not working for ya.

  45. Janeth says:

You guys are extremely delusional or just plain naive. I’m not saying all girls but easily 80% of girls in this country are just like Miley. I’m 23, I should know. If you guys could see the type of shi* my friends get into you would be shocked or not even because you guys probably did it to. Be honest here and remember how you guys were at 15/16/17.

I don’t even like her music but grow up people # 39 do you know what your nieces do at night?????? And idk if my cousins are skanks but if they are that’s their problem they were raised right but that doesn’t mean they aren’t human and do shi* to fit in or to experiment. I don’t judge people because I am not perfect. Obviously you and your nieces are, so I apologize to you.

  46. sapphire says:

at 17, even hyped, PRed and papped kids do not have a frinking clue who they are. BUT the marketing reserch has doubtlessly told her about the backlash. So being young and stupid is self correcting; being a jerk is not.

  47. Ycnan says:

I feel sorry for her. She is a kid, who is growing up too fast and exposed to way too much. What 17 yr old could handle that??

Add in the fact that everyone with a computer calls her ugly, stupid, annoying, her hormones, lots of money and plenty of people trying to use her ever which way they can. How can it possibly go right?

Hopefully she is able to get through this period of her life (which I think is kind of normal but on a much grander scale) without too much damage. Only time will tell.

  48. SoulLovah says:

i have to agree with Janeth and her comment #46…I was 17 3 years ago and I remember a lot, not all but a LOT of girls wanting to do things that they were probably too young to do: wanting to go to clubs, wearing sexy club clothes (to school!), joking around about sex and girl-on-girl stuff…and as a senior in high school I remember the girls got progressively more suggestive as you went down the grades…they just don’t know any better. They still have that fantasy of being independent and being like the pretty party animals they see on TV…which Miley isn’t helping…but my point is, I PROMISE you that 17 is no longer as innocent as an age as some older people think…that’s just the sad reality.

I firmly believe that it all comes down to how you were raised…I’ve been exposed to all kinds of crap that probably should have resulted in me being a slutty, trashy, foul-mouthed, sometimes straight/sometimes a lesbian/sometimes bisexual bratty party animal but because my parents raised me to know what’s right and what’s just plain stupid, I can decipher the difference and watch people like Miley without thinking that’s who I need to be…

  49. venusenvy3704 says:

    um britney?

  50. texasmom says:

Her stylist should never, ever, ever, let her wear shoulder pads of any kind. See Alice the Goon for reference.

  51. erin says:

she’s too homely to pull off trying to be a new britney. she should have gone the more quirky indie image route.

  52. mollination says:

Eeesh….I get really embarassed for her when she does that jerky-hand thing. She doesn’t know how to do it and it just ends up looking like she watched too many of the greats that came before her before practicing in a mirror for a few minutes. Awkward, awkward, awkward….. also, she’s can’t really dance very well either. Painful. Not shocking (I mean – I already did that “oh shocking! she’s 17 and sexual” song and dance 12 years ago with britney.

  53. Sara says:

She just needs to turn 18! Then the sexy image and underage drinking won’t bother me so much.

Anyway I think she’s trying to be the next Britney Spears. I remember lots of early Brit videos where she seemed to be showing lots of skin.

  54. gee_gee says:

It shouldn’t be necesssary to “announce” or demonstrate that you are sexy. You either are or you aren’t.

  55. alejandro says:

The problem isn’t that she’s selling sex, the problem is no one wants to buy what she’s selling.

  56. PsychicEyes says:

I would not be at all surprised (I am expecting it) to hear media stories in the New Year of out of control drinking (Jack Daniels comes to mine).

When I look at her pics I see a child that has been forced to grow up much too soon. It’s just sickening to see somehow she’s been groomed into a sexual object. Yup, if sex sells than exploit it.

Parents are suppose to love, nurture and guide their precious children and not whore them out to the highest bidder. Unbelievably sad.

  57. cookie says:

except for all the men whose sexual preferences are for teenage girls or children

  58. Ligeia says:

don’t see whats so horrible about it. theres far far worse pictures of 14 year olds on myspace and facebook lol.

  59. jemshoes says:

Confession: the write-up of the video was enough to put me off watching the video! Another Disney star running headlong down the same beaten track.

  60. Judy says:

She’s not even attractive–she reminds me of an animal, but I can’t quite put my finger on it–chipmunk? I can’t stand to listen to her talk, let alone sing.

  61. mary jane says:

@janeth Calm down. You can relate to Miley. We get it. And it’s OK.

  62. Sally says:

I dislike her and her schtick.. but I think her outfit in the top pic is cute!

    Edit: asides from the necklace.

  63. DetRiotgirl says:

I think the most tragic thing about all of this is that, even when she’s all tarted up, Miley is simply not sexy. She looks like a little girl, no matter what she does. It’s just the natural look of her face! That’s why this video is so disturbing, and why everyone mocks her so much. She just isn’t sexy enough to pull this look off. However, if she had the face that Britney did at 17, I think the reception would be very different. Hannah Montana or not, if she was actually sexy I think that people would have accepted this. I almost find that concept sadder than I find Miley’s all too familiar behavior.

  64. Wiley says:

Janeth: Obviously you were part of the slut crowd and don’t know that most teens weren’t doing what you were doing. Most teens would be mortified if their privates were revealed to others and they certainly don’t act and dress the way Miley does. I don’t know where you live but I’m glad I raised my children in a decent environment. By the way, everyone in school knows who the sluts are and once a slut, always a slut. You just don’t have any standards to compare your relatives to because you still think everyone was doing those “normal” things that you and your friends were doing. They weren’t, and your classmates will never, never forget. That’s what’s known as a “reputation”.

  65. Gwendolyn says:

…In other words, white thrash chic.

Slutty Cyrus needs some serious intervention!

  66. Chessie says:

Another 17 year old discovers sex and thinks she invented it. Ho hum.
