I’m not writing this to hate on Rumer Willis, I’m really not. Do I think she’s pretty? Not really. Do I think she’s a talented actress? Not really. But I accept that she probably is a nice person, and that she has more to offer the world than her acting skillz or her modeling potential. That being said, she keeps putting herself out there, and she’s an adult.
CB and I were discussing The Problem With Rumer yesterday, and we were debating whether Rumer had gotten something done to her face, plastic-surgery-wise. At first, I thought it was just a simple nose job and some gradual weight loss over the years that thinned out her face and revealed her cheekbones. But as I’m looking through Rumer’s photos through the years, I’m wondering if CB’s claim that Rumer has gotten much more done is perhaps true. There seems to be a more “sculpted” quality to Rumer’s face the past few years. It seems like she’s trying to take some measures to counteract her natural oblong-shaped head and make it seem longer and more chiseled. Add to this my personal belief that Demi Moore, Rumer’s mother, has one of the best plastic surgeons on call at a moment’s notice, and my suspicions grow by the day. What’s the verdict?

I don’t think she is photogenic. She unfortunately has the bottom half of her father’s face, but that doesn’t mean that she is the same in real life.
There are many people who look horrid in photographs and look better in reality.
All I know is that I’d rather look at Rumer Willis’ face than Kim Kardashian’s oddly shaped bare ass (it’s not even womanly…it’s bloated! if there is such a thing as a bloated ass!)
The girl hasn’t had any. Rumor looks exactly the same of course the hair is different but she looks the same. I seriously DOUBT she has had any work done. Not everyone in Hollywood gets work done. Besides the girl has been in movies since she was 15 I think, Bruce cast her in something he did. The girl looks the same.
Wow! I really never found her as ugly as everyone goes off about. I get that she has 2 beautiful parents and everyone was waiting for a golden child, but she’s not an ogre! I also think she hasn’t had that much, if any, surgery. It’s seems to me she has a very good make up artist creating cheek bones, ect.
She is a really homely girl, but I do appreciate that she doesn’t seem to think so- she always looks quite pleased with herself. And yes, def cheek and chin restructuring.

Rumer has always had a really great complexion and great coloring. But she lacked knowing how to wear makeup to its full advantage.

I don’t see any plastic surgery. If anything, her chin looks more defined now and her face longer – maybe because she has lost some baby fat?
What I am wondering: Why are homely girls automatically considered “nice persons”?
She must be under a lot of pressure being Demi’s daughter. That being said, if it were me and my mother looked like that and I looked like Rumer with Rumer’s acting skills, I would definitely pick a different career path. But that’s just me.

I don’t think she’s had any-now she looks older and slimmer, and with a different hair cut. I don’t think surgery could fix her main “issue”-her dad’s chin-but I’m guessing that she’s prettier in person, and has a lot of confidence in who she is.

I’ve always said this like I’m defending her (maybe I am just a lil, poor girl) but Lainey did report one time that Rumer looks a LOT better in person. She just doesn’t photograph well. And you get a sense of that in the close-ups I think. Individually her features are pretty – I love her eyes, and her lil pinched up nose. Downright cute, to be honest. Put together on a canvas that’s her face doesn’t exactly give you a Monet (a Picasso, maybe) but it’s art nonetheless, and she’s FAR from ugly.
And no, I don’t think she’s had surgery. She just grew up. Maturity has a way of sculpting the face.
No surgery, just weight loss and different hair styles and better makeup. If anything, I’d think she’d get a chin reduction even if it would be immediately obvious unlike her mom’s surgeries.
Love Angelina you live in your own little world don’t you? If you don’t like someone you really hate them and if you like someone they can do no wrong and no amount of evidence could convince you.
I don’t think she’s had anything done. She has brought up in the past that she hats her jaw and I think that if she were to do anything, it’d be shaving that thing down. Why get a nose job when a smaller nose would just make you notice that jaw more? I think it’s a combination of make up and weight loss.

Wikipedia says she’s 22? So in that first picture from 2005 she’s still only 17 – probably still growing. I can look at pictures of myself from the last five years and if I posted them here, probably a bunch of people would say I’d had work done, but it’s just differences in weight distribution, differet haircuts, different makeup, different lighting even. My nose is a different shape depending on how broadly I smile! And I guarantee if anyone here took a random pic of themselves aged 17 and put it next to themselves at 22, they’d notice some differences.
I’m not trying to defend Rumer here – I don’t care about her in the slightest; she can have someone work on her with a plastic picnic spoon for all I care – but it does astonish me how quick people are to cry surgery, when faced with photographs years apart and taken from different angles.

Her styling in that blue dress is killer. The chin is unfortunate, but she’s certainly not a troll. She still has very pretty characteristics.
I’m in the “grew up and thinned out with good make-up” crew. I think she looks very striking and I imagine that in person she is probably really interesting looking in a GOOD way. On film, not so much. Given that, I think she is making bad career choices! She should do something where being charismatic in person is really valuable, like sales or fundraising.
I think she is pretty. I also think she looks even prettier in interviews/movies than she does in pictures.

I don’t think Rumer looks like she’s had any surgery at all; she’s just older and leaner. I don’t think basic cosmetic surgery can do much for Rumer because the problem is that, in addition to being really long, the two sides of her face don’t match, and while neither side is ugly they are shaped completely differently and it just makes for a really odd look.

Give the poor girl a break. She isn’t the most beautiful girl I have ever seen, but she is far from ugly. I would much rather see somebody look like that than the Heidi Montag, Barbi Doll bimbos of the world. At least she has some character!
I do not think she has had surgery. That being said, a chin reduction and a nose job to cure those flaring horse nostrils would definitely help.

Liana pretty much has the final word on this, IMO. Anyone who has seen her up close in a working relationship and can’t see any sign for plastic surgery is probably right.
Wait, you’re telling me with those old photos that she actually used to be MORE ATTRACTIVE than she currently is? I mean, that’s not saying a lot, but in that old photo she was actually kinda prettier with a bit of weight on her face. It helped make her chin look not quite so…chinny.

It’s simply weight loss, change of hairstyle and make up. She’s exactly the same. And only a big surgery can remove that jaw, and it really is still there.

Yeah, I don’t see any evidence of surgery there. I’d say she’s got a bad mix of both parents genetics. It goes without saying that two attractive people breeding does not result in an attractive child.
She has had some stuff done; her nose & cheeks and face sculpting – but not to much where she looks plastic. I think her work is mild and looks good.
Who is her and Demi’s surgeon because he/she is very good at more natural versus “scary Heidi plastic” looking surgery. Demi looks pretty natural for all the stuff she has had done. Hats off to their surgeon.

You’re not helping your case by putting pictures of her next to each other where she looks exactly the same. If she’s had plastic surgery, then it’s the least noticeable plastic surgery I’ve ever seen, and on that end, a big waste of money. You get surgery to look different or better right? The only things thats different between 05 and 2010 is the fullness of her face, which all young women lose as they get older. Look at Angelina Jolie in Gia and her now in her most recent movie Salt. Her face was a lot fuller when she was younger. That’s just how you age. Your face loses fat.

I think she’s beautiful. and i don’t see where she’s had any surgery, i think she just went from little girl to young adult and everyone’s face matures and changes a little. that’s all i see here. i really don’t know why everyone thinks she’s so ugly, i’d kill for that girls skin and she’s got great bone structure even if she has a wider jawline.

I don’t think she had anything done, not because she doesn’t want to but because she can’t, if you take a good look at her very unfortunate looking face, you will ralize that her problems cannot really be fixed, her eyes are too small and closed together, can’t move them apart, her chin is huge, I don’t think they can shave it down, her nostrils are too narrow etc etc

i don’t think she’s had any – she just grew into a more womanly look. my face thinned out into a more sculpted appearance in my mid twenties – all the baby fat gone. added to that was the mositurisers, complexion powders, ‘sculpting’ blushes, eye shape- altering eye make-up, lip pencils, lipstick – and i look like a completely different person…
i don’t know… she’s not conventionally beautiful, or anything, but I find her face attractive. she’ll have no trouble attracting mates!

I do like your blog very much, but sometimes it’s bad articles like this one that make me think that if it isn’t for evil stories like this one, young and vulnerable people wouldn’t feel the pressure to go under the knife or do other reckless things. I don’t know why but I find her very cute. She looks beautiful in all those pictures you posted up there. Sure she has an oblong face but that’s her only flaw and she’s still beautiful. Now I can’t comment on her acting because I haven’t seen her in anything, but she is by no means an ugly girl. I also don’t see any difference in her features other than a little weight loss.

Honestly, if she’d HAD work done, she would definitely be more “conventionally” pretty … celebrities don’t get plastic surgery to look ordinary, they do it to look good in front of a camera – “good” as defined by Hollywood. If you cover the left side of her face with your hand (your left, her right) you will see her pretty Demi side. Now cover the right side and you will see her ugly Bruce side. Amazing eh!

At least 3-4 years ago Rumour was quoted as saying “being a celebrity is a full time job.” With that attitude I think it’s safe to say she takes her appearance very seriously. Keeping that in mind I would guess she has had some plastic surgery and will continue. The jaw problem might be a multiple surgery procedure.
I hope she didn’t do that to her nose. If anything it should be widened, not narrowed.

There is nothing different about her face except that it has less baby fat. Six years is a long time in the life of someone so young…of course her face thinned out. Her body did, too. Nothing fake or plastic about one’s face becoming that of an adult rather than a teen.
I suspect Rumer is a cutie-pie in real life, but just doesn’t photograph well due to her jaw line being so strong compared with her other facial features. Making a jaw smaller is a major surgery involving cutting and resetting bone (and potentially removing teeth), with the associated risks and recovery time one might expect, so good for her for not doing it. To me she looks just like she always has, only a little older. Not sure why she’s going into showbiz, though – surely her rich parents can set her up doing something she’s better suited to?

Maybe Rumer should take Chaz Bono’s lead as she’s most definitely not a pretty girl but might make a cute guy, even though Chaz was or isn’t either. Just because someone has good genes doesn’t mean they’ll be immaculate looking. That being said there are quite a few celebs kids that aren’t so gifted as their parents (i.e. Liza Minnelli, Bobbi Kristina Brown, the late Jett Travolta), no offense intended.
