’m starting to think that Lily Allen may just be a high functioning alcoholic. Instead of taking responsibility for the copious amounts of alcohol she drank at the Glamour Awards on Tuesday night, Allen is hypothesizing that her drinks were actually spiked.
Last night Lily was overheard chatting to Janet Street-Porter outside The Royal Academy of Arts 24th Summer Exhibition Preview Party in Piccadilly, suggesting her condition may not have had anything to do with the prodigious amount of alcohol she consumed.
The 23-year-old said: ‘Yeah, I don’t know what happened, maybe I was spiked. I don’t remember a thing. I can normally get really drunk, but not like that.’
Lily’s night at the Glamour awards took a turn for the worse after a brief spell in the toilets left her incapable of standing up straight. Earlier she had been spotted taking full advantage of the free bar - drinking champagne, gin, vodka and Asahi beer. After a trip to the bathroom, security staff carried her outside, passing her over a fence and putting her in a cab.
Last night she said: ‘The worrying thing was that I was like a dead weight. I have been out so many times and got drunk and never ended up like that.

May I step in and suggest that it was perhaps not the result of a spiking, but more likely the result of the champagne, gin, vodka, AND beer. I realize there is of course a chance her drinks were spiked, but considering her long and well documented history of overindulging, it’s more likely that Allen just drank herself under the table.
Though she officially took responsibility for her drunkenness with a blog entry on her MySpace page clearly Lily Allen doesn’t think she has an actual problem. She makes light of her behavior, making it sound like one of those random, rare, stupid things we all do. Considering how often she supposedly ends up trashed – combined with making excuses like her drinks were spiked – it makes you worry that Lily has a much more serious problem that she needs to work on.

I wonder if she happened to mention that particular theory to Janet SP? Janet would have slapped her into next week.
Lily’s a drunk and needs to stop before she turns into Amy without the talent.

Wow, someone has zero sence of responsibility! I can drink alot too but that combo would have me assed out on the floor for a long long time.
I was with a girl who had her drink spiked & it was awful. MAYBE it happened to Lily, but I’m not really buying it

Thing is, bodhi, with Lily, it would be so difficult to tell the difference. No joking with spiked drinks but, normal drunk or spiked drunk, she’s always drunk. Off her face drunk.

It says that she was overheard talking to someone, right? Maybe she was being sarcastic. I’ve been that drunk once, coincidentally, I think was 23 also.

I chauk it up to being young and dumb, so what she got drunk and had to be carried to her car. That’s happened to a lot of 23 year olds.
She’s living her life–leave her be!

I gotta say- i think she has much more talent then Amy does.
Bodhi, i think it might be the other way around- the miscarriage caused the drinking. (i know she drank before, but lately it seems shes really gone over board…Depression perhaps?)

Hollz - agree on the miscarriage possibly causing her to go ott, not the other way round. Don’t agree on the talent tho’ although I probably was a bit unfair earlier. She does have a really nice voice. Just needs to get a grip.

I’m pretty sure she thinks her drinks were “spiked” with drugs. Someone may have laced them with “E”, “K”, or something else…This would explain being a total “deadweight”…

I’ve been spiked before and i had only had one shot of vodka that night. I completely lost my ability to walk, i threw up uncontrollably, i felt cold and was shaking, and i have (to this day, 5 years later) no recollection of anything that happened. I went to the hospital in an ambulance and do not even remember any of that. It’s a very disturbing and crazy feeling that cannot at ALL be mistaken with being even the most drunk i have ever been.

She was probably (voluntarily) coked out of her skull before she downed her first drink. Nothing like the layering effect to knock you on your ass for the night.

Where her drinks spiked when she dyed her hair? Looks awful on her, especially with the lack of eyebrows and lashes.

She seems to be going downhill, put on a lot of weight too. Hopefully, she can get back on track to a more normal life sans drugs and booze.

Who is Lily Allen? Is she famous there? You Brits are too much, the way you love a chubby adolescent girl. No wonder we declared our own country.

Seeing her before and after the miscarriage, I can only thank god that she did not have that baby. She’s not ready to be a decent mother yet.

Mixing all that crap together KILLS. I learned that shit around her age too. After that, tried not to mix all the booze and beer together. Plus if she smoked some weed she’d end up with the spins and eventually end up dead weight by the end of the night. TRUST!
