Jessica Alba has a baby girl (update with baby’s name)

Jessica Alba, 26, and her new husband Cash Warren, 28, had their first child this weekend, a daughter that was born at Cedars Sinai hospital, according to US Weekly. Jessica’s rep would not comment on the supposed arrival, although an earlier report from a tipster to Celebrity Baby Blog had Jessica entering the same hospital in labor on Friday with Cash, carrying birthing balls. (Which are just those big exercise balls and are supposed to help get you into position to open the pelvis for an upright birth and may ease labor pains.)

US reports that Jessica’s father was seen in the maternity ward and was overheard saying “she’s beautiful,” while Cash was spotted bringing in food on Saturday.

If this is true, congratulations to Alba and Warren! I bet we’ll learn the name of the little one soon, and Alba is the type to sit for a magazine spread, so in a month or two there may be lovely photos. She seems like she’ll be a great mom.

Jessica Alba and Cash Warren are shown at his surprise birthday party on 3/22/08, thanks to WENN.

Update: Alba’s rep has confirmed the news! She had a baby girl, named Honor Marie Warren on June 7 in LA. Congratulations!

  9. I’d never really had an opinion on her (besides Dark Angel as a guilty pleasure), but the IBeatYou video that was posted here a while ago was cute, and I liked that she agreed to be in that video. I also read a recent interview with her in Marie Claire (?) that was very interesting. So now I’m more favorably disposed towards her. I can also relate to her comments about growing up poor and not being ashamed about being in it to make money so she doesn’t have to be poor again.

Congrats to her & the baby!

  15. Jessica Alba seemed to have a bright yet realistic opinion regarding her pregnancy and mother-to-be status.
I don’t believe she decided to start a family because babies are a cute accessory (ah, Paris, hear hear)…

I’m happy that her delivery went well and that her baby girl is healthy.
Honor Marie is a beautiful name with a classic feel to it (although it has that unusual twist to it).
    Congratulations to Cash & Jessica!

  17. Interesting, yeah….but there are so many mouths to feed as it is in this world. Asia limits to 2 kids -max- very smart. Anyway, Congrats! Jessica, hurry and recover so we can see that “hot bod” (ha) of yours and see those stretch marks baby! Hey ladies, I’m probably one of the many guys out there that DOESN’T and WOULDN’T touch and screw that broad! I’m not gay or a pu$$y, to me it’s the inner beauty that outweighs, by far. Ho-nor -gosh.

  21. Alba quote from the People.com article:
“I don’t want to be my child’s best friend. I want to be a mom,” she said. “But I do want my child to come to me when they have problems and need to talk, so it’s going to be about treading that line.”

I think that’s awesome and admirable. Congratulations to them!

  22. It’s too bad that Africa doesn’t limit itself to 2 kids per family. I wonder why they don’t seem to care about all their own mouths to feed. The average there is 6 kids to a family, when there is a family.
