Suri Cruise will always be under-dressed, no matter what

suri_cruise_01_wenn5559527

These are new photos of Suri Cruise on the LA set of Jack & Jill with her mom, Katie Holmes. Katie and Suri seem to be staying in LA while Tom is in Europe, filming Mission: Impossible 4 with his boys. ZOMG SPLIT?!? Eh. I think that after however many years together (five?), Tom and Katie are at the point where they’re just letting each other live their own lives. I don’t think Katie gives a sh-t anymore. And Tom… well, I think Tom just has other priorities. Anyway, back to Suri. Her hair is getting so long! And I think her little jumper is adorable, and I LOVE that she’s wearing little sneakers with the laces pulled out. Kanye is gonna steal this look.

However – everyone is saying that it’s kind of chilly in LA right now, and Suri should have more clothes on, et cetera. But they always say that about her. She hates coats. And her parents always have to carry a blanket around so that they can cover her up with something. At this point, Suri is so consistently under-dressed, I think that she’s just one of those people who “runs hot” as we say in the South. My mom is like that – she’s always running a low-grade fever, and she always keeps her house like an ice box. Whatever.

Also, many, many outlets are running a story about how Tom is paying $6000 for Suri’s pretty princess gown for Halloween, complete with jewels. I wrote that story up weeks ago! Copycats.

That child is so damn beautiful. I detest Tom and pity Katie and I love that little girl even though I know she will be raised rotten.

  2. LOVE ANGELINA says:

Suri doesn’t look like she is cold. Although it looks cloudy and cold where she is. Suri looks fine. I would want her to have a jacket or some pants on and when it comes to whether I have a kid who is always sick or letting my kid express themselves I would have to overrule and make them wear warmer clothes but she seems fine. So….

  3. gigi* says:

    they look exactly the same!!!!!!!!omg!!!!!!!!

  4. Raccoon Princess says:

Get the kid a coat. If she doesn’t wear it, she will be cold, but carrying around a blanket as if you are the child’s pack mule. Gees!

  5. Praise St. Angie! says:

man, that is one adorable little girl.

  6. GrnMtGirl says:

My Grandson hates wearing his coat…even when there is snow on the ground he would rather wear a hoodie and beanie than his winter jacket.

  7. Diane says:

    Adorable child.

  8. jen says:

That’s not even a jumper, that’s a nightgown. Seriously, I’m not trying to be facetious. The lace and the little flower (and flimsy material) mean it’s a nightgown. She’s not even wearing clothes!

  9. brin says:

She does look like a little Katie.

  10. Sarah says:

She’s such a cute little girl but she gives me the creeps. Something about her eyes makes me shiver. lol.

  11. Delta Juliet says:

My son is always hot too. I call him my little furnace (and he says it himself lol) However, when it is cold out, he wears his jacket. I am his mother and I make those calls. Of course, he probably takes it off as soon as he gets to school, but when Moms around, he keeps his coat on.

  12. Embee says:

Ha ha. Looks like Suri wouldn’t get dressed this morning and her mum decided, “Fine. Out you go in your pajamas.” And Suri was all “Fine.” But now she sort of regrets it…

Probably too much “photo assumption” but I’m going with it because it makes me laugh.

  13. MarenGermany says:

@sarah always thought that. her eyes could be described as “intelligent” but i go with “creepy”. shes already way too aware of the cameras and she somehow strikes me as …bitchy (i´m sorry to say something horrible as that about a child, but i can literally see in her face what a spoiled little twat she is and it will get worse, trust me!)

  14. Bina says:

She’s just practicing for her future role as a Hollywood starlet… they’re all underdressed and wander around in their lingerie, nightgowns, underwear, etc…. LOL

  15. a says:

i can’t believe she’s walking on the ground. she looks much happier than when she’s bring carried!

  16. Marjalane says:

I thought it was a nightgown too! and I’m sure it’s *only* because she has such bizarre parents, but I think she has an off look- kind of smug and mean, maybe?

  17. Stronzilla says:

Who needs a coat when you have a Mercedes S 500 standing by? Besides, she’s wearing a band-aid. They always both look happier when its just them.

  18. kelBear says:

    What a beautiful child!

  19. mln says:

Well if she isn’t cold and doesn’t get sick then whatevs…I think she is a beauty.

  20. Heavenbound says:

I just took my kid to school. It’s raining and she refused to wear a sweater. It is not cold it’s just cloudy here. Maybe thats the case in that picture. She is a very cute girl.

  21. Fire says:

Ouch, MarenGermany, do you really need to call a little girl a “tw*t”? Really?!? I’m sure she’s spoiled, but is it her fault? Maybe I’m having a sensitive Thursday or something, but “tw*t” is a little excessive for a 4 year old. It would KILL me if someone called one of my sons a little dick. Reserve that word for….I dunno….Lindsay or maybe Taylor whatsherface from Gossip Girl – girls who are old enough to know better.

BTW – I think this is the most normal I’ve ever seen her. Bandaid and all.

  22. marge says:

hey, she can walk! and run!
    who knew…

  23. girl says:

She doesn’t look like she is cold. No goose bumps. She isn’t hugging her harms and rubbing them for warmth from what I can see. I have a kid like that. Plus, it’s LA. They do man-on-the-street news reports when the weather “plummets” below 60. After having lived in colder climates, when I’ve visited SoCal in the winter, it isn’t cold to me either.

  24. elzzy says:

I think she looks like a brat and i can give you a great idea, tomkat, instead of spending $6000 on a halloween costume why dont you buy her a haircut and a comb and teach her how to use it!

  25. Tredd says:

This little girl looks more and more like her parents every day. You know – Katie and L. Ron Hubbard? Seriously – check it out. Easy to find old photos on line of him.

  26. Obvious says:

I think she’s always carried in public because of the paps. here they are on set so she’s running free. It’s has been freezing and pouring rain off an on in LA, she should have a few more clothes on but, i’m sure there is somewhere she can go inside if she’s cold.

  27. TaylorB says:

Kids are strange about the cold they just don’t seem to notice it as much, we take my neices/nephew to the lake the water temps are so cold I stick a toe in the water and damn near faint but those kids will jump in and swim about until they turn blue.

  28. baum says:

she gives me the creeps. I’ve said it before but when I see her I can only think of The Omen

  29. Christina says:

As another person who “runs hot,” I completely understand. I had a little jumper something like that growing up that I would wear until Thanksgiving. I still don’t even bother pulling out coats until it snows.

She’s so pretty; it’s nice to see her looking like an actual little kid – band aid on the knee, strange outfit and all.

  30. mommyesq says:

It’s raining in L.A., but it’s not “cold.” So, she’s probably fine….but seriously? They can’t talk her into adding some tights or something? My 4 yr old wants to wear sundresses (well, one sundress in particular) so I convince her to wear it over warmer clothes (mainly so I don’t get the side-eye from her teachers…). I mean, come on–there have to be boundaries SOMEWHERE, right?!

  31. e-non says:

at least this takes care of the rumors that the kid is still in diapers…

  32. Tammy says:

The high temperature in LA yesterday was 70.
I live in Texas and we were in shorts and t-shirts yesterday. Come on down the weather is fine!

  33. original kate says:

maybe katie is carrying a little cardigan for suri? but yeah, kiddo always seems to be dressed inappropriately for the weather.

  34. Jazz says:

She wears what she wants because they let her. She’s a mini adult in a child’s body remember.

  35. dit says:

    Gosh, Suri is SO beautiful.

  36. Jackson says:

Yeah, my husband is the same way. I have to convince him every year that it’s time to put his big boy pants on once there’s frost on the ground.

Is Suri’s hair lighter? Looks like it to me. It looks sooo long now too. Maybe I just never noticed it before. And Katie – yaaay Katie!!! You are looking more and more human these last few days! Keep it up girrrllll!!! I know you are still under there somewhere.

  37. belle Epoch says:

Lots of debate about whether it is hot or cold in these pictures of Suri wearing a nightie, but the fact is that Katie is carrying a blanket. That means:
    a) it’s cold enough that even Katie realizes it and
    b) the kid doesn’t wear a sweater / hoodie / jacket / but has to have a BLANKET, and the mother feeds this behavior.
If she just went to school like normal kids would she have a personal blanket holder following her around?

  38. Maritza says:

Suri is a “Minnie Me” of her mom. I don’t like what she is wearing at all, it looks like she just rolled out of bed and kept on walking. Katie does look more relaxed when she is alone with her daughter.

  39. Bodhi says:

Damn, her hair is LONG! I hope she isn’t tender-headed like I was. My mom had to really work to get the tangles out of my hair & it was torture for both of us. I don’t know why she waited so long to let me have it cut off!

As for her clothes… That looks a lot like a nightie to me, but she is covered & maybe Kat(i)e just got her up from a nap? Who knows…

  40. Kazoo81 says:

hahahahaha @ the omen. she reminds me of the movie too!

why is she so aware of the cameras?

and i’m sorry to speak this way about a child, but she looks like the biggest brat. and what tom & katie have said about her in interviews pretty much confirms it. i hope her nannies are well paid.

  41. Johnny Depp's Girl says:

Xenu told her to wear that.

  42. Crash2GO2 says:

Although rainy, it’s actually about 70 degrees.

  43. kimm says:

Wow, people she is a little girl – what’s with all the hating, she is adorable and I bet she is a sweetheart!!! My son and my husband “run hot” I live in New England and they only wear a coat/jacket in Jan/Feb the coldest months of the year and even then they take them off because they are “Hot”. Geez save the hating for someone that you actually know that you hate!!!!

  44. Wicked SteppMom says:

For as much as I can’t stand the whole Tom/Katie/Suri “family” at this point, I’ll also say that my husband & both of my kids “run hot” with their normal body temps being right around 99.5-99.9, which is really fun since my normal body temp is right around 97.5…it means that I tend to wear sweatshirts in the summer & they don’t want to wear them, ever.

  45. gabie says:

Suri is the photo copy of her mother…

  46. Persistent Cat says:

Good Lord, that’s a beautiful child.

And of course she’s aware of the cameras, they are ALWAYS there. She probably thinks it’s like that for everybody.

  47. Catherine says:

She is a darling kid who dresses like every other child their age who is allowed to pic out their own clothes.

  48. cantbelievethis says:

I have a 4 yo and its all about picking your battles. I’ve taken mine to the store in her princess dress. I’m not going to fight with her over wearing a jacket, etc. Instead I’ve concentrated on more important (to me) battles like behaving in public. She may not wear a jacket when we go out but at least she’s well behaved.

Also most carseat advocates say not to put a jacket wearing kid in a harness carseat. Instead you are supposed to take the jacket off or bring a blanket to put over the top of them after they are buckled in.

  49. Enzo says:

The second photo is super adorable. Cindy Crawfords daughter – here is your future modeling rival

  50. Kazoo81 says:

no, she’s POSING for them. constantly.

i bet kim kardashian has pictures of her like this as a kid.

fame whore starts young for some.

  51. Camille says:

I had never found Suri to be as good looking as people claimed her to be, but I think she is starting to ‘grow into her looks’ as it were and I am definitely seeing more of Katie in her now. She is becoming a very pretty little girl.

  52. eleni says:

she’s adorable and extremely cute. she is a kid, she runs and plays all the time, she doesnt seem she is cold.

  53. rheba says:

I don’t want to pick on anyone’s kid but… she runs the gamut of looking like someone’s Barbie to one of the orphans from “Annie”.

  54. Mimi says:

    She’s adorable!!!

  55. TeeTee says:

Lord, Katie you’ve aged sooo fast due the shenanigans of Tom and Suri, poor thing!

  56. Cheyenne says:

She is a beautiful child. But something about her seems “off” to me. I am getting a feeling from her that she doesn’t have a clue as to how to relate to other children. But it’s quite possible that she hasn’t had sufficient opportunities to play with other kids.

  57. Diva says:

I can’t wear a coat unless it’s literally freezing outside, either. I wear tank tops and light material shirts all year round, so I’m too concerened that Suri isn’t wearing a coat in LA right now.

But didn’t we just freak out, like a week ago, that Noah Cyrus or someone was wearing a dress that short???? There’s only a, what, 4 year age difference? I realize the push-up bra thing was over the line with Cyrus, but the pictures of her in a short dress like this came out a couple days before that and everyone went all spuzzfucky over that!

    PS, Suri is gorgeous.

  58. Diva says:

Oh, clarification: That was supposed to be NOT too concerned that she’s not wearing a coat in LA right now…

  59. Mouring the Death of Music says:

Jesus Christ. WHY are you running a story about this child? I just don’t get it. Just because she’s the offspring of that nut-job Tom Cruise, doesn’t make her little life news worthy.

  60. kimberly says:

Wow the Cruise family are such kiss asses to the public.

Everyone says they want to see that little girl looking “normal” and here we have it in the gossip mags right before the parent’s movies start rolling out . . .

    PRBS

  61. Ligeia says:

yikes it’s like 60 degrees in la and all rainy and gross. how is she not cold?

  62. jdao says:

She is one cutie patootie! 🙂

  63. Cheyenne says:

@tredd: I can take Tom Cruise or leave him, preferably the latter. But unless you have proof that Suri is not his biological child, that is a bitch-ass thing to say.

  64. unkown caller lol says:

It’s 52 in MI & people wear coats. When mid 60’s. People wear t-shirt and jeans. In 70’s t-shirts and shorts. I am always cold but I think it is funny. When it’s 70 or higher and people are wearing coats. Wait until the weather is below 0. People couldn’t make it. When people wear light coats or heavy coats in the 60’s -70’s weather!

  65. Candy says:

Child is cute but I’m guessing a real tantrum type, holy terror. I do believe I see horns sprouting from her head, just in time for halloween! I love to see children like this giving their parent’s hell.

  66. Confuzzle says:

It’s becoming more and more apparent that Tommy didn’t contribute to that genepool.

  67. Mermaid Girl says:

….hair extensions – no one’s hair grows that fast! (just kidding, or am i???). Sarah hit it – those eyes are soul less. just sayin’ – not hatin’

  68. Anti-icon says:

HA. I know lots of kids like her…..and it is really not worth the fight to try to corral them into bulky coats or sweaters, cause, ya know, ya can’t move your arms, dudes.

  69. Shazza says:

Umm..Kaiser? You know Run-DMC was rocking the sneakers with no shoelaces look back in the 80’s, right?

  70. Kate says:

She definetly is growing into her looks; a very pretty child.

    But LE SIGH…

Seriously? She “won’t” wear a coat?

I don’t know, but I’m pretty sure she’s like 4/5 years old, and therefore I am certain she’s not a championship kickboxer. I think her parents could take her.

I find this particular element in our culture, of the parents who acquiesce to their child’s demands, rather pathetic.

People, your children will not hate you for setting boundaries. They will not hate you for being the boss of the house. Believe it or not, they respect that authority; they WANT you to be the boss. It makes them feel safe and secure and contented in the knowledge that there is someone who knows more than them and who is in charge of their world. They may fight you tooth and nail, but they actually crave that structure. And they will be better people as a result of said structure.

You should not be intimidated by anyone, least of all a child. I can’t respect any parent who lets their child run the house, and this little beauty certainly does.

Grow a backbone, Katie and Tom.

  71. LBees says:

Hellooo she’s totally Tom’s beard, so at this point they don’t care about staying together.

  72. gg says:

It’s a nightgown and it’s way too short to be wearing outside in public as clothes.

  73. Diva says:

I think it’s more and more obvious as she gets older that Tom did, in FACT, contribute to that gene pool… funny how different of us see different things!

Also, my niece is 5 and her hair is that long, her friends hair is past her rear! It happens.

  74. audrey says:

My mother still jokes about the grief she got from my inability to feel cold as a child. When I was little (preschool-middle school), I was simply never cold! I would STRESS OUT if someone put a coat on me (grew up in Los Angeles), regardless of the (not extreme) temperature. And my poor mother had other kids’ parents telling her she was just the worst for not looking out for my health. Her response? “Go touch her and tell me if she’s cold.” Apparently, I was always perfectly warm and that would shush all but the most annoying parents. So I totally get the coat thing, and am relatively sure Suri will survive :/

  75. cruiz2 says:

The kid is innocent…just living the life she knows captured by paps! Who can make comments if you’ve never met her? Parents are different – pushing PR thing.

  76. Cel says:

Suri is cute – she’s got Katie’s original nose!

  77. crazydaisy says:

that band-aid is killing me. adorable overload!

  78. nj says:

First of all, it was hot in New York last weekend. My 8 yr old son is still in shorts on some days, so are his friends. And that’s the East Coast.
Second of all, if the girl isn’t shivering, she’s not cold. My kids and so many others are the same way. The 8 yr old would be running barefoot and shirtless if he had his way. Even the 19 month old kicks off blankets and sweats in her sleep. I have never seen her cold.

  79. jennifer says:

Newsflash… you don’t get a cold from being cold, you get sick from germs.

  80. omg girl says:

Too short and too thin material. Its like she’s trying to seduce w her outfit. She needs more clothes and she needs to look like a 4 yr old

  81. 2Cool4School says:

she looks like she just woke up..Suri is well cared for and well loved..if you want to worry about some celebrity kids worry about the spears boys; she scares me.

  82. justcallmecloudysinceIcan'tthinkofabettername says:

even if she is under dressed, hey at least she’s not in high heels that she could easily trip in, a $1,000,000 dress, and lipstick like she normally seems to be. 🙂 but yeah she doesn’t have goose bumps or appear to be cold in the pics so even if it was colder out, she was probably fine. maybe she’s just one of those that gets hotter easily. or maybe Tom and Katie had to drag her out in her pajamas for whatever reason because it does look like it could be a night gown. but kind of ironic that she now refuses to wear coats when there’s a story on the web talking about how Suri threw a major tempter tantrum when she was 3 because her mom wouldn’t buy this expensive fur coat for her lol.

  83. lalah says:

I don’t think she’s refusing to wear a coat because of the “running hot” thing, more like because she knows she can because her parents go through the trouble of always having a blanket ready. just get the child a coat and if she refuses to wear it then tough shit she gets cold. I’m sure she’ll learn to wear it soon enough when she realizes it’s either that or be cold. I mean just sayin walking around with a blanket everywhere like you’re the child’s personal pack mule is pretty ridiculous. and definitely says who has the pants in the family that Katie is that scared to enforce control over something as little as this. are we talking about a 4/5 year old little girl here or a full grown professional kick boxer?
