Celine Dion gave birth to her twin boys yesterday, Saturday October 23. Celine had been admitted to a Florida hospital early last week to undergo monitoring, with fears that the twins would be born premature. Although Celine claimed she hadn’t planned on getting a C-section (the date for the reported C-section would have been Friday), Celine did end up delivering her babies via C-section a day after the tabloids claimed she would. The babies were born premature, and will have to spend several days (at least) in an incubator. But everyone sounds healthy:
Céline Dion is a mom again – times two! The singer, 42, gave birth to fraternal twin boys on Saturday at St. Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach, Fla., at 11:11 a.m. and 11:12 a.m., her rep tells PEOPLE exclusively.
“Celine, René and their son René-Charles are thrilled,” says her rep.
One of the babies weighed in at 5 lbs., 4 oz., with the other at 5 lbs., 10 oz.
Dion’s doctor, Ronald Ackerman, said at a press conference outside the hospital Friday evening that the delivery, done via C-section, went as expected. He also revealed that the twins were both born with a good amount of hair.
The twins are healthy, says Dion’s rep, but will spend the next few days in an incubator because they were born premature.
“Celine is resting now and they plan to discuss what to name the boys when she wakes up,” the rep adds. “René-Charles has been to the hospital to visit his brothers and is just so excited they are here.”

No names yet! Oh well. We know Celine is going to name them something fancy, like Francois Rene Hubert Vivian Charles SparkleFranco or something like that. And we know the babies will be loved! Congratulations to Celine and Rene, and to big brother Rene-Charles!

Congratulations to the family, but 70 years old is too old to be becoming a parent, I don’t care how much money you have, it just doesn’t seem fair to the kids.

I wish the family well! Don’t know much about preemie health, but when I hear the weight of most babies it’s ~8 lbs, so 5 lbs doesn’t seem TOO dire (again, I’m completely ignorant on the topic, I just hope the babies stay healthy!)

70 is a fine age to be a parent. What’s not fair are these young, big mouthed, know it all chicks squeezing them out right and left. He is a wonderful, stable man who I am sure will out live at least half of these crack-head, acting a fool baby mamas, which by the way, we end up supporting their poor children. my son was 4#3oz, and my daughter was 5#4oz, both are very healthy.
Don’t forget about the big sister! Celine and Renee had a daughter when she was still underage, and family members raised her. It’s a very well-known “secret” in Canada.

I am soooo happy for Celine. Being a strong supporter of her work, and one who is fascinated by the phenomenal powers of her voice, I am glad that she has finally gotten (probably her full quota) of what she always wanted: a family. For me to imagine being in her shoes right now, knowing that she has three children and a loving husband to go home to, is completely impossible to imagine her happiness. I pray that you enjoy a full and wonderful life, and I am sure that just like when she gave birth to Rene-Charles, she just might come up with another song or album to celebrate the lives of her new twins. That weight sounds pretty normal for twins, seems like they’re often a little smaller and arrive earlier.
I find her very annoying, but she does have an amazing voice, I just wish she’d use it to sing better songs. Glad she and the babies are healthy and doing well.

I don’t think her husband is a “turd” for becoming a father again. He is very well aware of his age and mortality. I think he did it because Celine wanted more children so badly, and he wants her to have a family around her after he’s gone. I wish them all much happiness.

The comment about Celine having a baby years ago comes from an antagonist wanting to stir up comments. Such people have little or no life and get their jollies sitting behind a computer screen giggling at the controversy they started. Remember her name “Brittney”. She is to be ignored.
My healthy baby girl weighed in at 6 lbs 1 oz. Her babies are a decent size for sure! They seem like a lovely family and I wish them the best.

Oup’p….. I froget to add that his have two other boys. Ther name is Patrick and Jean-Pierre. So he is the father of 6 childrens.
No matter how long they have been married it still weirds me out that he was a FATHER-FIGURE to her growing up. She wasn’t even a teenager and he was approaching middle age when they began working together. Some girls grow up idolizing and secretly crushing on older men. But the fact that he spent years being a father figure and then one day he could look at her and say “hey, looking good!” grosses me out. That’s just my opinion.
BTW, this is an entertainment site filled with gossip and speculation. It’s crazy how fans take personal offense when someone posts their opinion or something they’ve heard. If Brittney heard that they had a baby years ago while she was underaged, then that’s what she heard. Why are people attacking her personal character and her NAME because she posted a rumor on an entertainment site? She didn’t report it to CNN or write a book about it. Good grief, lighten up! Brittney did not say she heard a rumor, she stated it as fact and the implications are horrible. While Celine and Renee have family photos published with their son, the daughter is somehow hidden away as a disgrace. Having a child while not yet 17 is one thing, but having other family members raise her and keeping her under the bed while the favorite son is let to shine is a terrible thing to say (much less accuse) anyone of doing.
I do not fault you for pointing out that this site is built on rumor but apparently the daughter is his not theirs and some rumors are best confirmed with some fact before they are presented as such. I hope you have a good day.

@Rita…point taken. But we’ll have to agree to disagree. Whether Brittney said “I heard” or “I know for a fact” doesn’t give it any more or less credibility. I feel like Celine Dion could care less about rumors about her having a baby in her teens and allowing said child to be raised by her family. People have been spreading that exact same rumor about Beyonce for years. If you are fan, you just continue to support her and ignore the rumors. But it’s just not our place to be outraged and offended FOR HER.

Love Celine but was looking at her Vegas tickets for March and they start at $150 and up. I can’t believe the prices but would love to see her.
