Y’all know I tend to give Miley Cyrus the benefit of the doubt on some stuff. She’s 17 years old and she’s still figuring it out, in every possible way. She’s figuring out that she really needs to wear a bra, she’s figuring out that she shouldn’t flash her vadge to children while performing, and she’s learning how to put an outfit together. But do we really need this? This is being called Miley’s “Bindi Cowgirl” look. Cutoff shorts (that are WAY too short), cowboy boots and lots of jewelry. And a bindi – that thing on her forehead. It’s an Indian thing (other countries do it too, but I associate it mostly with India).
Now, is it offensive for Miley to “adopt” the decorative bindi? At this point, in India, it’s about fashion anyway, the bindi having lost its larger, symbolic meaning (about marriage and virginity, etc) a while back. But it’s Miley – the girl who was photographed making “slant eyes” last year. Is this the new Asian-flavored Miley? What’s next? Is she going to cover herself in curry? Will she don a sari hiked up to her cooter?
Honestly, though, it doesn’t offend me on a “That’s Indian, you shouldn’t do that” sort of way. It does kind of offend me style-wise though. Cowboy boots with a bindi? For real? Also: Miley should really try standing up straight. She slouches so much, I now think she’s just pushing out her curry cooch.

I like it. It seems like Miley might be starting to learn about some eastern philosophies and is attempting to encorporate it in her wardrobe?
I don’t think it’s the best fashion choice, but I totally woulda done the same thing at her age.
And to her credit, she seems fairly mature and grounded for 17 years old, especially if you see her dealing with the paps.
Her posture is what’s offensive. Better start taking that calcium girl, or you’ll look like the Hunchback of Notre Dame before you’re old enough to drink!
