Mariah Carey is expecting a boy & she’s due in March, says an “insider”

Well, Mariah Carey still hasn’t really confirmed that she’s carrying a baby, but I think at this point, most of us are in agreement – Mariah is knocked up. How far along she is, and the gender of the baby is still in question. Fortunately, there is a very talkative “insider” who ran to Hollywood Life to dish about babies and due dates. Allegedly, Mariah is expecting a boy, and she’s due in March:

Congrats, Mariah! An insider tells HollyBaby.com that the diva and her husband, Nick Cannon, are expecting a son in March next year and are set to announce their happy news very soon!

Mariah Carey is four months pregnant with her first child — a boy! — a source close to the star tells HollyBaby.com. The Grammy award-winning singer and her husband, Nick Cannon, have been tight-lipped about her pregnancy, but she is expected to make an official announcement in the next couple of weeks when she begins promoting her new holiday album, Merry Christmas II You (which is being released on Nov. 2).

“She’s having a boy, but the reason that Mariah didn’t want to say anything is because she is 40, and she’s superstitious,” the insider says. “But she’s going to appear on Oprah and The View, so she’s planning on making the announcement soon.”

The insider says that the couple are over the moon about their impending arrival but “they haven’t decided whether they’ll raise the baby in New York or Los Angeles.” They are currently living in Nick’s LA home while renovations are being done on the former Bel Air home of Farrah Fawcett that Mariah bought last year for $7 million. The 11,750 square feet home has five bedrooms — plenty of room for a nursery and a giant closet for Mariah!

Mariah took fertility drugs to get pregnant, according to the insider, who says, “the fertility drugs were the reason for her weight gain earlier this year.” She has also given up drinking alcohol — “she stopped drinking back in March or April this year,” the source says.

While we would have loved to see the Hello Kitty wardrobe that Mariah’s daughter would wear, we’re excited that she’s expecting a little boy — and can’t wait to see her little lamb! Congrats, Mariah and Nick!

[From Hollywood Life]

Okay, I’m chuckling a little bit. Because everyone was talking about A) Mariah’s weight gain and B) How she showed up drunk to several events during the awards season. Of course, the awards season was over in the beginning of March… so it’s possible that Mariah was living it up and drinking champagne at all of those events as her last baby-less hurrah. Totally possible. And I do buy that Mariah gained weight because of fertility treatments – and I have no judgement about it either. I just hope Mariah and the baby are healthy and happy. Congratulations Mariah! I hope you announce it on Oprah, just because that would be so much fun! Oprah will FREAK OUT.

congrats! glad it’s a boy. couldnt take another mariah-mini me. she’s the diva of all divas.

  3. CandyKay says:

I love her and Nick. After all those bad relationships – Tommy Mottola, Luis Miguel, Eminem – she found someone who adores her and whom she seems to adore right back. I’d be heartbroken if they ever break up.

  4. Johnny Depp's Girl says:

I am so happy for them both.. and boys are always close to their mamas…

  5. bored says:

    She’s just fat.

  6. Marjalane says:

It seems odd that with all the trouble she’s had conceiving, and her age, that she’d be still performing. (and cramming her booty into those hideous costumes) Anyway, I hope she enjoys being a mother- she seems like the type who might have a hard time putting someone else first…just saying.

  7. LeManda says:

Awww I’m sad, in the nicest way possible, that she’s having a boy. I was looking forward to over the top baby girl clothing. Who’s willing to take bets with me that at some point she puts a girls outfit on that little boy? 🙂
Regardless, congratulations Cannon Family. Best Wishes

don’t be so negative it could actually be true. congrats to her and Nick if it is I bet their son will be adorable. though a little girl would’ve been nice as well. on stage she’s a diva but while backstage with fans she’s one of the sweetest people on earth I know having met her after her Charmbracelet concert in 2003 and having gotten three autographs and a hug. having a child at or around 40 is nothing new in hollywood Sophia Loren had her youngest son at 38 in 1973 Genna Davis had her twin sons at 48 in 2004 it’s also typical even if your not a celebrity to wait until after the three month mark of a pregnancy to announce it because thats when the risk of miscarriage is significantly lower and Mariah has supposedly had one previously so you can’t blame her for being skittish to announce the new pregnancy because after a loss it’s harder for the expectant parents and especially the mother to be to get attached to the new child their expecting because they feel as if he/she is a replacement for the one they lost and one never replaces the other

    @bored – Ha!

  10. Embee says:

I’m delighted for her. She obviously has a huge heart and will provide so much love to her child. I’m so happy to see this lovely lady and talented artist complete her family.

  11. mln says:

I think she is prego but I doubt Bonnie Fuller knows any inside info. I wish Mariah the best though

  12. Moore says:

That’s so rude. If you know she wants to wait to announce her own news, why do it ahead of time? That’s just pathetic. I really hope she gets to at least announce or do something her own way if she is in fact expecting.

    #12 Moore:
I completely agree w/you. As someone who experienced a very traumatic pregnancy loss (in which I nearly lost my life as well) and then went through multiple fertility treatments before conceiving my daughter, Hubs & I had a very specific point in the pregnancy at which we wanted to announce it to people beyond the closest family. But NO-my “Pay attention to MEEEE” mother felt the need to tell everyone she’d ever met within a day of us finding out…most of whom were in town for my older brother’s wedding reception.

  14. jc126 says:

I hope it’s true, but I remain surprised that she still performs. I’d have thought she’d be laying VERY low for a while.

  15. Jeri says:

JLo got big too & lost it, although she denies using fertility drugs, I think she did.

  16. Moore says:

    Wow, Wicked.

First, so sorry to hear about your loss and I’m glad you’re still here. Second, I wish you would have been able to share as you’d have liked. My family was nearly the same for me. By the time I was comfortable enough to talk about being pregnant (fert treatment after reproductive issues), some people already knew. I barely had time to get over nerves and issues.

I imagine those nerves so much more so with you and your situation. Sorry! It’s just not anyone else’s right to tell.

  17. Catherine says:

    Wow, those thighs are huge.

  18. birdgherl says:

She’s never struck me as anything more than completely off the rails, selfish and lacking a clear anchor to reality.

  19. jemshoes says:

Co-sign with #3 CandyKay – Nick and Mariah are so sweet together and this is one celebrity relationship I hope will go the distance. Mariah just seems so happy these days! Congratulations to her and Nick. 🙂

  20. lullaby7 says:

come on guys give her a break,it is not easy for a celebrety to get true love and then get pregnant.she took a step of being a mom so we should encourage her.let us just wish her the best as a mom to be and a good wife okay.

  21. donna says:
