Even though I’m a huge fan of Julianne Moore and her soon-to-be 50 years of excellence, I will admit that Julianne doesn’t always have the best style. You can tell that Julianne doesn’t really care deep down about working a red carpet or being a stylish bitch. She seems to just wear what people tell her to wear, for better or for worse. So… last night, Julianne Moore attended the London premiere of The Kids Are All Right. She wore this Fugness That Destroys Souls to the red carpet. I don’t even have words to describe this mess.
How would you even think for one moment that this Lanvin tragedy looks good? Or is that the point? Maybe Julianne is part of some dare, or some wager to see who can wear the ugliest dress? But who is she competing with?
You know what I thought when I first saw the photos? I thought Julianne was wearing a coat, but only halfway, like it was the new style. Then I saw that cheap looking belt. Then I saw that it was all one piece. Lanvin needs to go back to the drawing board.

Hey, it’s Halloween!

The dress would be super cute sans the long sleeved billowy mess and Kmart belt. Her shoes are cute…and her makeup is good. I was on the fence about the makeup at first (too white/washed out?), but given the disaster that she’s wearing, I’m cutting some slack.

She is a great woman and an amazing actress. But she don’t know how to dress.

Oh, quite hideous. Looks like she draped a trash bag over her shouder and cinched it in with the belt.

Eeeee! Um. Yeah. No. Love the shoes, though.

The colours of the dress are beautiful, but that’s it. The cut is a mess and the belt is just ugh. Those shoes are awful as well. And what’s going on with her hair? It looks like two different shades of red, one lighter and one darker. I love redheads (and Julianne is certainly a stunning one) but something went weird here.

It’s horrible… ugh

Just because it’s Lanvin doesn’t mean it isn’t ugly cause it is. Hope it was on a dare….that’s the only way it makes any sense.

Yuk!

Wow. That’s really awful.

I’m more offended by the fact that she needs to cut off about four inches of her ratty looking ends! It looks terrible. Really an ugly dress.

No way – super fug and please get your hair trimmed.

I don’t get it. Is this a new style? Half on half off with a belt to keep it together? Julianne can wear a paper bag and still look good, but I don’t know, fire the stylist?

I love her eye makeup here – she so often looks washed out in the eye department. And I LOVE the shoes. And the color of the dress on her.

na the colors just dont match, but maybe thats just the flashing lights and the camera. i looks funny at least, plus it gave her attention.

I like it! I think she’s beautiful and looks good in anything. The dress is different. It looks like she’s wearing half a trench coat and half a dress.

YUCK! Her hair needs a trim and some hot oil.

Bad dress, makeup is not good, and I think she needs to get her ends trimmed up.

Never mind the dress…that woman needs a trim, pronto.

Just awful. I was in Venice a month ago and they have two HUGE posters of her plastered across the Palazzo Ducale to hide the construction. There’s something freakish about her face when it’s three stories tall.

I LOVE it. Really.

The shoes are hot. The dress is a fucking ugly hot mess.

Love Julianne, but I vote hideous.

Again with the hot oil – No, do not use that hydrochloric acid VO-5 hot oil treatment, it will strip your color!
Use L’Anza leave-in conditioner always and trim your hair instead.

She is beautiful but I am really disappointed in her. I thought she had more brains then to wear whatever someone tells you is ‘the’ thing to wear.
It just highlights again how RIDICULOUS Hollywood is. That dress is so ridiculous and she willingly wore it?? WTF.

nope, don’t like it. i am more bothered by the one puffy sleeve situation than by the two-tone color.

Totally agree. Hideous dress (if you can call it that?).

That dress had potential at some point, but then somewhere it went horribly wrong. And Julianne lost a bet and had to wear it.
Look at that smile though. Total babe.

Julianne Moore’s a talented actress and a beautiful woman but this is taking fugness to new levels or depths. Kasier of course put it much more cleverly, The Fugness that Destroys Souls indeed.
And what the eff is happening with her hair? It looks like it’s just been blow dried after a bath. I refuse to comment on the hideousness of the shoes. Except to say that I will not comment, on the shoes.

As much as I adore this woman, this is not her best look. Oh dear. I do like her makeup though.

She couldn’t decide which dress to wear so she…didn’t.

Heinous.
I don’t usually care for Lanvin, actually, but this is especially bad.

Lover her, hate the outfit. HATE the outfit. She wears some weird stuff. But Julianne is awesome.

Mmm I don’t get it. Did they run out of fabric?

I think she looks georgeous but only because she is Julianne Moore. The dress does nothing for me although I don’t exactly hate it.

I love the colors and the bag, but otherwise I think it’s a disaster. Those shoes aren’t bad but they really don’t go with that dress and especially not that drapey thing hanging over her shoulder. I can’t think of anything that drapey thing really goes with, though. Whatever, that hem needs something strappy.
