Kanye West still has ego problems

I’m really beginning to dislike Kanye West, he might be talented, but he’s also an arrogant diva. From rants on his blog reacting to good reviews (they weren’t good enough), to getting on stage at the MTV awards and declaring that he should have won an award, because his video cost a million dollars.

Now, he’s kicked two fans out of his concert for throwing things on stage, which admittedly isn’t cool, and had them removed from his Glow in the Dark show.

Word to the wise - don’t throw shit at a Kanye West concert. A couple of stunned concert-goers were called out by West after they threw something on the stage. Embarrassment ensued as lights were shone on them and they were escorted away as the crowd jeered them. Awkward!

The eviction occurred at West’s Glow in the Dark concert in Minneapolis. The guys who filmed this video should have been also kicked out for their sheer lameness.

What surprises me about this is that it is hugely unprofessional to let something on the stage stop your show like that. Most of the audience wouldn’t even notice the interruption if you hadn’t called attention to it. In the past Kanye has lost it over technical problems on stage, and it just isn’t professional. Most performers are able to work through these things.

I think this sticks out for me after last year at Coachella Neil Finn of Crowded House had his microphone knocked over by a Rage Against the Machine fan, and the band just kept playing. It was completely calm.

Still, despite Kanye’s personality, what I’ve seen of his show looks incredible.

Here’s the video:

Note by Celebitchy: I don’t agree with Helen here and think that Kanye did the right thing by throwing those people out. Sure he may have overreacted, but it’s not acceptable to do that to a performer and people have been hurt by stuff getting thrown on stage in the past.

Kanye West is shown performing with Lil Wayne at the Hot 97 “Summer Jam” in Giants Stadium on 6/1/08, thanks to PRPhotos.

  1. :x I think Kanye, Fitty Pence, Puff Pudding, Akorn and R. Kelly, with their wasteful clownish predilections, ignorance and inflated egos, should be locked in a room together, with an arsenal of medieval weaponry, and do away with each other and donate the zillions to the homeless and hungry. Too many filthy rich Collosal Idiots bopping around in the music biz lately, frankly.

  2. Doesn’t it kind of depend what was thrown on stage?? Bottles, bombs, tables, fine, out they go. Pretentious idiotic cry-baby diva.

  4. He may be a diva, but he’s all over my ipod– brother has some sweet beats. Late Registration is an amazing album, he experiments with different genres and some great melodies–he’s a very talented artist. Besides, divas are nothing new to the music world. I would have stopped the show too, I mean–why not, if someone is going to be a jackass, call ‘em out, maybe they’ll learn something and stop being a jackass.

He does say some really dumb shit though, that is true.

  6. Anyone remember the video a few months ago where Tori Amos gave a lashing to a couple of obnoxious girls? I don’t remember if it was on this site or not…

  7. One thing I want to know is why aren’t these rappers, who make millions of dollars a year, are not pressure to give back to charity rather then spent it on materialistic crap. They need to put their money were their big mouths are and donate some serious cash to the people that really needed.

  8. I’m with Helen and Geronimo. Those were just some geeky teen girls. They clearly weren’t throwing beer bottles. THROWING THINGS IS WHAT YOU DO AT CONCERTS. It could’ve been anything from panties to beach balls to flowers. Judging by the looks of those young girls, I’m guessing panties or some “I HEART YOU KANYE” crap. He was so out of line to toss these girls out. They payed good money to see him. When will these artists realize THEIR FANS ARE THEIR LIFEBLOOD. Without your fans, you’re just a washed up wannabe.

He also ruined the concert for everyone else by stopping it down just for getting annoyed.

  11. Sorry, but aren’t all highly popular/talented/successful singers divas? Doesn’t matter if you are hip-hop or opera, they all have attitudes. I would probably be a bit of a diva myself. Look if they were throwing stuff to injure, I can see his point- If they were throwing panties or the like, well then he needs to take a page out of Tom Jones’ book.

  13. I have no use for any of them. Back in the early days, before it started going mainstream there was a genuine anger and a message to spread. Now it’s damn ridiculous to listen to some of these over payed idiots still talk like they’re stuck in a one room ghetto shack in Harlem. Rap jumped the shark the first time an artist received his paycheck from a white executive anyway.

  15. He had every right to kick them out. Egotistical or not, it is rude and sometimes dangerous to throw things on stage. Are we supposed to feel sympathetic towards the “fans” because they were young girls? NO! True FANS wouldn’t have done something so disruptive. And I’m sure if it had been panties or flowers he wouldn’t have stopped the show. And for once, he didn’t throw a tantrum. He handled it tactfully. I say “Well done, Kanye. They learned a lesson well taught.”

  17. Ive ben at a concert- and someone threw a bottle on stage at the lead singer - he just dropped the mike and walked off. Totally pi**ed the crowed off. Easy way to solve the problem - Dont throw stuff at people when they are performing for you!
