It looks like the gloves are off in Kelsey Grammer’s divorce. Kelsey of course left his wife of 13 years earlier this year to take up with a much younger British flight attendant, who was pregnant at the time. (Kelsey’s girlfriend sadly miscarried the baby.) Kelsey’s estranged wife Camille is one of the castmembers on the new Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. She told the NY Post that it wasn’t her idea to do the show, but that Kelsey talked her into it and she thinks he did it so he could cheat behind her back. Kelsey was in New York at the time working on Broadway.
Kelsey and Camille Grammer’s marriage of 13 years was seemingly intact when Camille signed on to Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, which debuted two weeks ago on Bravo.
Yet this past July, as the show filmed, actor Kelsey, 55, filed for divorce from Camille — and quickly stepped out with new love, 29-year-old flight attendant Katye Walsh. (Walsh sadly miscarried their child in September.)
Camille now charges that her soon-to-be ex lobbied to get her on the Bravo series in order to facilitate an affair with Walsh. Kelsey moved from Malibu to NYC to star in a revival of Broadway show La Cage Aux Folles, still running now.
“Looking back, maybe he wanted to keep me preoccupied in California while he was off having his affair in New York,” the ex Playboy model, who has two young children with the actor, tells the New York Post.
Although Camille talks on the show of stepping out of her Emmy-winning hubby’s shadow, she tells the Post “I really didn’t want to do” Housewives. “I think it was more Kelsey’s agenda. I was very reluctant, because I am a very private person.”
(Sources tell the Post that Camille, not Kelsey, first expressed interest in doing Housewives.)
The split, naturally, will play out on future episodes of the show, and Camille’s still upset with Kelsey.
“I don’t respect what he did to me and my family,” says the new reality star. “I am not happy with the way it went down. When I signed on, I didn’t think I would be going through a divorce in the middle of a reality show.”
Still, she adds: “He was my best friend. I hope when the dust settles we can remain friends.”

I don’t blame this lady for speaking her piece. This is a very mild response to the public way that Kelsey has carried on with his mistress. In a video I saw of Kelsey out with his 29 year-old flight attendant, he seemed to court the paparazzi when they were shopping for engagement rings at Harry Winston. (He acted like he wanted the guy to leave, but it seemed like a photo op to me.)
I watched part of the first episode of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills to learn more about Camille. (It’s on Hulu, and she comes in at 8:40) This lady is a stay at home mom with four live-in nannies for her two children, daughter Mason, 9, and son Jude, 6, born by surrogate. She said “just because someone has nannies doesn’t mean they’re not a good mother and they’re not there for their children. I’m here all the time with my children.” Her house is an insane sprawling mansion on 17 acres of land, which she calls a “small park.” That’s small? Kelsey appears in the first episode and explains “She has taken a back seat to my life. I think it’s time for Camille to get a little attention.” It comes across like he’s at least supportive of her decision to do the show.

Also, I really liked the bitchy British woman, Lisa VanderPump-Todd, and how much she and her husband pamper their little dogs. Kim, Paris Hilton’s aunt, is surprisingly genuine but shy and standoffish. Her sister Kyle is pushy and arrogant but she’s not as bad as some of the other women. This is an interesting show with some real characters.

I think Camille is insane. However I don’t think Kelsey is any saner. I don’t like Camille and I feel bad she was cheated on.
I do think its a lie Kelsey convinced her to do the show, even though surprise he didn’t seem to have any problem being in the show which I was not expecting him to make an appearance on a reality TV show. IDK, maybe Kelsey did convince her to do that show but from watching Camille on the show and hearing some of the things she says I doubt it took a whole lot of convincing for her to do the show.
I do feel kind of bad for her. I always liked Kelsey Grammer, perphaps because he reminds me of my uncle (same sense of humor), but it seems, he is kind of a douchebag. Like he was trying to push his girlfriend in Camille’s face. It certainly puts him in a different light, for me.

These ladies are karazy. I watched part of the first episode also and the whole “living with four live-in nannies for her two children”, is so insane. It’s definitely a different mentality than us little (normal) people. To say the least.
Ugh. I’ve always liked Kelsey, especially during the Cheers days. And he’s had real tragedy in his life. His beloved sister was murdered when he was a child and I believe he witnessed the murder.
But still…no excuse for cheating on his wife and kids.

Regardless of how they live or how “spoiled” she may be, the pain from being cheated on is still the same. It’s heartwrenching. This woman’s life has turned upside down now. She loved her husband and he’s flaunting his new, young girlfriend in her face without cares for her or their children. It’s extremely selfish and disrespectful. I wish her the best, hope she finds happiness. Kelsey will get hit with the karma train some day, along with the little mistress (not referring to the miscarriage, that is a pain I don’t wish on anyone). Kelsey Grammer is a pig for what he did, but being with someone who was probably with him for his name, status and money? I am sure that gets old after a while. But he should have filed for divorce first, then went and screwed whoever he wanted. He did go about things in a horrible way.

I had to laugh when I read the part where she describes herself as a “very private person”. You don’t generally see “very private” people posing in Playboy. That said, I believe her when she says she was coaxed into taking part in the show.

What bugged me was when she was speaking with one of her nannies regarding her son, and if he still was feeling ill, or recovering from his cold. A mother, who sees her children regularly should not have to ask a nanny if her child is better, the mother should know.

she is absurd. she travels with an entourage and her only activity was finding ways to spend his money. she referred to her husband as ‘one of the greatest actors in the world’ at one point too, and i nearly spit my food out. she cant stop congratulating herself and acting super high and mighty on the show, so the fact that he tossed her fake ass tot he side and moved on is not sad to me.

Even if you think Camille is a fake and a gold digger or a crappy mom because she employs 4 nannies for 2 kids, it’s not OK that she was cheated on or that Kelsey openly flaunted his girlfriend in front of her and their children. On this show, Camille is FASCINATING. She is kooky, entitled, flighty, often snobby, boastful, ambitious– and entirely STRANGE. I think Kelsey is a strange bird too and maybe that’s what brought these two together in the first place. When watching these episodes I wait for them to get back to Camille because she is such a nut! I love it! But it’s also sooooo odd because you know that while she is filming the show, he’s off in NYC boning that stewardess. So, even while she’s boasting about her multiple homes and her nannies you pity her. Argh! It’s crazy!
i dont mind kyle-i think she looks like a pretty good and committed mom and she is not afraid to speak the truth to her unhinged sister about her using her kids to deal with her own neediness and insecurity.

Amanda, I’m with you. Camille is fascinating to watch. I don’t know any men that could stay married to her but still fun to watch. I have to say, this is definitely my favorite Real Housewives show so far!!! The only one that has really gotten on my nerves so far is Kim. She seems like a bit of a whiner. Not sure why she decided to do the show!

I have a friend with IBS/Crohn’s and she was told not to bear children either. Her condition has to be constantly treated with steroids (obviously incompatible with a pregnancy) and she can develop internal infection and bleeding at any time. This, in addition, to horrible pain and nausea that can strike and disable her at any moment. She has already had to have surgery twice to save her life.
Obviously all this is incompatible with the stresses of a pregnancy.

Wait, does anyone realize that in last week’s episode at the table in Camille’s home that Camille made a statement to whatever that female’s name is who is the so called “median” about Kile’s husband which sounded like she had an affair with him and…did anyone notice that before the ladies left that Camille looked at “median lady” and she swipped her finger across her nose like a cue to Camille to say that comment about Kile. I cannot remember those two comments but watch again and really listen and watch for that cue.

so … first … is Camille delusional?
short answer: no. at some point in their lives, everyone has an issue (or few) that they are very sensitive about. when they are very sensitive about said issues, they tend to read a little more into related ambiguous events than was really there. that doesn’t make someone delusional. it just means that they made a normal, understandable error in processing information. Camille made an error in processing what Kyle said to her. but Camille wasn’t delusional – this is just the way the brain works. when it only gets little bits of information, it fills the rest of the story in with whatever else it knows. she just made a mistake. the trouble is that the mistake caused such intense negative emotion for Camille, and Camille was unable to listen to others’ perspectives afterward or to communicate in an open, honest way that could have led to resolution. Camille felt attacked, and, therefore, assumed that someone must be attacking her … rather than she felt attacked because she inferred an attacking meaning from an ambiguous comment. but this doesn’t make someone delusional – it just makes them human.
second … does Camille say things that aren’t true?
short answer: yes. Camille said that Kyle said something that she did not actually say (this may not have been a lie on Camille’s part: this may have been an honest mistake). however, there are other instances when Camille has insinuated very nasty things about others that she knew were untrue or had good reason not to think were true. she deliberately led people to believe Kyle’s husband was unfaithful. she also deliberately led people to believe Kelsey was a cross-dresser. she smiled smugly and giggled when making these nasty insinuations. this doesn’t make Camille delusional. it makes her behavior catty and unconscionable. Camille fails to grasp the fact that just because she personally feels wounded, she is not entitled to attack others any way she sees fit. if she feels wounded, she is entitled to respectfully, honestly, and openly discuss her feelings with the person by whom she feels wounded. or she is entitled to cut off the relationship. but her dishonest statements hit well below the belt. to her credit, when Camille was not caught up in her own intense negative emotion, she did realize how unfair she had been … and she tried to take back the dishonest comments she had made.
