I'm a 28 year old NY resident, I don't like tatts on girls, just my opinion. Some comments refer to tatt's as works of art!!! well not the ones I've seen, have you seen soccer player D Beckhams arms? nasty.......also why not just buy an actual piece of art, hang it on your wall so much better and you can change it if/when you get bored. The only time in my opinion tatts look OK is in memoriam of a deceased family member. A personal and intimate epitaph for there eyes only.

Well put SBH :D , that's my issue with them too. I'm a female heterosexual, so it doesn't matter to me what a woman looks like, but I do find cheating is ugly and if you do it you look like an ogre to me (tattoo or not).

this conversation is amusing. Unfortunately this couple looks unhappy, very. I wonder at how the conversation got twisted up in tattoos when perhaps the "trashy" element is cheating on a spouse!

regarding tattoos. i don't have one. i won't get one. I love them. i think some are absolutely beautiful, some funny, some awful, some witty and so on...like people. the choice to get or not get a tattoo is entirely personal and hurts and affects nobody else anymore than a haircut.

I'm 36, finishing my PhD right now and am a former high level national corporate IT sales manager. most of my friends are overeducated and a number of them own successful businesses. I'd say more people I know than not have tattoos. Big deal

i won't because of religious reasons- for myself- and mostly because i like my body how it is. i don't chose to tattoo it or add additional breasts and so on - but that is my choice.

once you start demanding what someone should or should not do to their own body you start walking a very thin and dangerous line. a line that addresses abortion laws human resource demands and prejudice.

don;t be silly. Haven;t you ever seen a gorgeous tattoo? I have seen many. it's an art form, and a very interesting one if you study the history. if you don't like it - c'est la vie.

Now. I have issues with the cheating with these two. Ethan was married, not in an open relationship. If anything makes them - her - and him - trashy - that'd be it!

xxx - I fail to see how you would expect to elicit anything but passionate responses from individuals with tattoos. In a previous post, you accused everyone who is tattooed of being low-class, disrespectful, sexually loose, and a bad parent. Highly inflammatory words, ma'dam (and especially curious coming from a woman with a suggestive username like "xxx"). People are likely to take offense and respond in kind.

As for my part, I feel my response was well measured and objective in trying to offer you counter-evidence to your very hurtful, incendiary and baseless claims. (Though I realize the CAPS I used may have been construed as shouting, it was not my intention. I have yet to figure out how to italicise for emphasis on this forum, so I use CAPS to articulate certain words.) The fact that you are so cavalier in your provocation of anger suggests to me that you are A) a troll, or B) very, very thick in the head. And at 37, you're a too little old to be either.

Your stance on professionals with tattoos is laughable, and I wonder if it derives from absolute nativee or outright stupidity. Certainly there are plenty of high-ranking professionals with clandestine tattoos. (For example; When my boyfriend's anesthesiologist prepped him for surgery, he commented on my bf's tattoo and asked where he got "inked". People who are not interested in tattoos do not ask others where they got their tattoo.) As ink becomes more and more 'acceptable' in modern society, I'm sure you'll find many professionals with full sleaves, albeit hidden under their clothes - three friends of mine are heavily tattooed and are pursuing PHD's. Having ink does not correlate with one's IQ. But if you are still in doubt, perhaps you should you share your opinions with some of the men and women coming home from Iraq - the Military is one of the fastest rising sub-groups of tattooed individuals. I'm sure they'd love to hear how "low class" they are.

It occurs to me that the problem here isn't how you feel about tattoos, rather, the generational trend they represent. You seem to be rather selfconscious about your age and your appearance, and you resent the fact that your lack of tattoos betrays your age despite your efforts to disguise it. (And as a fellow athlete, I applaud your dedication to health and fitness - but posting your weight on a public message board is a bit tacky . . . low class, even, don't you think?) Your obsession over your age and appearance is highly transparent, and incredibly superficial and sad. One should be happy in the skin they are in, regardless of how marked or wrinkly they may become (and it happens to the best of us, love).

I know my skin will grow old, wrinkled and unattractive, but I'm fine with that. My tattoos are my own, and the only opinion that matters is my own. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The people who are too intimidated by my appearance and therefore choose not to associate with me, are probably not worthwhile people for me to associate with, anyways. No tears lost.

Ps - I decided to share my dietary choice to help to illustrate the point that I am very conscientious about what I put into my body, as well as what I put ON it - (again, emphasis, not shouting) - which is contrary to your claim that tattooed individuals do not respect their bodies. While I enjoy additional health benefits as a by-product of my dietary choice, I really couldn't care less if my skin ages slightly faster than my omnivorous peers. My decision to be a vegetarian, after all, isn't just about me . . . ya dig?

I have a small tattoo on the back of my neck, its easily covered by my long hair, an artist, I wanted a permanent form of art that I would always have with me, so I drew some bright colored wild flowers and added my own personal touches and had it tattoo'd from the bottom of my left rib to the left side of my belly button. I keep them covered, and I couldn't be farther from "low class" or "trashy".

I am independent, work 45+ hours a week and put myself through school full-time. I live a good life and there is nothing "low class" about it.

Tattoos are just another form of art just like anything else that is put down on a medium (the surface of the art) and called art. If you don't like someone's body shape, you don't call them trashy, its who they are.

Just like anything else in life, we all have personal preferences and choices.

I want to call you and ignorant dumb@$$ for thinking of people with tattoos the way you do, but its your choice...

Don't judge me until you have met me.

Tattoos are trashy and immature.

They are! Low class.

And no, the majority of people under 35 DO NOT have tattoos.

Sounds like you want to justify getting yours.

Yes, Ethan's woman is a perfect picture of class. Lol I'm sorry some of you weren't taught how to look respectful, respectful of your body. Tila Tequila looks smashing! At 37 I am quite sure I look much better than the majority of angry tatoo posters. I take care of my body, weigh 115 pounds, and take good care of skin. I'm sure I also look much younger due to having a good teeth and botox. I use preventative options to protect my youth. I look more like Jennifer Anniston (sans tattoo) than Pamela Anderson. Find me a MD with tattoos..... Sorry you don't agree but I think a lot of you will regret your decision as you grow older. Tell me, what do you think of 50 year olds with tatoos? Believe it or not, you too will pass 35 one day, faster than you think.

Ps, a vegetarian diet will age you quicker due to lack of protein. Take a look at the skin of vegetarians that have been doing it for 10+ years. If that's your choice good for you, I wish I could go without eating meat also. But you will lose elasticity in your face over time which makes you look older unfortunately.
