Madonna in Stella McCartney thigh-high boots: too young, or totally cute?

fp_5996907_madonna_nyc_110310

These are new photos of Madonna’s appearance last night at the 5th Annual Fashion Delivers gala in NYC. She was presenting an award to Kenneth Cole or his brother or something – but the bitch didn’t wear Cole. She wore these Stella McCartney perforated boots that looked vaguely familiar – because Blake Lively wore them MONTHS ago. The horror! Madonna not only wearing something from two seasons ago, but something that BLAKE already wore! Gasp.

And yes, they are boots. At one point – with Blake – I thought they were leggings, but they’re just thigh-high boots, and I don’t think they look comfortable at all. You know they probably leave little welts all over your legs too. Here’s a better pic of the boots:

Ugh. At least Madge’s face looked better though, right? Except not really. The cutlets have settled in nicely, at long last… and yet her face looks like she’s had something new done to it. Or maybe the plastic surgery is just caving in on itself? And I still don’t know for sure who designed the dress. Is it Stella too? Could be.

I think she looks fantastic here, if you can ignore her velociraptor arms.

  2. ziggy says:

i personally think stella mccartney as a fashion designer is highly overrated. madonna wears the boots fine…as well as anyone could those ugly monstrosities….

  3. jessica says:

I dont like the outfit or the boots.

  4. Persistent Cat says:

That’s a fantastic outfit, boots and all. She looks great.

  5. Taurus says:

Too much sparkle, too much face smh

    MJ FOR HGF!

  6. roguesiren says:

I would sell one of my kidneys for those boots

  7. Eve says:

She seems to have put on some weight — which is a good thing in her case.

  8. liz says:

She can do no wrong. No one can take the Madonna away from Madonna. Scary veiny arms and all.

  9. Riley says:

i am not sure that is her best look but I will say that it is really flattering to her figure. she looks a little more filled out— not at all fat or anything— but healthy.

  10. Jackson says:

I’m not sure it’s either too young or cute. It’s just meh. The boots work, actually, because they cover up more of her body. The dress is just too much though. Maybe if it was paired up with plain black thigh-highs? IDK. It’s just fug. I’m not sure this combo would work on anyone.

  11. Jeri says:

It’s a way to wear mini dresses without showing bony/wrinkled knees.

  12. BReed says:

Looks like someone went mad with black electrician’s tape and a hole puncher..UG-LEE!

  13. aenflex says:

    I like em

  14. 4Real says:

NO those boots are for women with LONG legs! You are supposed to see some thigh midget.

  15. Shirylgirl67 says:

She looks great with some meat on her bones.
When she starves herself she looks 20 years older.
Now she looks like a woman in her late 30’s or early 40’s.
The boots looks like leggings, but she is definitely gorgeous wearing them.

  16. Kiska says:

    Too much too much!

  17. mln says:

The boots are horrible. They looked bad on Blake who has twigs for legs and on Madge who probably has slightly thicker twigs they look even worse. I think only someone on Drag Race could make them hot.

  18. whatisay says:

The boots are not flattering at all.

  19. teehee says:

How cramping a life must be when you cant wear soemthing that someone else wears, or, from a while back. If I like something, I wear it, and then it looks good on me because Im happy in it.
Personally the dress and boots dont match; but Im glad I dont have the celebrity lens focused on me 😛

  20. OtherChris says:

I don’t love the outfit, but I don’t think she’s too old. Most women her age would be, but she’s Madonna so she can get away with it.

  21. anti says:

those leggings night work with something else, but not really with that dress. interesting though…

  22. bellaluna says:

Where’s the “Desperate” option? Because that’s the one that gets my vote!

  23. Praise St. Angie! says:

I’d like the boots OR the dress by itself, but together it’s just too much.

the dress would look good with PLAIN black thigh-high boots, and the boots would look good with a PLAIN black mini-dress.

  24. guesty says:

not liking this ensemble @ all…

  25. Az says:

To quote the Brits Madonna loves so much, she is the epitome of mutton dressed as lamb!

  26. Hautie says:

I seriously doubt she has gained any weight.

The only reason she looks heavier… is the camera is shooting from an awful angle.

This is why you never let people take pictures of you from angles like this… you just look heavy. And it will give you three chins.

Not crazy at all about the boots. But I totally agree these only belong on someone with very long thin legs. Blake looked find in them. But Madonna looks squaty and thick.

  27. KJ says:

I think she looks like Satan, personally. It’s that brow shit she had done. I love Madonna but she’s definitely morphing into Beelzebub.

  28. sassy says:

KJ: she’s always been E-veel, dah-ling! That’s why we love her! Hate to say it, but I prefer evil Madonna to “saint” madonna – adopting other peoples’ kids and trying to seem like a do-gooder.

  29. Delta Juliet says:

    FUG

  30. Nancy says:

Enough with the stupid comments on Madonna’s damn face already yes she had those nasty cheek implants done over 2yrs ago GET OVER IT her face looks fine and the outfit I liked the dress but not with those boots there’s just to much going on.

  31. Megan says:

    @ 23 u stole my thoughts 😛

  32. Amanda says:

Those boots looked much better on Blake. Paired with that dress Madonna looks a bit heavy.

  33. jdao says:

    Cute

  34. danielle says:

    Not bad.

  35. DrM says:

One or the other I say…kind of like having either your boobs or your legs out not both at the same time…Madge! Boots OR dress…looks like she had her roots done! LOL

  36. Attagirl says:

Why does she always have that smug, sh*t-eating smirk on her face? Makes me want to smack it off but I can’t stand her anyway, never have been able to. George Harrison described her pretty aptly when he was directing her in ‘Shanghai Express’ or whatever that fail of a movie was she made with Sean Penn – “a drop of talent in an ocean of ambition”.

  37. DoMaJoReMc says:

    @ BReed: HaHaHaHa! I thought the SAME exact thing. Uh-Oh! Great minds…………. ; )

  38. Nastya Zubenko says:

SHE LOOKS GREAT!!! MADONNA THE BEST!!!! LOVE YOU!!!!

  39. wunderkindt says:

The outfit is too busy looking, and something needs to be done with those arms. . .
Mutton, you are no longer a lamb!

  40. isabelle says:

    Yuck

  41. craigc says:

Get this old lady outta here!!!!

  42. Maritza says:

Those boots are awful, actually the whole outfit is awful.

  43. C-DUB says:

I think Madge rocked those boots in a very age appropriate manner. The top is a little “Blanche Devereaux” (minus the super sheerness), but the boots were cute!

  44. Keyanna says:

I think she looks great for any age. People are just upset they can’t look like her.

  45. Bailey says:

the boots wouldn’t suit any ages, just ugly.

  46. Daysma says:

At this point, Madonna is clinging on to any illusion of youth with the tips of her zombie-like hands, and scary-veiny arms. She refuses to age gracefully and is attempting every sort of trick to still appear young and with it. Including god-awful atrocious outfits and banging younger men. OH and Taurus…let it go all ready…

  47. cprincess says:

“@Ziggy-November 4th, 2010 at 12:51 pm i personally think stella mccartney as a fashion designer is highly overrated. madonna wears the boots fine…as well as anyone could those ugly monstrosities….”

    I agree with you completely.
Was it Karl Lagerfeld who said when she first got a job as a designer …”Well, they hired a Beatle”

On the subject of Madonna- I always want to say to her-gain 10 lbs, stop working out so much, get your terrible brassy hair color fixed and by the way you look 52 -just a roided out version.

  48. Roxanne75 says:

Shoot me I can’t believe I am saying this but I love the look!

  49. Jules says:

The only reason she is a ‘designer’ is because of her last name.

  50. Po says:

Ok, I know nothing about fashion etiquette (and I’m not even sure if I spelled the word right) but isn’t it proper to wear the designer’s clothes when presenting an award to said designer. If I’m wrong please feel free to school me.

  51. Marianne says:

The boots are fantastic….just not with the dress.

  52. Alexa says:

Madonna could wear anything and I would love her.

  53. Tawana says:

    Gwynet gonna be mad.

  54. lola lola says:

Boots aside, what is up with the mini-moo moo?

  55. Tredd says:

She’s ALWAYS been scary. Now, she’s scary AND irrelevant.

  56. peanut says:

    love those boots!!!

  57. womanfromthenorth says:

    YeeK!

  58. di butler says:

I am never sure about our mixed up world.

17 yr old Miley Cyrus in thigh high boots-slutty bumpkin.

50 something Madonna in thigh high boots-magnificient.

    Why?

  59. Someone Else says:

Fashion has always been a question and never a statement with Madonna.

  60. bebop says:

    love stella !!

  61. REALIST says:

Snake legs-but interesting. I think her feet are tiny, so she can’t hand them down to Lola.

  62. albeli says:

Amused that the only thing that looks the right age are her arms.

  63. Confuzzle says:

Granny looks terribly pleased with herself. Must have fresh Depends on.

  64. Shay says:

Stella’s boots need holes for the foot odor to escape. She doesn’t use leather. She uses synthetics.
I’m guessing Madonna will only wear them once, have taken a whiff from them and tossed them out.
McCartney is overrated as a designer(ie nepotism).

  65. Kiki says:

Her face looks so strange and alien to me. She doesn’t look bad. Just alien-like. I just can’t stop staring at it.

  66. Kim says:

Cute for Madonna. Any other women her age, not in singing business, would look silly in this outfit but it works for her. She is very pumped up with fillers and botox BUT i think it looks ok. Its more natural than alot ive seen.

  67. Amy says:

This might be the best I’ve ever seen her face look, actually. I always thought she was homely in the 80s and 90s, but dug her music.

She seems to have manufactured something cute here… kind of like Cher, after her surgeries settled.

  68. LBees says:

Those are some fucking ugly shoes. That’s all I can really say.

Except I’d like to add, “METH FACE! METH FACE!”

  69. gg says:

Those are boots? Aren’t they more like laser-cut tights with feet? And the whole ugly outfit tellingly looks like Stella, who I really don’t get. Her clothes really bring out the fugly in people.

  70. khaveman says:

I think Madonna’s hair/skin/face look the best they have looked in a while here. However, the outfit doesn’t work. It’s droopy and wrinkly. I love the boots from the ankle down (great toe).

  71. Siren6 says:

    Ooh. Wrong.

  72. tracking says:

I’m with those that think she rocks this look. Glam and edgy!(I’ll pretend I never heard that part about Lively wearing them first). A little too much intervention with the face, but she still looks fabulous.

  73. Stronzilla says:

She’s too short for boots like that, they’re out of proportion.

  74. trollydolly says:

I like it – I don’t particularly like her- but she can carry this off!

  75. Bobby the K says:

    Never understood her appeal.

Looks uncomfortable. Does it crease and pinch behind the knees when you sit down? It certainly isn’t sexy, even if you go for stuff made out of garbage bags.

  76. telesma says:

I think it looks great, but I also think she’s Madonna and the ageist fashion “rules” that apply to most people just don’t apply to her because she’s an icon.

  77. TXCinderella says:

Ewwwwww…it looks like someone stuck a bunch of dominos on her legs. I don’t care how fit she is, she is too old to be wearing this style. Anyone over the age of 30 should not be wearing mini dresses and thigh high boots.

  78. Sandy says:

    Granny Rocker Clothes!

  79. Alicia says:

How did she put those boots on? With Vaseline?

  80. 2% says:

I think Madonna looks ridiculous- a look she’s been rockin for the last 5 years- now with a heaping dose of desperate thrown in. Can’t wait to see her in another 5 years looking like the cryptkeeper with another of stellas awkward and unattractive styles hanging off of her skeletal/sinewy frame. Some people just don’t know when to leave the party.
BTW – about Stella the “designer”- I think she deliberately designs awful, ridiculous clothing and laughs her f-ing @ss off when she sees celebreties preening in them. She is awkward and unattractive herself and essentially a “nobody” yes- the daughter of a “somebody” but essentially a “nobody” herself. This is the way she gets back at others who think they’re “somebody”.
I think it is all great fun to watch-carry on.

  81. original kate says:

either the boots, which are meh, OR the dress, which is fab. not both.

  82. Susan says:

The only talent Stella McCartney possesses is her father.
