Jennifer Aniston gets a Cinderella makeover in Adam Sandler’s ‘Just Go With It’

The trailer was recently released for Adam Sandler’s next hit movie (ugh), Just Go With It. In the film, Adam stars as a douche who picks up women by telling them he’s married. In that, the plot copies one of my favorite Cary Grant films, Indiscreet. In Indiscreet, Cary Grant always tells women that he’s married and could never get a divorce, just so he’s never expected to commit – and then he falls in love with Ingrid Bergman (who wouldn’t?). Honestly, this trailer just made me want to watch Indiscreet again. The film also stars Brooklyn Decker in her film debut as the chick who Sandler eventually falls for and wants to commit too – and let’s just say I get the feeling that Meryl Streep’s career is safe. I know, I know – Brooklyn is a crappy actress? Say it ain’t so. Jennifer Aniston is also in it – she plays the chick/coworker/friend of Sandler, and Sandler somehow ropes her into pretending to be his estranged wife.

God, this looks dumb. I also find it interesting that Aniston is “the Cinderella” of the story – she’s the one who gets the makeover, although from what I can tell, the makeover just consisted of taking her hair out of a ponytail, taking off her glasses and putting on a great white shift. I mean… are we supposed to buy Aniston as mousy when she has great highlights and a permanent bronze tan?

Nicole Kidman is also supposed to have a smaller part in the film, but I don’t see her in the trailer at all. I wonder if that’s on purpose? Was her face really, really jacked?

Oh, should I even bitch about the mind-numbing plot point of having a girl who looks like Brooklyn (and is that f-cking young) falling in love with a middle-aged, paunchy Sandler? Jesus.

This looks soooo cute! I want to see it.

  2. lucy2 says:

I can’t stand Adam Sandler comedies to begin with, and if this is all about him picking up way too pretty women, double no thanks. It looks both improbable and predictable.
I think we can all see that there are TWO reasons Decker was cast in this film.

  3. Girafe99 says:

I’m not feeling it to go see it at the pictures might be worth a rental

    What was Sandlers last hit?

  4. Oh yay annother Anniston romcom *sarcasm*

  5. Cruisin Through says:

It’s probably cute, mildly entertaining and forgettable. Except for Bounty Hunter, I haven’t found her movies to be bad, there is just nothing about them that stands out either.

Sandler is Sandler. There’s nothing memorable about his movies either.

  6. Liana says:

I think this actually looks like a fun mindless redbox $1.00 rental.

  7. gabs says:

It actully looks alright, but I hate that he falls for hot young thing, like its so cliche and sexist as all sandler movies. It would be refreshing twist if he ends up with the jen aniston character instead while they run the scam

  8. Lucky Charm says:

I wouldn’t even give up a $1 for redbox. Maybe when it comes out on tv in a few years…Nah, not even then.

  9. roguesiren says:

I think Jennifer Aniston looks cute in the pictures. Looks better than she has in a while.

  10. wonderwoman21 says:

Why is it EVERY Adam Sandler movie consists of Adam Sandler playing a ladie’s man/player? I mean really, Sandler isn’t attractive, appealing, interesting, charismatic, or funny. In these movies he’s always doing/dating incredibly hot (and young) women. Its gross and pathetic.

  11. nnn says:

This movie is just so depressingly and recurrently juvenile. It’s not even funny.

But i guess it will do fine in the US and in the UK.

  12. Marjalane says:

I don’t have much faith in a movie that has kiss of death #1 and #2 in it, (Anniston and Kidman) A perfect trifecta would have included Heigl, but you can’t have everything.

  13. chasingadalia says:

@Lucy2 – three if you count what’s going on in the southern part of that bikini. Yikes. Aren’t there inserts to prevent that from happening?

  14. laura says:

As a *somewhat* sober (come on, it’s 8:30 and a glass of wine with dinner is okay), busy mom, I honestly think this looks too dumb for words. I might rather vacuum the stairs or wax the floor, but having said that, I’ll still probably make Hubs watch it with me once it comes to Redbox.

  15. t says:

It also sounds like the plot from “Cactus Flower”. In the Adam Sandler role, a middle aged Walter Matthau plays an unmarried dentist dating a very young Goldie Haun. Interestingly, Ingrid Bergman is in this one too. She’s Matthau’s office assistant who is roped into posing as his wife.

  16. maria says:

Anniston has romance novel reading cat mom written all over her face.

  17. ThirdChris says:

Wait…the chick in the yellow bikini is the one who falls for Sandler? Please.

  18. Mimi says:

Gosh, relax a bit! Not every movie needs to be a drama. Take a chill pill.

Your hate for Aniston is getting out of hand.

  19. Jello says:

Actually this movie looks so bad, Aniston’s easily the best thing in it. And don’t jump on me. I have nothing against her.

  20. Cheyenne says:

@Mimi: maybe you need to take that chill pill. Nobody’s hating on Aniston. They just said the movie sounds bad. They’re right. It does sound bad.

  21. Moxie says:

Don’t most Hollywood movies feature a male star who’s too old for the female star he’s linked with? I’ve seen it with George Clooney, Tom Hanks, and many, many others, so Sandler isn’t the only one.

  22. Raven says:

t, I hadn’t thought about Cactus Flower in years. It is the only film I ever attended with my mother.

After thinking for years what a doofus Adam Sandler was, I discovered that he’s hugely wealthy because of his films. His past films have made a fortune here and overseas. Go figure.

  23. DrM says:

I’m with laura….I think I’ll go wash my floor instead…UGH!

  24. truthzbetta says:

Adam Sandler is supposed to be able to get with that? Oh come on, Hollywood producers are so smarmy. I guess we know who the latest casting couch graduate is. Gross.

I just assumed Aniston is the love interest since you could almost believe it, but he’s supposed to be able to pull a Swimsuit Illustrated model and her barbie blow up doll inflatable implants? Puhleez. Will pass on this fakeness, the storyline and the ‘plants.

  25. The Hamm is My Dream Man says:

I don’t understand casting a model. There are lots of pretty young actresses-thousands. They chose some big breasted blonde model?

  26. kiki says:

Looks really awful. The plot of this film is pretty far-fetched.

First, nobody as hot as Brooklyn falls for a whiny schlub like Adam Sandler. On what planet does that happen?

Second, he ends up with the Aniston character. So, he picks Aniston over a gorgeous, big-boobed model like Brooklyn? Another “yeah right!” moment.

That being said, it will make money b/c of Sandler. For some reason, this guy has fans who will pay to see his awful movies. I don’t get the appeal but whatever.

  27. saintdevil says:

Two hot women fighting over Adam Sadler?!

About as believable as all those Woody Allen movies where hot girls fall for geriatric patients: Wishful thinking!

  28. serena says:

Seems boring, the same old stuff.
But also a bit funny, maybe I’ll watch it to just pass time.
Anyway I like Jennifer with glasses on and ponytail, with the middle-age geek look that is. Not that I usually like her.. so this part (when she’s not the same old character who can’t find love blablah) seems interesting.

  29. Jazz says:

You just know he’ll end up with Jen’s character, or neither of them while learning a major life experience. There – now you don’t have to go see it.

  30. donna says:

I don’t think it looks dumb, I think it looks good! I want to see it. i am sure if there was a bony big lipped addict in the movie you would think it looked good.

  31. lisa says:

I’ll be honest.. I won’t watch this at all..

But why did they do the dumb obvious plot. But this doesn’t look good and with the kids thrown in..ugh..

and we know the ending already. He ends up with Aniston.. Big freaking surprise..

@t YOU ARE RIGHT.. IT IS A REMAKE OF CACTUS FLOWER. MAN what happened to originality.

  32. mln says:

I don’t know what is more improbable Brooklyn Decker with Sandler or the idea that anyone would choose Aniston over BD. Not that we don’t know Jen doesn’t look good but come on it’s pathetic.
Isn’t this also the thing that gives Heidi and Spencer their cinematic debut?

  33. Jazz says:

So Jen has a ponytail – does that mean she’s finally going to have a different hairstyle for this movie.
@mln – on no, those two twats are in it? Ugh!
Lol at the “bony big lipped addict” comment up there, the loonies will get ya for that!

  34. snapnhiss says:

Holy mother of god, that’s a big camel toe!

  35. mslewis says:

Moxie, in those other movies where the old guy gets the hot girl, those guys are HANDSOME and SEXY, something Sandler is NOT!!! That’s the difference. I mean, really, Adam Sandler as a lady’s man does not compute!! Sandler is the producer of this flick so I guess he can have any woman he wants. It’s the “Woody Allen Syndrom” of egomanic Hollywood actors with casting powers. It’s laughable.

Also, Sandler’s last couple of movies haven’t done that well at the BO so the fate of this one is up in the air. It’s being released in February, which is usually the time when Hollywood throws out the movies they don’t expect much from. They are releasing the trailer fairly early though.

  36. Majosha says:

Brooklyn Decker’s bikini top looks like it’s fighting for its life. And losing.

  37. truthSF says:

    Majosha:

Brooklyn Decker’s bikini top looks like it’s fighting for its life. And losing.
    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

While Jennifer Aniston’s top looks like it’s unsuccessfully searching for anything to hold it up.

  38. principessa says:

Really adam with two hot chicks….give it up! start using some hot actors to match!

  39. original kate says:

“First, nobody as hot as Brooklyn falls for a whiny schlub like Adam Sandler. On what planet does that happen?”

LMAO! it happens in male screenwriter land, evidently.

  40. sandy says:

i knew it would not be long before we see jen A. because her bff has been getting a lot of press lately and jen is as forgettable as yesterdays bread so she had to resurface soon, lest we all forget. another none story article.

  41. kiki says:

I remember Not Another Romance Movie spoofing these movies. They had a scene where the girl w/glasses takes them off, and suddenly she’s hot. It’s really SAD when your movie is that cliche.

It’s pretty easy to guess what happens. Sandler’s character is shallow (b/c he’s a plastic surgeon chasing the hot girl). He ends up learning that he’s shallow, and ends up with Aniston’s character. You can pretty much guess everything here.

  42. gillie says:

wouldnt be caught dead watching this movie, but holy cow— i love the shoes JA is wearing with the white dress.

  43. jzhz says:

Yeah, this is for schlubby guys out there, not for women. They’re the only ones who think/hope women would be interested in flabby, boring men.

Not the scenario I go to the movies to see.

  44. hyuch says:

I though JA looked quite likeable in that trailer and is probably the best things about that film.

  45. mslewis says:

. . . holy cow— i love the shoes JA is wearing with the white dress.
    —————————————
I was going to say that I love the belt she’s wearing with that white dress. Really unusual and adorable. I also love the shoes but I could never walk in them so I’ll just ignore them!!!

  46. Rita says:

Darn it Donna, move on, it is almost 2011. Repeating tabloid lies do not make them truth, haven’t you learned that reality yet? And living your life in someone else’s past for years and years is totally rediculous.

That said this will likely make $$$$ because Sandler has fans who will see him in almost anything, and this is being released as Valentine’s Day bait. And Sandler’s co-stars are always secondary to him in his films. JA is being moved into aging women roles as is typical in celeb land where with very few exceptions actresses are over the hill at 40. This is a sad reality. I won’t be seeing this as Sandler is not my cup of tea.

  47. Majosha says:

@truthSF: I thought the same thing, too, lol.

  48. DiMi says:

i can’t believe i’m writing this, but it looks kind of cute Even if you hate Sandler, watch Punk Drunk Love, and you’ll change your mind.

Clearly, he ends up with Aniston instead of Decker. Predictable, but I might go along for the ride.

  49. Isa says:

I like Adam Sandler movies. I know. I know.
I’m far from model material, but good looks don’t really matter to me as long as the guy doesn’t disgust me.
I think Adam is cute in his movies because they make me laugh.

  50. Ycnan says:

Has anyone seen Funny People? It’s really funny and I think Sandler is good it in. Also Punch Drunk Love was good as well.

But this? I don’t watch ANY rom coms. Most are horrible, predictable and painful to watch.

  51. Camille says:

Yep Aniston is more Sandlers speed- looks wise anyway. 😆

  52. fwozbo says:

A million loser guys will be seeing this movie. They all live on fantasies.

  53. Newbie says:

    @Cheyenne: so transparent. try harder…

  54. Cheyenne says:

@Newbie: Try harder for what? She’s hardly worth the effort.

@Mslewis: Love the belt and the Jimmy Choos.

  55. LittleFATMe says:

    Netflix instant streaming! 🙂

  56. Nj says:

I didn’t see Punch Drunk Love, but I did see Spanglish, which was one of those films that has a lot wrong with it but also had things that were very right. And I thought Sandler was very strong and appealing in that. This is coming from someone who cannot stomach his comedies and won’t even try.

  57. Moreaces says:

I dont like Adam, I dont like Jen,, and I have no idea who the other chick is,, so I wont be watching at the movies or on dvd

  58. The Hamm is My Dream Man says:

Punch Drunk Love is awful. It’s a like the bastard stepchild of a Wes Anderson movie.

  59. Lauren says:

Wow–this movie looks like pure dreck. I thought it would be better than this?

I saw Aniston’s acting coach on twitter. Aniston brought her to the movie set. On Twitter, her acting coach said that Sandler and Aniston had the charisma and chemistry of Spencer Tracey and Katherine Hepburn. So, Aniston pays people to teach her to be Rachel, and blow smoke up her ass?! Unbelieveable.

  60. Crash2GO2 says:

“I mean really, Sandler isn’t attractive, appealing, interesting, charismatic, or funny.”

    Speaketh for yourselfeth.

  61. Bobby the K says:

“I mean really, Sandler isn’t attractive, appealing, interesting, charismatic, or funny.”

I agree. So vastly over rated. And now super wealthy. It’s like Paulie Shore to me, I don’t know how some of these guys get their carreers off the ground.

  62. Glee says:

    She is like used tissue….

  63. Newbie says:

    @Cheyenne: I was talking about YOU, darling…

  64. andy says:

When i see her play a powerful women lawyer or a person who gets dirty, i will never see any movie with her in it no matter who else is playing. SHE CAN’T ACT AND NEVER WILL!
