In addition to the European MTV Awards, last night was also the big premiere of Morning Glory, the film everybody’s mom wants to see. Personally, I’ve already had to promise my mom that I’d take her to see it, and I doubt I’m the only one. It’s going to be epic – Harrison Ford as a curmudgeon, Canada’s Sweetheart Rachel McAdams, and Diane Keaton doing her silly best. Now, while I think the trailer looks good, I don’t really get how this film is being promoted. If I was in charge (if, if, if), I would be putting the emphasis on Rachel as the Everywoman, the next Julia Roberts/Reese Witherspoon type who can carry a rom-com on her own. I’d also add a dash of Oscar nomination “rumors” for Harrison, because he looks really interesting in this. What I would not do is encourage my leading lady, Rachel, to dress up like some kind of twitchy blonde bombshell. This premiere dress (Lanvin) and styling reeks of “trying too hard” and it makes me not like her. Plus, I just don’t care for her as a blonde.
Harrison looked like hell too. I know he’s Old and everything, but the hair and the earring… God, Harrison. Just slick back your hair and be the elder statesman that you are.

I love Rachel-she’s my girl crush! But I like her better as an auburn too. I think she’s trying to rock the edgy look but she’s too cute to pull it off.

I think McAdams looks adorable – the fit and cut and color of that frock are all flattering. The shoes aren’t my taste, but the ensemble isn’t skin-tight, a shocking color, overly embellished nor is she overexposed. Your try-hard comment makes no sense – she’s not tarted up nor trying to look ‘edgy’ and failing.
Although I do agree that Harrison Ford looks less delightful with that hair and earring. A shame bc I’ve loved him forever

Yep. Rachel is always gorgeous-she’s a knockout no matter what. But thtat blonde is wrong on her, and the shoes are horrible…I love the dress and she looks good in it-different shoes would have helped-they are too heavy for that dress, too speak easy/swing dancing, and the dress is more evening cocktail wear.
Yet still…she looks beautiful.

To me McAdams’ outfit is the antithesis of trying too hard. It looks like you’d just put it over your head, pull it on, pop on the shoes and the bracelets and go. It reminds me of the scene in Breakfast at Tiffany’s where Holly Golightly is quickly dressing to visit the prison. Very quick and she looked great when she was done.

bros – from what I could find out on style sites, the dress is Lanvin, but they could totally be wrong. It doesn’t look like Lanvin to me either. It looks like Gucci from five years ago.

Kaiser, I am right there with you regarding her blonde hair. I don’t understand why she insists on being blonde when she is such a lovely brunette. I thought she was strikingly cute in “Wedding Crashers” with her dark hair. The blonde completely washes out her features.
Having said that, I do like the dress. It’s kind of fun. She could’ve made a better shoe choice, but they’re not that bad. Diane Keaton’s dress is the tragic one. She looks like a black teletubby.

A while back someone posted about Rachel McAdams having a new and tragic nose and at the time I didn’t see it, but I do in these pictures- that little ball on the tip is a dead giveaway. I wonder why she did it- her old nose wasn’t bad! I really like the hairstyle, it just needs a little more depth of color.

I’m just going to go in a whole different direction w/this & ignore the actors completely to say, Do you see the “talk about it!” logo on the wall behind them? Last night’s NYC premiere benefited the Epilepsy Foundation. November is National Epilepsy Awareness Month, but gets little-to-no press, so this is HUGE!!

I think Rachel looks GORGEOUS, BEAUTIFUL, LOVELY! I love her hair, makeup, skin, dress color and shoes. The dress style is perfectly flattering on her . . . I’m just not a fan of strapless dresses – especially plain ones. They almost remind me of someone just exiting the shower wrapped in a towel. Ya know? They easily look too casual imo. Not Rachel’s fault, though. Plus – they’re EVERYWHERE!

I like Rachel. It looks like the stylists were trying for the “blonde bimbo” look which is too bad. It’s hard to make Rachel look really bad though. I like her with the light brown hair like in The Notebook.

Being brunette is one of the things that makes Rachel stand out. There are so many Barbie-cut (literally) blondes in Hollywood, it makes me want to scream! It would be fun to put mugshots of them up and see if you could name them accurately.
Stay brunette and smart, Rachel. I had made up my mind not to like you but you were way too good with Robert Downey. It wouldn’t have worked if you were a blond.
