I don’t generally follow this kind of thing and was clueless about the situation with Haim but last night saw an ad for the Lost Boys sequel on DVD and thought about the fact that Haim had recently passed away. I Googled him and found that his life sounds to have been quite tragic and there is a pattern there often of people who seem to have it all, the American dream, and yet in a way who really have nothing. So I saw some strange seeming progression in regard to lost innocence and Peter Pan and molestation. Jackson of course died recently as well and Corey Feldman was his friend and would dress like him. Jackson the infamous molester had the Neverland Ranch, the name of which references Peter Pan, and of course poor Corey Haim was in The Lost Boys which references Peter Pan and it seems as though most of his miserable life of struggling with drugs until his death is directed connected to the fact that he was indeed lost when his innocence was taken from him.

HAIM: I was at Neverland eight, nine, some odd years ago, when he was going through the thing with the kid. And I even said to him then, are you are right with this kid thing? He said, yes, I am fine.
He was one of the smartest, sweetest guys I have ever met in my life. And there are a lot of these weird allegations going around about like, people saw my show and somehow they think I got molested when I was a kid by Michael Jackson.
And I really want to throw it out there, that never happened.
VAN SUSTEREN: Never happened?
HAIM: No. and I’m sure you were going to ask me the same thing.

He was just a really nice guy. I do not know how to explain that. I knew nothing happened. Just my first impression of him, that’s just me, you know? I did not know him as well as a lot of people.

How can Michael Jackson be the ONE who raped Heim when he was 14 when he only met Michael Jackson for the first time when he turned 29?

I think its proof he was sexually interested in children because he could have had a kid of his own, but chose to use a surrogate father instead of himself. He is not into incest just sex with
other peoples kids! The pervert never had a girlfriend or boyfriend at 50 years old. Then the fact he admits to sleeping with little boys in his own bed! sleeping yea right! He also was accused by three different boys, one who described his little penis in detail, but they just wanted his money. If this info is true in any way, it shld. be addressed and reported. Remember Teri Hatcher’s abuse not being reported & that young girl/woman killed herself. So sad. I’m sure it must still bother Ms Hatcher. If this info. is NOT true, there are many other subjects they could create for their show for entertainment. This is not a fluff subject & shld. be addressed properly. Even a “Law & Order” show wld handle it responsibly in comparison. I have had quite a few friends over the years that this has happened to & it complicates/devastates everyone indefinitely.

Mairead, I believe both were very likely abused, particularly Feldman, but this scene was most definately one of their rehearsed ones. There are most likely some elements of truth, but I don’t believe all of what Haim was saying. I think details were stretched or changed for drama.

A&E’s website for this show calls it “cinema verite”. My major was television, but I took enough film classes to know that “cinema verite” is A&E’s way of saying “this show is fake as hell, but we’re going to admit it through a fancy term that most people don’t know the definition of so they may still think it’s real.”

I have a solution for court costs/jailing these vermin…public stonings! Who would not buy a rock or two? If you have been or know someone who has been raped, molested or subjected to God only knows what crimes against nature, you would be there to stone the person that did it.

It is sad that we live in a land that is so in to ledigation, but can’t seem to come up with an appropreate sentence for this crime.

A child does die in these cases. While they might stop emotionally growning, their innocence is taken. They didn’t offer it. They didn’t ask to grow up too quickly. They were murdered. Their spirit, their understanding of right and wrong and their hearts.

Megan’s law didn’t do nearly enough for victims. It tells you were someone lives IF they register. Those who register are the ones you more than likely don’t have to worry about, since they took the time to register.

If you touch a child in a sexual way, you deserve to die. You have murdered their chances of a normal life. It takes years, if not a life time, to recover. Not everyone is as lucky as some of the people on here. They don’t all have family that support them. More often than not, they are a victim again and again. Family turns on THEM.

Oh it breaks my heart. We need stricter punishments.

They ought to tie the offender to a chair, arm the parents with baseball bats and give all three some quality time together. As a parent, I can honestly say that beating the living shit out of the person who harmed my child so egregiously would be therapeutic. If that makes me a crazy bitch, so be it.

I just read that the Supreme Court has ruled against the death penalty for child rape. I also saw that over 3/4 of the populace disagrees with the ruling. Their reason was that this is cruel and unusual punishment. Because the kids are still alive.

This makes me angry. If any crime deserves capital punishment, it is sexual abuse of children. Right, the kids live through it, except for those year old baby girls raped by grown men, who are injured and die as a result. But their lives are never normal, never. In a way it’s worse than murder, because the innocent kids are punished for the rest of their lives by the actions of someone else. This is truly wrong.
