2.2 million pounds (almost 5 mil US) seems pretty extravagant to me, especially if she didn’t make that much.

Newer artists make nothing off their albums. The money is in touring (merchandising, etc.) and corporate shilling. So it doesn’t matter how many copies her album sold, she probably doesn’t even make a $1 an album.

Cookin the books most likely if it is even true. These are her own companies, no? Who wants to show a profit and pay big time taxes? Write off everything and show a loss at the end of the year.

But wasn’t her biggest hit “Fell In Love With a Boy” – written by The White Stripes as “Fell In Love With a Girl”?

Seems like she just needs to find a new song to cover.
