Gibson set himself up for it with his nasty tirades, and gave you a good setup for your commentary as well. We all disagree. It's part of being human. If only the leaders of the world could learn to disagree the way we do--by airing our opinions without, I dunno, lobbing bombs at each other's heads or flames at each other's blogs ;-)--wouldn't we all live in a much safer and more peaceful world? They gave prior notice and warned the residents of the target areas to get the hell out. And after the tragedy in Qana, the Israelis formally apologized. The massacre of innocent women and children there was not intentional. Have the Hizbollah or Hamas ever bothered to provide advance warning to the places and people they suicide bombed? No, because the murder of innocent women and children *is* intended by the Hizbollah and Hamas terrorists. I agree that the Israeli response to the soldiers' kidnap was disproportionate. But this is not a war over a few militants sneaking over the border, nor is this a war about a few kidnapped soldiers. This is a war about the unrelenting terrorists assault on a nation as full of innocent women, children, and civilians as the ones being mourned in Lebanon now. It's not that simple. I guess it's just a confirm to everyone who accused Gibson's movie Passion of the Christ to be insulting against Jewish.. I don't know what to think of it, I didn't even know he was a member of Opus Dei - I always liked Gibson so far but this incident definitely makes me reconsider my opinion!
