Last night there was a dinner to benefit the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund, and several celebrities came out to eat and raise money. Karl Lagerfeld does not approve of any of it, from the eating to the fashion to the general atmosphere, as you can tell. Probably because there was some especially bad fashion at a fashion event, and perhaps because The Kaiser designed a couple of these bad dresses. Take Carey Mulligan, in Chanel. I f-cking hate this dress. If it was just the dress, maybe I could like it, but the bejeweled shrug/caplet thing is just horrible. It makes her look like she’s stepped off the Dynasty set. I dislike the booties too.
The only good thing about this – Carey learned at the event that she was cast as Daisy Buchanan in Baz Luhrmann’s version of The Great Gatsby (starring Leo D.). Baz called her at the event, and she was so happy she burst into tears! Good for her.
Next up: Christina Ricci and her bangs trauma. A few months ago, Ricci was looking great. Not so much anymore. I hate the bangs, and I hate the dress too.
Blake Lively was there too, with her boobs looking especially jacked. Ugh. She was up for the part of Daisy – sucks to be her.
Do you think Zac Posen is at all perturbed that Kim Kardashian’s Kat-Face was his date? You know who used to be his date for these events? Natalie Portman. And now all he can scrounge up is Kim. Ugh.
And last but not least, the Olsens. JESUS. These two need an exorcism.

ricci: dress is so-so, the black tights with it are awful.
blake looks sort of skanky. Her hair just looks awful!
kim’s dress is rumpled and the olsens look like witches.
Zac is the only one that looks good! And even that is just in comparison to the others.

I think Carey maybe wearing something vintage. Its adorable and very Haute Couture even if its not vintage, its perfect for this event. Bad shoes though. Vintage or not, bad shoes.

Whatever, reagarding Carey’s dress. Thank f-cking god, she got the part of Daisy. Yay for actual talent and knowing that a fake nose, fake boobs and questionable relationship with Harvey Weinstein can only get you so far.
And can someone please tell me WHY she’s on the cover of another Vogue magazine (albeit the “Best Dressed” edition?)

Its nice to see a good actress with real talent win the role over the big boobed girl who slept with weinstein. Now I hope nolan isnt giving her a part in batman 3 though. Yup carey’s dress is tragic. I mean I can’t tell you the last time I’ve seen so many different levels of fug. Cricci’s bangs trauma as Kaiser calls it hurts my soul because I love her. The Olsens look like the offspring of cousin It and I’m ignoring Blake until she wears something that doesn’t live up to her nickname of Boobs Legsly.
The only person who looked fab is Zac Posen. Talk about Dapper.

I tend to disagree with the bangs trauma sentiments. A lot of women with large foreheads (can’t really remember, but I think Ricci is one of those women) look FAR better when they add some bangs.

@12, can’t read the name. It was rumored that Weinstein wanted to ruin her career because she WOULDN’T sleep with him. So while I think she’s overrated it’s unfair to label her as someone who’s sleeping her way to the top. I do buy however, that she’s ambitious and that she’s working very hard right now to meet the right people and make the right connections, just wish she’d go take some acting and elocution classes and prove she’s got talent that way.

Twice now today I have totally agreed with Love Angelina (Blake’s dress is FAB, and J.Lo’s engagement ring with the pink diamond WAS the most beautiful, lustworthy ring ever and the only celeb ring I’ve ever coveted). Sincerely Jouet , I know this UGG Schweiz outfit and her hair and make-up photograph terribly. However, I watched the show and on television UGG Stiefel she actually looked amazing, which shocked me because I saw the pics first and expected her to look an even hotter mess on TV.
