CB prefers to call Jake Gyllenhaal and Taylor Swift “Jaylor” but I still think it sounds too much like Gaylord. Jwifty still appeals to me. Anyway, Us Weekly hasn’t released their cover story yet, but I’m enjoying the hell out of their cover this week. I mean… it’s perfect. What goes on in Jake’s publicist’s mind? “You know what will solve all of these gay rumors? Endless stories about Jake and a 14 year old going out for maple coffee and ice cream with sprinkles, then sending them out for posed photo ops!” I just can’t get over how freaking posed everything in this relationship is. Who do they think they are fooling?
Also – does anyone else think that Gaylord Jwifty is somehow being sponsored by coffee companies? Discuss.

I still find it very disappointing. Neither of them are setting a good example for her young fans. Sure go ahead date some who’s 21 when your 15. That’s only a 6 year difference. Taylor did it. There are many impressionable, easily manipulated young girls out there who are of legal age let alone underage. It’s creepy that he would have that much in common with her that they would promote this relationship so hard, like it’s totally normal.

Please, Jake is not gay. Have you seen that video that was (rather creepily I admit) secretly filmed and then posted of him hitting on all those girls in the club on his Russian promo trip for Prince of Persia? Boy’s got moves! there’s not a doubt in my mind that he is straight. (And hot and goofy and funny and charming and I could go on….) Just because he portrayed a gay character in Brokeback Mountain it does not make him gay people. It’s called ACTING.
As for Swifty. Well…due my extreme love for the Jakemeister (he is top of my freebie five) well, I’m not gonna lie, I was a bit put off, and did wonder what he saw in her. But I’m slowly coming to terms with it (I know, I know, I need therapy!). She is at the very least, a sweet, grounded, reasonably normal girl, not a skanky fame-ho. It could be sooo much worse. She may not be the best live singer etc etc but she’s a grafter, works hard, is obviously intelligent and ambitious, I’ll give her that.
Just please don’t write a song about Jakey trampling all over your rainbows and shooting your unicorns if it all goes horribly wrong Swifty.

It’s definitely a fake relationship – to raise both their profiles, but it doesn’t mean Jake is gay – wtf? how is he gay? Based on what? He played a gay character – it doesn’t make him gay – just like it doesn’t make Sean penn gay. He went out with Reese witherspoon for 2 years – as if Reese, an already A-list, oscar winning actress was going be a “beard” for an almost nobody at that time. Prince of Persia bombed and Jake desperately needs Love and Drugs to do well, otherwise his career is pfffff… She needs to graduate from girl to woman and has an album to promote. Can anyone tell me whether publicists actually read the comments people leave on gossip sites, or do they just blindly ignore the opinions of the public? The reason I ask is that from the start the majority of those following whatever this (real or fake) have always maintained that it was purely for PR. It doesn’t matter what website you go on, almost everyone has called them out. One would assume their publicists would have thought, “OK, no one believes this so let’s think of something else”. Instead, they’ve continued to shove this down everyone’s throats to such an extent, even those who may have bought into it at the start are now thinking otherwise. It beggars belief that these PR teams who are responsible for maintaining the public image of their clients actually think that we’re that gullible. It doesn’t matter what these articles say to try and cover up how glaringly incompatible they are as a couple, very few people believe this. To try and convince us that they’re in love after spending a handful of weekends together is a joke. The longer they drag this out, the more likely people will get sick of them.
I’m not surprised Taylor would go along with this if she wants to appeal to a wider, more adult audience and breakaway from the kiddie pop she’s known for, plus it benefits her album sales. Jake on the other hand just looks like a f**king idiot for agreeing to go along with it. Prior to this, he was well respected and came off as a genuine guy, who shunned the Hollywood machine (ok, fine it may have been an act but we bought it ). Now he’s being ridiculed, his credibility has taken a knock and he is losing the support of his fanbase. This stunt is making him less popular and if people lose interest in him, they not going to pay to see his movies. Jake really needs success at the box office because that’s the one thing that has alluded him of late. If he can’t open a movie, studios and directors will be more reluctant to back him. To resort to photo ops and showmances to boost his popularity/profile just makes him look desperate.

Jake has been trying to settle down since Kirsten Dunst, and Taylor seems like the ideal choice due to her youth and lack of experience. @Nicky, what you’ve posted about how this is obviously fake and has hurt Jake’s rep etc. completely applies to Clooney’s fake relationship, too. It boggles the mind how publicists can’t see the damage this sort of ruse does and even more so how their clients can’t see it. Part of why it’s damaging is the public feels the celeb is trying to put one over on us, and actually that is what they are trying to do. Not good to treat your audience/fans like they are idiots. Someone on ONTD has posted scans of the article and I’m not kidding, if you thought the cover was posed, just check out the other pictures inside! It’s also very telling as to why no pap pics had surfaced before – probably because this was an exclusive deal for the mag. The article is ridiculous, it seems to be written around all of the photos in such detail that the person writing it would have to have been by their side to recall everything. Honestly, it’s hilarious but such BS. What I disliked was the way they really lay into Reese and use her as a comparison as to why Taylor’s so much better for Jake than Reese ever was. F**k that! What makes me laugh though is most of the article says they’re in love, they have so much in common, the age gap isn’t an issue blah blah blah but then at the end admit it’s probably not going to last past the holidays.
