I don’t mean to be snotty about this (despite the fact that I am still quite full of literal snot with this cold that will not die), but I TOLD YOU SO. Brooke Mueller claimed last week (or the week before) that she was “sober” and “healthy”. This was despite looking like she was back on the pipe - and then some – for months, plus hanging out with Paris Hilton constantly (for a new reality show they’re filming). And now Us Weekly reports that Brooke has checked into a “sober living facility” in LA. Brooke has already done the rehab in-and-out thing most of the year – for God knows how many addictions. Crack, alcohol, coke, anything goes. Those poor babies.
Brooke Mueller, Charlie Sheen’s soon-to-be ex-wife, checked into a sober living facility in L.A. on Friday, a source confirmed to UsMagazine.com.
Mueller, 32, who has done stints in rehab for various addictions, “checked in just for a couple weeks to keep her sobriety,” the source explains. The mother to Sheen’s twin sons Bob and Max, 20 months, was “starting to feeling tempted,” the insider told Us.
Her friend Kathy Hilton — who is shooting an Oxygen reality show with Mueller and her daughter Paris Hilton — tells Us, “Brooke is fine and taking preventative measures.” Hilton added that the development “won’t affect the show,” and that she is “very proud” of her pal.
Last Saturday, Mueller shot down a false report that she had checked into rehab over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend after a wild night of partying. “The story is ridiculous,” she told Us. “I am happy and healthy.”
She and Sheen, 45, wed in May 2008, and famously got into a violent fight last Christmas in which the Two and a Half Men actor reportedly threatened her with a knife. They both filed for divorce Nov. 1.

Wait… she went into a sober house because she was feeling “tempted”? Yeah, right. She’s been blitzed out of her skull at events for months – just look at these photos. Oddly enough, I used these exact photos for the post on Brooke claiming to be “sober”. Here’s why I’m not really sympathetic towards Brooke: first of all, she’s still lying. She’s lying to us, and to herself, if she thinks we’re buying the whole “she checked herself into a sober house because she was tempted” thing. Secondly, I’m not sympathetic to any former or current user (who happens to be a mother of two small sons) who willfully hangs out with a parasitic user and abuser like Paris Hilton. Thirdly, I don’t have sympathy for Brooke because it’s pretty clear she doesn’t take her sobriety seriously, so why should I? She never checks into a rehab facility that will actually make her stop using, she just checks into places that are like spas, where she can check herself out as soon as she needs a fix. Ugh.

Wow, I wonder what’s going to happen to all of Charlie Sheen’s kids. Denise seems stable enough but Charlie is a wreck and in the case of the kids he has with Brooke, who do they have to look to for role models. Its actually pretty sad.

Yes, she should’ve known that no one can take her seriously claiming sobriety when she’s shooting a ‘reality’ show. Let alone one with Paris Hilton.
The least she could do is try to be a ‘good example’ with honesty. I have no sympathy for her either, just for her children.

It’s really a shame that this mother of two babies can’t get her act together and get off drugs permanently!! I feel sorry for those boys.
Charlie has an older daugher who just got married who seems to be normal and Denise seems to be raising her daughters well enough (though she does use them for PR when she wants her photo in the tabs) but I don’t see where these little boys have much of a chance in life unless their mother cleans up and get straight. Lord knows Charlie will never get clean so there won’t be any help from him!!
This sad story can’t end well. These people need to grow up.

Do any body think Charlie Sheen would have picked a nice normal women to marry? Heck no! Charlie only choose to be around really messed up people like himself. I don’t feel Charlie will ever get better either. I just feel sorry for the twins. I also feel sorry for his little girls because Denise seem to stay in la-la land claiming everything is rosy.
One thing for sure Charlie Sheen need to be fix so he don’t get some prostitute knock up during one of his drunken/drug binge.

Charlie has 5 kids: his eldest daughter Cassandra (who he fathered when he was 19), the two girls with Denise, and the two boys with Brooke.
His eldest daughter, Cassandra Estevez, is around 26 now- she just married her high school sweetheart. There isn’t much info out there about her, but Charlie had very little to do with raising her. I’ve read a report that said that Martin Sheen raised her, and that her mother raised her with Martin’s support. Either way, the girl dodged a big bullet not being around Charlie, especially back when he was shooting his girlfriends, etc. Hard to believe, but Charlie used to be even WORSE.

It is possible that she was feeling on shaky ground, and checked herself in to the sober facility to STAY sober. People do that, whether we believe them or not.

I don’t know if she is taking her sobriety seriously or not. But she is definitely better off in a facility, away from her kids and the rest of society, if she is still struggling with her addiction. I know people wish addicts could see the error of their ways, and heal overnight. They want an addict to look at their kids, their families and friends, and make the right choice. But the draw of addiction is very strong, and sometimes I think only other recovered addicts can truly understand what a long and lengthy process recovery is. I’ve been in Brooke’s shoes, and I wish her the best.

Kaiser, I agree with you completely! All I can think of is those poor little boys. A mother who can’t (or won’t) stay sober and a father who is just as bad. I hope those two little guys are raised by someone who will love them and teach them how NOT to follow in mommy and daddy’s footsteps.

I remember when people wondered what Brook was thinking to hook up with Charlie with his often blow outs with women in the past. I guess we know now that she has her own issues.

I have immense sympathy for Brooke. We all have our “issues” and at least she’s trying to overcome hers. Charlie – on the other hand – has always shirked his responsibilities and only thinks about his desires. Let’s give Brooke credit for putting in the effort and trying!!

Skye, very nicely put. In recovery, I’ve met several people who’ve checked themselves in before they relapsed. It’s usually to treat the emotional aspects of addiction before they succumb to the physical cravings. In nearly 4 years of sobriety, putting down the drink/drugs was the easiest part, by far. It’s the attitude adjustment that’s hard & I can’t imagine Brooke is making it any easier on herself by hanging out with the Hiltons.

I read on another site that the reason she checked into a sober house is because Brooke’s parents are going on a two week cruise, and they needed someone to “babysit” her. I guess they already arranged for someone to take care of the twins, but needed someone for their 32 year old baby.
