Josh Duhamel on being a jagoff: “I’m good. Lesson learned.”

When TMZ announced on Friday that Josh Duhamel had been kicked off of a flight for refusing to turn off his Blackberry, and for “taunting” a flight attendant, TMZ included an apology… from Josh’s rep. Now Josh seems to realize how douchey he looks, so he went to Access Hollywood to “explain” his side. Only not really – he just offers a personal mea culpa that doesn’t sound very genuine:

Thursday’s incident that got him kicked off a New York to Kentucky flight has come back to bite Josh Duhamel in the BlackBerry.

“I’ve learned that it’s best to always turn them off,” the actor, 38, said of his electronic device, which he reportedly was asked by a flight attendant to switch off when the plane was on the LaGuardia Airport runway. When he didn’t, despite multiple requests, the plane turned back to the gate and he was removed.

Speaking to Access Hollywood, Duhamel admitted that the experience was “not my favorite moment.”

But that’s behind him now. “I’m good,” he said. “Lesson learned.”

With his wife, Fergie, in London for a Black Eyes Peas concert on Saturday, Duhamel made his comments at Sunday’s TREVOR Live benefit at the Hollywood Palladium. The Trevor Project honors individuals and corporations for their positive commitment to increase visibility and understanding of the LGBTQ community.

Asked if he had been bullied as a youngster, Duhamel said that he was. “I think a lot more people do than we realize. I was a gangly kid, who was kind of, you know, awkward,” he said. “I can definitely understand it.”

[From People]

I wonder if Josh was completely drunk on the flight – and I wonder if he’s the kind of drunk who gets verbally abusive. That might explain it. Of course, the other option is just that he’s a douche who thinks the rules don’t apply to him. Maybe a little of column A and B?

There were a hundred other people on that plane who were late for arrival because this dong-brain felt he was entitled to break the rules. Lesson learned, my ass.

Perhaps he should apologize to the other passengers on the flight who were inconvenienced by his actions.

“Lesson learned”? Not much of an apology.

No, Po, you don’t seem to be wrong. I totally agree. He has too many of these “coincidental” douchey moments following him around.

Disappointed. No admitting he was a huge asshole who caused a lot of problems for the rest of the passengers. All he could muster was learned to turn my Blackberry off. That shows his arrogance. What a jerk. I would have respected him more if he had said, I’m mortified by my behavior. It seems to me he feels there was nothing wrong with his behavior.

Um, am I the only one who views ‘taunting’ a flight attendant and refusing to do as they repeatedly request a form of ‘bullying’? And he was asked to speak at an event for LGBTQ? Whah…for his positive commitment to being an asshole? Or is he just one of those who, having been bullied when he was young reserves the right to pass it on?

I don’t know how he did it but the apology comes off just as bad as the actual act.

He’s not sorry. He’s only sorry he got caught and people think that he is bitchy. He’s a jerk for not turning it off. If you’re that addicted, don’t fly.

This guy is a TOTAL douchetard.
I don’t care how addicted to the thing he is, he only has to turn it off for all of 20 minutes, Blackberries have a flight mode setting, ffs. It takes a special kind of self important jack off to inconvenience an entire plane full of people and then go on tv and totally not even apologize about it. Sort of like his wife’s band thinks they can just keep ripping off songs from other bands and nobody will notice because they’re famous.

@Bellaluna- For the second time today, I completely agree with you.

He should have just left it to his PR team if he had no intention of accepting responsibility for his douchery. I can’t believe he didn’t admit what he did was wrong.

Next time they should just skip going back to the gate and toss him out on the runway.
