Yesterday, I covered some newish photos of Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway in Australia, doing a photo call and promoting Love & Other Drugs. Hathaway was wearing a really fug Christopher Kane ice-skater’s onesie that sparkled magically in the heterosexual gleam of Jake’s eye. It was tacky. So I’m glad to see that Anne was greatly improved for the Australian premiere – Anne is wearing Oscar de la Renta (Spring 2011). Jake is in Burberry, although I think he’s worn this same suit for every formal event in the past month.
Anne has been doing some bridal styles for this promotional round, and I have to admit, this de la Renta might be my favorite. Is it kind of bridesmaid-y? Sure. But I don’t even think that’s the fault of the dress – Anne just seems to have bridesmaid style, in general. But I think the mod silhouette really works in Anne’s favor – she doesn’t look “too old” or “too much” like she sometimes tends to.

I think Anne is one of those people that look much better moving, on film. Stills don’t do her justice. She has very large features that seem exaggerated in still shots.

Love her. Used to love him. I don’t know, he always seems so smug. Like he’s better than everyone else and it’s beneath him to have to do interviews to promote his projects. This is the unfortunete side affect of knowing too much about celebs. Now I have no interest in his movies. Still love her though.
I saw Love and Other Drugs. It was good, but did not live up to the hype. JG was really good. Although AH’s performance was good, I was constantly annoyed by her voice or the way she talks, or something. I want to like her, but, she just comes across as smug everywhere.
The dress and look are fantastic – I just cannot stand this girl – jealously? I don’t know – just something about her that BUGS.
I like it, it’s like bling-bling sixties. The shoes suck though.
I have to say, in the first picture, her head looks gigantic and her neck, pencil thin. Looks like they pasted her head on someone else’s body. That being said, I think she’s beautiful and the dress is ok. Not loving the fit on her. And I agree, she’s better moving than in some stills.
The dress is lovely, but it would look better on a girl with darker skin. Anne would have looked better in a blue or purple version.

Not liking recent celebrity style has to just be *me* lately, or something. I think this dress does nothing for her body… It looks like an oversized ‘night shirt’ like I used to wear when I was 5.

Looks like wrapping paper. This dress could be better as an evening gown, all flowy and long versus short and boxy.
