Blake Fielder-Civil finally gets sentenced; Amy Winehouse is a no-show

Doesn’t it seem like Blake Incarcerated has been in the clink forever? This trial for perverting the course of justice- a fancy Brit phrase for witness tampering- has been dragged out for ages. Blake Incarcerated, the no-good husband of everyone’s favorite celebrity crackhead, Amy Winehouse, pled guilty to the charges months ago, but could not be sentenced until the other defendants in the case were tried as well. Earlier today, Blake was finally sentenced to 27 months in prison–and his devoted wife was nowhere to be found during the court proceedings.

Amy Winehouse’s husband was sentenced to 27 months in prison today for grievous bodily harm and perverting the course of justice.

Fielder-Civil had admitted beating up pub manager James King in a barroom fight in 2006 and then offering him £200,000 to keep quiet about it.

Judge David Radford told Fielder-Civil he had behaved in a ‘gratuitous, cowardly and disgraceful’ way.

Fielder-Civil has already served around nine months on remand and he could be free in four-and-a-half months if he behaves himself in prison.

Miss Winehouse was not in court today to support her husband.

Earlier, Fielder-Civil appealed to a judge to let him walk free so he could become a role model for the troubled singer.

Through his barrister, Fielder-Civil told of his love for his wife and determination that both will devote themselves to becoming clean.

Jeremy Dein QC, told Snaresbrook crown court: ‘They are very much committed to each other and their ambition is to divorce themselves from hard drugs and not separate themselves from each other.

‘Knowing the nation’s glare is upon him, Mr Fielder-Civil has every possible motive to rehabilitate himself in the way he has already shown he is fully committed to doing. He knows if he fails, an appointment with calamity awaits, not just for himself but for his wife.

‘He can now see that hard drugs are to be regarded as nothing other than a smiling assassin. He wishes now to become a role model for Miss Winehouse but he knows it would be impossible for her to alienate herself from drugs if he continues to befriend them.’

Mr Dein urged the judge to either impose a community order, a suspended sentence or a prison term of no more than 18 months, the equivalent time Fielder-Civil has served awaiting his sentence.

The court heard Fielder-Civil kicked James King on the ground as the victim was being beaten up by Michael Brown in a row over a girlfriend in June 2006.

[From The Daily Mail]

Blake Incarcerated may be able to fool his mother into believing he is no longer using drugs, but I don’t think the judge was buying it. In fact, I like to think that when he launched into that bullshit about being a role model for Amy, the entire court burst out laughing, and maybe pelted him with some rotten eggs. That’s what I would have done.

I really hope Blake Incarcerated has to serve the full 27 months and doesn’t get credit for time served -especially since there is video of him doing drugs while in the pokey. Clearly, a little thing like prison bars hasn’t stopped him from getting access to drugs- which he purchased by selling autographed photos of his wife. And it would be even better if Winehouse continued to be a no show and decided to dump his ass to go get herself clean. But honestly, I don’t have a lot of hope on that one. Call it wishful thinking.

Picture note by Celebitchy: Blake’s classy mom is shown below smoking a cigarette outside of the sentencing today. The woman thought to be his girlfriend, identified by the Daily Mail as 21 year-old German model Sophie Schandorff, is shown in tears. Header image is a file photo. Credit: WENN

This is the best thing 4 Amy. It’s a shame he will be out in only 4 months – the two of them are each others worst enemy.

Wonder if Amy will go on another bender?

..and what is that girl with the phone wearing on her feet? Odd shoes?

Was Amy a no show because this chick was going to be there?

    questions questions

Oh God, when you see his parents it all makes sense in the most horrible way.

Anyone want to run odds on the two of them “devoting themselves to getting clean” when they are reunited? Or would you prefer to bet on them winding up in adjacent freezer drawers in the morgue?…

I wonder what his “girlfriend” will look like once she starts hitting the crack pipe… should be interesting to watch the transformation.

“party on”? Thats the LAST thing Amy needs…

  9. Shane says:

He will get credit for time served, so if he’s already been inside for 18 months he will be released in April of 2009 or earlier depending on the institution he gets sent to and any “good behavior” time he can get knocked off.

    Just letting you know.

Drugs are as prevalent in UK prisons as outside of them, as they are in most prisons across the globe, including America. Most UK prisons now have in-house rehab programmes. Blake waste-of-space hasn’t had a clean day since he’s been inside, regardless of what his idiot mother says.

Glad people are finally seeing the reality of the people responsible for Blakey’s existence. Mitch Winehouse is no angel but he’s a saint by comparison with this pair of enablers.
