Last night was the big LA screening/premiere of Country Strong, the poor whiskey-soaked, twanky musical that got SHUT OUT of the Golden Globes. Gwyneth Paltrow is a total pro, however, not deigning to allow her haters see her anything less than perfect. The dress is Emilio Pucci – I didn’t use the photos where you can really see the left side of the dress, which has a dramatic hip-high slit. To be fair to me, however, Gwyneth didn’t do a lot of posing with the slit all open and junk – you can see the back of the dress here. Also – should we talk about the slit? And how we now know that Goopy is going commando on the red carpet? I don’t mind a slit, honestly. This dress reminds me of (whispers) Angelina Jolie’s Versace at The Tourist premiere in NYC. Only Jolie’s long-sleeved, white, slitted dress didn’t make her look like a flat-chested box. (Whispers) like Gwyneth.
Don’t even ask me what’s going on in this photo. Whatever it is, it’s a tragedy. I don’t enjoy saying that, because I genuinely like Faith Hill and Tim McGraw, separately and as a couple. But whatever Faith has been doing to her face is tragic. And Tim… well, that is a very unconvincing piece.
Leighton Meester… I like you, girl, but just no. The dress is Dior, the fashion house that has become the go-to borrowed pieces for the red carpet lately. Unfortunately, people are flocking to what looks like the Spring collection, and the stuff is totally inappropriate for winter.
And lastly, Garrett Hedlund. No leopard-print vagina! BOO!

I think the Goop is pretty most of the time but this is just meh.
If she wants the real buzz, she should have that woven slit in the front of the dress running all the way to her button (belly, for clarification).
You know, regarding Goopy’s skin, I think it always looks so bad and uneven because of the organic make up she uses: it doesn’t have silicone in it, so it doesn’t perfectly hide the opened pores. I use organic make up, and it does that effect on me; but I’m not a movie star, so who cares.
Goopy’s dress is plain (at least from the front) and unflattering, Leighton is young & cute so even when she goofs, she looks good.
Last photo looks strange (like a line up).
I HATE Leighton in bright red lipstick. I think a dark red would be better.
Goop has a fantastic bod, but the slit is just too Vegas, classless and cheap IMO.

I think the dress is supposed to give it an ‘editorial’ look but the top is unflattering and makes her look like she has no boobs, and the bottom is kind of tacky looking.

The Goopy dress is just bad. It’s like my grandmother’s old nightgown that someone added some seems up the side of the legs to make it sexy and Goopy mistook it for a dress and wore it out. That being said she is skinny and pretty enough to still look almost kinda good in it and I’m jealous.

I don’t care for Leighton or Goopy’s dresses. LM’s dress looks like the janitor at a knitting convention thought it would be tragic to throw all of the scraps away and decided to glue them together into this get-up.
Goopy’s dress would be more appropriate if she were playing the part of a ghost in a Halloween flick.
I agree with the above poster. It’s starting to look very tragic that her husband NEVER appears with her to support her at these major events in her life.
I guess she could argue that her parents and her children aren’t there either, so they all chose to stay home with the kids, but it just seems weird.

Oh Goopy, you do not have enough boobs to make that dress look half-way decent and wearing that kind of dress at your age just screams of desperation. Yes, you are slim, but after a certain age, you should go more for classy. Classy does not have to mean boring.
I think Goopy is so in love w/herself for being able to wear a white dress like that – which you do have to have an amazing body to pull off. I agree though, she looks like she’s trying to recruit us all into some vegas, skank cult. I think Faith’s outfit is FANTASTIC. She usually misses the mark, but here she is right on – gorgeous.

This dress is completely shapeless. It’s hanging on her and covering her entire midsection like she stuck her head through a ‘body pillow’ pillowcase. But added the slit in the side to be ‘sexy’, but there was no saving this mess.

This is one of the best dresses of the year–you need to back shot which is gorgeous. Gwyn is not one of my favorites, but props–she nailed this one. A+

She did manage to tell extra or access or whatever that she and the entire movie were incorrectly submitted to the globes as a drama and it should have been submitted as a musical. The commercials crack me up so I agree, it should have been submitted as a musical/comedy.
And yes, I had checked out the back of the dress before commenting. That does NOT help this dress.
She has a *great* back. I’m not hatin’ on that at all. It’s just a sheet she pinned to herself before cutting a big slit’ in it. When you have a decent body, draping bedding over it does not a high fashion statement make.
The dress looks cheap, she is wayyy to orange and has the CAVEMAN forehead between the eyes from wayyYYY to much botox. i USUALLY THINK SHE LOOKS GOOD BUT THIS IS A BIG MISS.
