Members of the armed forces don't get enough attention as individuals, just as a generalized "I support the troops". And these particular vets chosen by the show really seem to need a boost. That said, I'm not a fan of the Oprah-Dr. Phil concept of giving massive gifts to one person in trouble instead of addressing the systemic and cultural problems that got them in that situation in the first place. It's very small Band-Aid on what is often a very big wound. I like this a lot. Members of the armed forces don’t get enough attention as individuals, just as a generalized “I support the troops”.
