Ethan Hawke, 37, got married in a civil ceremony to his girlfriend Ryan Shawhughes, 27, last month in NY before the birth of their first baby. Shawhughes was the nanny to Hawkes two older children when he was with his ex, actress Uma Thurman, although they supposedly didn’t hook up until after his marriage was over and she was no longer working for the family. The two had daughter Clementine Jane Hawke last Friday, and the paparazzi were there to snap the week-old baby’s first public photo as she was taken outside in New York today. You can see Hawke smiling like he can’t help but be proud, and that’s a huge change from the pissed-off look he usually gives the paparazzi. There was more than one photographer there too because these weren’t exclusive photos. I guess we can assume that Ethan and Ryan won’t be posing in the pages of People with Clementine anytime soon if they’re not bothering to cover her up. They don’t seem like the type to do that even if they could use the money.
Ryan looks great after just having had a baby a week ago. Clementine is so cute and tiny and it kind of makes my womb hurt to look at her.

Lala I see it plenty- cute kids can trump gross parents sometimes!
newborns mostly look similar to me. hate to say it even when I walked to the nursery at the hospital to get mine (he was getting routines tests) I went to the wrong bassinet. In my defense I did just have him but still… I was mortified. A few of them looked so much like mine!
Regardless of the nanny drama glad the baby is healthy and it was a smooth delivery.

daisfly, as CB said it wasn’t the nanny he (supposedly) cheated on Uma. If i remember it right he hooked up with a model in Canada.
But frankly, when i see how hard the divorce seemed to be on Ethan, the way he looked right after it happened, and how Uma moved on relatively quickly, i’m more and more believing what few have supposed really happened, that she was the one who had an affair first but was able to keep it under wraps.

Lara, I personally don’t care who cheated on who first. It’s sad that today, people will just go around having kid after kid with someone they’re not interested in making a commitment to, and yet, when they DO make a commitment, they can’t even keep it! Half-assed everything today! No one wants to work for a damn thing, whether it be money, marriage, or kids. People’s priorities are so bass-ackward, it’s ridiculous!

Ethan and Uma were so miserable together. Back then she told the Oprah she had a rough period during the divorce period and that she blames herself for their break up, because if she had paid more attention to her husband than to her career, she would still be married now. I remember that she said “We were having a difficult time… Our marriage failed. I should take full responsibility for the failure of my own marriage.” So… I thought…Why everybody blame Ethan? He made a mistake, of course, but it’s easy enough to say guilt…guilt…guilt. But it isn’t easy to keep unhappy marriage for long time. Besides all of us know that Tarantino hang over Uma all the time. So… Ethan is a moving father. Ethan, Maya and Levon are always happy when they are together. And Clementine is so cute. She look like Ethan, I guess. She frowns like her daddy. I love Ethan. To me he is very beautiful. I hope that Clementine grows such intelligent and beautiful like him. I don’t like so much Ryan, but I’m glad to see Ethan happy again. Is he? We never know…
